1.Tell the readers more about yourself? My name is Desiré Manuel and I am 37 years old and a mom to one boy, I would like to think that I'm energetic and caring. I'm a huge animal lover totally against any animal cruelty and/or animal tested products. If I ever had the power to change something in this world, it would be the abuse of testing products on animals. I am blessed with such an amazing man in my life as well. Latina blood runs through these veins, and I’m very proud to say that. We are strong women who will fight till the end and never give up. Sometimes I’m a bit stubborn, but I’m also very caring. I grew up happily on a farm with so many animals and for some reason my pets always loved my dad more…..still trying to figure that one out. 2.What is your greatest achievement

UPFRONT & PERSONAL

so far? So far I would say my greatest achievement was to survive so many things that I thought would absolutely destroy me and I started to make decisions that made me happy which a lot of people didn't want to understand and I'm still being judged for those personal decisions, but, honestly, in the end we have to do what makes us happy and it's not always that easy. 3. Please tell the readers about your modelling career? I did modelling from the age of 11 and won a few pageant titles plus I even had the honor of being a part of Mrs SA a few years ago, which led me to also own a modelling and drama school. I started off as a ramp model and ended up becoming a photographic model, plus doing some acting.

4.What do you do in your spare time? I love the outdoors, the smell of the ocean, hiking and horseback riding. I’m not really one for going to pubs, clubs etc. When I’m not outside I'll be relaxing at home with the man I’m so blessed to call mine and my busy bee son usually keeps us entertained with something, so there’s never a dull moment with these two men. 5.Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Well, I’d love to become the perfect wife, mother and daughter, as everyone wants to be successful in their life, especially in these areas and in the end I want the people in my life to feel loved and happy, cause that's the biggest blessing one could ever wish for.

WAYS 18 To Look Great

Instantly 20

ROYAL ROUGE MAGAZINE | 2020 | WWW.ROYALROUGE.CO.ZA

18

Ways to Look Great Instantly

1. Whiten Your Teeth Nothing makes you look prettier and more approachable than a bright, healthy smile. As Charla Krupp once famously proclaimed, yellow teeth are aging! Fortunately, they are so easy to fix! A friend recently told me that she gets her teeth professionally cleaned at the dentist’s office three times a year instead of twice, and I immediately decided to do the same thing. If you don’t want to invest in a professional whitening treatment, use an at-home whitening system or a portable tooth whitening pen. Another tip? Try cool, blue-based lipcolors (cherry, raspberry, wine) instead of warm tones (coral) to counteract the yellow in your teeth, or try a gloss designed to help your teeth look whiter. 2. Change Up Your Manicure I am not saying that there is anything wrong with acrylic nails. Wait, yes, yes I am. I know this is controversial, but thick, long, squaredoff nails are dated. The trendiest talons now are delicate, whether short and delicate or longer and slightly almond-shaped at the tip. Don’t be afraid to break out of the French manicure box. There are so many chic, wearable manicure ideas out there that are neutral and more updated. Classic red, coral or sheer pink nails are always chic. Or if you’re looking for something funkier, try painting all of your nails in one solid color, and then adding a sparkly topcoat to a single nail on each hand, or try a colorful new nail wrap like the ones from Jamberry.

embossed onto the leather looks so dated. Invest in a status bag, if you can, or, for more affordable options that are still on-point stylewise, look to lines like Z Spoke from Zac Posen, Michael Kors, and Rebecca Minkoff. Avoid faux texture, tons of exterior pockets, and a boring shape in a boring color, like beige. For an investment piece, choose a black or camel bag in a strong, elegant shape with minimal detail and hardware. 4. Lower Your Vamp High vamp shoes (those that cover more of the top of your foot) can be cool, or edgy, or funky, but they are rarely feminine or delicate. Furthermore, thin straps are prettier than thick straps, no matter what the Birkenstock wearers say. And while the new ugly shoes may, arguably, have a place in the wardrobe of a 20-year-old hipster, after a certain age, they look like comfort shoes – the very antithesis of cute. So skip the flatforms and shower slides, the Tevas and the Birkenstocks, and stick with classic but still comfortable options like thong sandals, ballet flats (square toes or pointy toes are both trendy), or gladiators. Call me old-fashioned, but I like pretty.

3. Ditch the Boring Bag Your bag should be a beautiful, high-quality statement piece. It should not be boring, or frumpy, or dated. After all, you carry it every day, and a blah bag can bring down your whole outfit. A stiff bag with a faux exotic print ROYAL ROUGE MAGAZINE | 2020 | WWW.ROYALROUGE.CO.ZA

5. Lose the Platform Flops Yes, this is closely related to #4, but I feel so strongly about this that I decided to give it its own category. Flip flops should be flat. Ditch the styles with the thick black rubber platform soles and go for a classic pair of Havaianas. While you’re at it, toss any old flip flops with the black nylon straps and black soles. There are so many options that are equally affordable and comfortable, yet far more stylish.

Next time you’re shopping, try the smaller size. Or, if you are used to wearing your clothes a little too snug, try the next size up. Clothes that don’t fit are unflattering, unattractive, and most of all, aging. 8. Upgrade your Denim I find that there’s plenty of room for trendy, disposable denim in a girl’s life. The boyfriend jeans, the updated “mom” jeans, the highwaisted jeans — all these are of-the-moment trends and are best bought at discount prices, either at thrift stores, off-price stores, or fast fashion outlets like H&M. Don’t spend a lot on anything with a short shelf life. The dark-wash skinny jean is today’s answer to the boot cut: sleek, flattering to many, and versatile enough to dress up or down. It is the new classic, and should be an investment piece. Plan to spend 2-3 times as much on these, and look for premium labels like Joe’s, AG, and Seven for All Mankind.

6. Grow Your Hair Out Some women immediately cut their hair after having kids. It’s like a rite of passage. 1. Have baby. 2. Buy yoga pants. 3. Chop hair off. But there is another way. You can have a baby. Wear cute clothes. And style your hair however you want it. Within reason. We all make trade-offs. I decided keratin was too high-maintenance for my current lifestyle, and I embraced my curls, but I didn’t cut it off, because my hair looks better long. The key is to pick a pretty, flattering 9. And your Bra style that you can maintain, I know you think your tired, whether it’s long or short. stretched-out, old bra is fine. It isn’t. Unless you struggle 7. Ditch the Baggy Clothes to fill in an A-cup, you need So, so, so many women some support. The right think they are bigger than bra will make absolutely they are. They wear long everything you wear look a baggy tees and slouchy million times more expensive. sweatshirts in an attempt to You will look taller, slimmer, hide it, which actually ends and chic-er. If you’re a full up making them look bigger. B-cup or higher, an underwire 22

ROYAL ROUGE MAGAZINE | 2020 | WWW.ROYALROUGE.CO.ZA

is required, not optional; and if you can only choose one bra, pick a seamless neutral style with convertible straps for maximum versatility. And if you don’t have a high-end department store in town, go bra shopping online at innovative retailers like Brayola, True & Co., and Third Love. 10. Pick a Fresh New Lipcolor So we’ve heard how a too-dark, too-matte lipstick can age you, and how the opposite – a nude, washed out lip – is also true. Your best pick? An ultra-hydrating color with a little bit of sheen in a mid-toned flattering color. Whether you prefer the subtlety of a lip stain or the pop of a bolder shade, make sure the color complements your skin tone and brightens your complexion. 11. Groom your Brows You know how you feel when they look straggly. Prevent that from happening by regular rearview mirror checks. I find that the angle of the rearview mirror, combined with natural light, is the best place to pluck stray hairs as they arise and keep your brows neat and groomed. Keep a pair of tweezers in your glove compartment and touch up your brows whenever you have a spare moment! But never, of course, while actually driving.

12. BUY A CUTE PAIR OF SNEAKERS

Even if you don’t work out. Especially if you don’t work out. Trainers are trendy right now, and just the thing for long days of family travel or hiking around an amusement park. Of course I’m not talking about your worn out running shoes here. Make them count. Make them cute! Then they’ll look like an intentional part of your look and not just an afterthought.

13. USE SUNSCREEN

Every day. Even when it’s gray. Use an antioxidantpacked formula on the face, neck, chest, ears and back of the neck every morning, and a body lotion with SPF on extremities. In sunnier months, switch your regular hand cream for a moisturizing sunscreen. If you want the protection without the greasiness, try a sunscreen stick, like the Age Shield Hand Balm from Rodan + Fields.

14. WEAR DISHWASHING GLOVES

Not a glamorous subject, but we all wash dishes, and all that soap and hot water and scrubbing can take its toll, and make hands look older. I keep a hand-lotion pump next to my kitchen sink, and apply a quick dab to the backs of hands

before slipping on my girly dishwashing gloves. It’s like a little spa treatment! Okay, it’s nothing like a spa treatment, but it’s the best I can do, most days.

derm known for his minimalist approach. Just the tiniest bit will leave you line-free and relaxed-looking for months, and no one needs to know. So what are you waiting for?

15. FIND A GREAT SKINCARE ROUTINE

17. USE A SKIN-FIRMING BODY CREAM

As a beauty writer, I have never had a shortage of skincare products on hand, but all that choice can be confusing, to you and to your skin. You don’t need more products. You just need a few well-chosen ones that cover all of your bases. One way to do this is to pick your entire skincare routine from the same company, since the products are designed to work synergistically. And if you are just getting started, keep it simple: a gentle cleanser, an anti-aging cream with SPF for day, and an anti-aging cream for evening. After it becomes a habit, add more products as needed, like an eye cream or a mask. For more tips on choosing and using a skincare routine, check out my new book on the topic, filled with tips from the top skincare experts.

16. GET BOTOX

When it comes to treatments that can treat current wrinkles while preventing future ones, Botox tops the list. And it doesn’t have to mean frozen face. Get a recommendation from a trusted friend for a

I have been told that a cream can’t take the place of exercise, but who has time for that kind of negativity? I personally love the way firming creams leave skin taut, glowing, and, well, firm. I am always on the hunt for the perfect all-purpose body cream, one that makes you firm and glowy, with just a hint of color. Jergens BB cream checks all the boxes, and it’s so affordable! Aveeno, Nivea, and Palmer’s are also good options.

18. CURL YOUR LASHES

You might not think you need to curl your lashes. You do. Trust me. I have long, dark, curly-ish lashes and was convinced they didn’t need curling, until I tried it. Now I look back on those pre-lashcurling days and shudder. What a waste. Don’t let this happen to you. Curl your lashes, and you’ll be hooked by how bright and wideawake it makes you look! The best curler is from Shu Uemura. Don’t waste your money on any other.

MY HEALTH

SLEEP DISTURBANCES : Is a lack of sleep doing permanent damage You don’t need to be a neurologist to know that, after a bad night’s sleep, your brain just isn’t as sharp as it could be. Writing an exam while starved for more pillow time would probably result in a lower mark. Having to embark on a long trip behind the wheel would be risky. Once you’d gotten a little more sleep, however, you’d be able to return to form. Or could you? As it turns out, ongoing sleep disturbances can have several long-term effects on your brain. One of them is to negatively affect your overall lack of brain function.

that prolonged periods without sleep lead to impaired brain function. Not to mention the death of brain cells.

The area of the mice’s brains that interested researches the most is known as the locus coeruleus (LC). The neurons in this area play a big role in a range of important functions. These include attention span, wakefulness, memory, the ability to understand things and even emotions. They found that, when deprived of sleep in the short-term, the mice’s LC neurons had a protective response. They’d increase the production of Sleep disturbances and brain damage a particular protein as well as antioxidants. Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania These are vital to protect and China’s Peking University studied the neural activity of mice suffering from various levels of sleep deprivation. They discovered 24

brain cells from damage and stress.

run of pillow tossing can literally shrink your brain!

When the sleep disturbances were prolonged, however, the LC neurons lost their ability to serve up natural protection. As a result, they started to die. Researchers found that after less than a week of operating on a sleep schedule that mimicked a human shift worker, the mice had lost a whopping 25-percent of their LC neurons!

Take sleep seriously If you’ve been struggling to sleep on an ongoing basis, it’s time to take it seriously. In the same way that you wouldn’t ignore chronic pain, you shouldn’t accept a life where you’re constantly running on empty. A continuous flow of deep, restorative sleep is the foundation of good health and, without it, you put yourself at risk of developing a host of health problems.

Insomnia can shrink your brain While the aforementioned study wasn’t on humans. It is the first evidence to suggest that a lack of sleep can have an irreversible effect. This is something scientists have suspected for a while. It is for this reason that more human studies are being done to confirm their suspicions. One, for example, was performed by researchers in Sweden. It examined the effects of a single night of sleep deprivation on a human brain. It revealed that after just one night of not sleeping (hello insomnia!) the blood concentration of brain cells rose by 20 percent. An indicator that can signify neural damage. Another study performed by researchers at the University of California found a link between chronic poor sleep quality and a reduction in brain tissue volume. Simply put, an extended

To get to the source of what’s causing your sleep disturbances, be it primary insomnia or sleep apnoea, consider making an appointment to see a specialist at a sleep clinic. They’ll be able to run a series of tests to help you get to the root cause of what’s keeping you up. They’ll then be able to create an appropriate treatment plan that gives you a better kind of sleep and a better quality of life.

5 REASONS WHY

GOOD SLEEP IS

IMPORTANT

By Zandile Vinolia Ngozo

We know that sometimes it is really hard to stick to regular sleeping patterns or even ensuring that you have one. Human beings are now sleeping less than they did in the past and sleep quality has decreased as well. Research shows that sleep is as important as exercising and having a healthy diet.

significantly more than those who get adequate sleep. In fact, short sleep duration is one of the strongest risk factors for obesity. So, if you are trying to lose weight, quality sleep is crucial so make sure that you prioritize your sleep.

02. Good sleep can improve concentration and productivity Another study found that short sleep can negatively impact some aspects of brain function to a similar degree as alcohol intoxication. Sleep deprivation affects various aspects of the brain such as cognition, concentration, productivity and performance. Good sleep helps enhance memory performance of both children and adults; it also improves problem-solving skills.

Here are 5 reasons why good nights sleep is so important: 01. Poor Sleep can make you Fat According to Healthine. com, Poor sleep is strongly linked to weight gain. People with short sleep duration tend to weigh 26

MY HEALTH

03. Good sleeps help prevent risks of heart disease and stroke We all know that good sleep is essential, but a lack of good sleep can have a major effect on many health factors, which lead to chronic diseases such as heart attacks. According to healthline.com, a review of 15 studies found that people who don’t get enough sleep are at a far greater risk of heart disease or stroke than those who sleep 7–8 hours per night. 04. Poor sleep is linked to Depression An estimation has been made that 90% of people with depression complain about sleep quality. Poor sleep is even associated with an increased risk of death by suicide (22Trusted Source). Those with sleeping disorders like insomnia or obstructive sleep apnea also report significantly higher rates of depression than those without. Poor sleeping patterns are linked to

depression, especially for those with a sleeping disorder. 05. Sleep affects emotions and social interactions Nothing is as annoying as socializing or interacting with people if you had a sleepless night. Sleep deprivation reduces the ability to interact. One study found that people who had not slept had a reduced ability to recognize expressions of anger and happiness (31Trusted Source). According to Healthline.com, Researchers believe that poor sleep affects your ability to recognize important social cues and process emotional information. Conclusion Sleep is essential and is crucial. We need to be determined to have a balanced life where we eat healthy, exercise more and get enough sleep. We hope this article will encourage you to start prioritizing your sleep. ROYAL ROUGE MAGAZINE | 2020 | WWW.ROYALROUGE.CO.ZA

FOR DECLUTTERING YOUR

WARDROBE

Just do it! This is the kind of advice that seems helpful, but for someone who needs to declutter their wardrobe, it can seem like a very daunting task. So here are five easy steps to help simplify the exercise of creating more space in your wardrobe.

It will save you space – and money!

2. Consider the seasons

Okay, we know some items might be seasonal, but be honest with yourself: if you haven’t worn something at all during the last 12 months, you’ve pretty much covered all four seasons, so get rid of it! It’s unlikely that you’ll suddenly start wearing the item now.

3. If it doesn’t fit, let it go This tip applies especially if you haven’t cleaned out your wardrobe for some time. Whether it doesn’t fit at all or is just

5. Pick a number If you can’t get yourself to throw anything away, decide on a number. Be brave and choose 10. Go through your wardrobe and choose any 10 items to put in a bag to give away. Categorised as the inability to get or sustain an erection long enough to have sexual intercourse. Did you know that erectile dysfunction is a lot more common than you think? Again, this is due to the fact that most men aren’t likely to bring it up in conversation. Also, while it’s more likely to affect older men, younger men aren’t excluded from the condition either. These range from psychological reasons like stress or anxiety to physical ones like cardiovascular diseases, hormones and diabetes. Also, certain medications, recreational drugs, alcohol and even smoking can also be to blame. This is why it’s important to make an appointment with a doctor who can perform a series of tests to rule out certain conditions and find out exactly what’s responsible.

Erectile dysfunction – blood flow is key If you’re suffering from erectile dysfunction, whatever the cause, you should know that it all boils down to blood flow. All erections are

the result of a rush of blood to the penis. When you’re sexually stimulated, the muscles in your penis relax. This allows your penile arteries to swell with blood, filling up two chambers in your penis and causing it to become stiff. When your muscles eventually contract, the blood is able to leave your penis and your erection goes away. Because it’s all about blood flow, we can treat erectile dysfunction with carboxytherapy, often in combination with prescription medication. The carboxytherapy is incredibly valuable as it involves using micro-needles to inject the penis with CO2 gas that stimulates the growth of new capillaries in the treatment site. The more capillaries you have in your penis, the more it can fill with blood.

TRENDS AT SA FASHION WEEK

Summer 2020 • MICHELLE DOYLE • Equilibrio team • FASHION • All the above images are by Eunice Driver from Eunice Driver Photography for SA Fashion Week

SA’s top design talent was on display yet again at SA Fashion Week. Buyers, bloggers and fashionistas all marvelled over the fashion and grand setup at Sandton City, Johannesburg. SA Fashion Week really is a world class production and a wonderful place for local designer to showcase their collections to come for Spring/Summer 2019. Unlike other places in the world, the public can also attend the shows, so be sure to get your tickets next season. The Equilibrio team attended all the women’s collections at SA Fashion Week. Here are the trends we spotted for the season ahead:

HEAD-TO-TOE-RED

Red is a big international trend and has been around for one season already. This trend is bold but easy to pull off. Everyone has a favourite shade of red. Perhaps it is time to find yours. Left to right: Erre, M antsho, Thebe Magugu, Isabel de Villiers

PANTS SUITS This is also a trend that’s been big world-wide, in a way supporting the gender-neutral movement. Suits can be worn tailored or slightly oversized, and pair them with sky high heels or boyish sneakers.

CORAL & BURNT ORANGE One of the biggest trends at this season’s SA Fashion Week was coral and orange. It is not surprising since Living Coral is the Pantone colour of the year. Orange can be a tricky colour to pull off. Find your shade and introduce it as an accent colour rather than a head-to-toe sha de.

FLOPPY HATS

Want to know what hat to wear on your next beach holiday? We saw floppy hats (similar to a cricket hat or perhaps a gardening hat) at many of the shows. Be sure to match it to your outfit.

LILAC & LAVENDER

As predicted by Equilibrio, this 80’s hue is back! Also seen on international runways like Marc Jacobs. We saw lots of light purple on the SA Fashion Week runway, a colour that suits many different skin tones.

BEIGE-ON-BEIGE

Also a trend for winter, we saw various shades of neutrals layered over each other for summer. This is not the easiest trend to pull off. Use a shade that suits you between cream and camel and wear it layered from head-to-toe.

Left to right: Lunar, Helon Melon, SELFI, Clive Rundle

BLACK IS BACK

I guess black will always be around. But we saw more black than at recent Spring/ Summer shows. No complaints here! It remains one of the staples of a lazy dresser like me. Wear your black outfit with tons of texture and bold shapes to make a statement.

What women really want on

Valentine’s Day By Marie Haaland, SWNS

One in four women is choosing to spend Valentine’s Day alone this year, according to new research. A new study examining the plans and approaches of 2,000 women when it comes to the season of romance found that one in four (23 percent) will be adopting an unconventional approach to Valentine’s Day this year. For a quarter of women, their ideal Valentine’s Day includes an evening home alone, while 22 percent would like to spend the day with friends. And if you’re thinking about proposing on the big day — 16 percent think that’s the tackiest thing possible, while 57 percent believe Valentine’s Day is overrated. 48

Male

grooming tips By Zandile Vinolia Ngozo

Gone are those days when females were the only ones applying makeup. We now live in a century where it is perfectly normal for males to wear makeup on photoshoots, tv advertisements etc. Here are some tips on how to do male grooming: 54

Tip 1 Skin Prep is essential. A primer prepares the skin for everything else that follows, allowing it to go on easier and last longer. It’s not an essential step, so it can be skipped in a pinch, but the right formulation can also have additional benefits, like controlling oiliness or hydrating dryness. Tip 2 Concealer is everyone’s best friend. A concealer is similar to foundation, but is thicker and comes in a stick or liquid wand form (the former being far less messy). It works by blending imperfections into the surrounding skin, so use it for hiding under-eye shadows and spot coverage. Tip 3 Brow Gel. Men’s eyebrows tend to be fuller and hairier than women’s, which means they need maintaining. After all, if your eyes are the

We live in a time when it pays to look younger, whether itʼs in the workplace or in the dating world. One of the keys to success is good grooming, experts say. An increasing number of men are making grooming a priority because they want to maintain a youthful appearance and a winning edge. Statistics show that men in the United States are spending more than $4 billion a year on grooming products, such as hair color and facial scrubs, driven by their desire to look and feel their best. The growth in grooming products is being fueled in part by baby boomers entering middle age. Top Grooming Tips for Men Get rid of the grey hair The fastest way to take years off of your look is to get rid of grey hair. Itʼs less noticeable and more natural to begin coloring your hair when you rst begin to go grey. An easy-to-use product formulated specically for men, such as Just For Men Hair color, can be used at home to cover gray hair with natural looking results. If your beard and mustache turns grey , the makers of Just For Men

windows to your soul, then your eyebrows are the curtains. Brow gel, fix or definer – they have multiple names, but basically all do the same thing.

Tip 4 Lip Balm. Lips are more prone to damage than almost anywhere else on the body, it’s important to look after your lips, and that starts with a lip balm. Avoid anything that says ‘gloss’ like the plague. Instead, opt for a manly option: a matte formula that’s moisturising but doesn’t give too much shine when you smile. Tip 5 Blotting Sheets Men typically have larger pores, which can make this appear obvious. Blotting sheets sort the oil slick without leaving a layer of cakey product on your skin. Plus, they’re small enough to keep in your wallet, so they’re ideal for touching up on the go.

Haircolor have a brushin gel in a no-drip formula thatʼs perfect for covering facial hair. Go short if you’re balding Balding is another common problem among men. Opting for a comb-over just dates your look. Get comfortable with your changing look and opt for a modern short haircut. When men begin to lose the hair on their heads, they may begin to notice unwanted hair in other places, like their nose, ears or back. Be sure to trim or wax unwanted hair for a clean, contemporary look. Protect and pamper your skin The best way to prevent wrinkles and skin cancer is to protect your skin from sun damage by using a daily moisturizer with sunscreen. A good daily skin care routine includes cleansing, followed by a gentle facial exfoliant scrub, which also enhances shaving ease and comfort. Follow with a moisturizer containing sunscreen for day and at night a moisturizer with AHAs to encourage skin regeneration.

1. Nusa Penida, Indonesia

For those with adventure coursing through their veins and searching for spots off the beaten track, Hostelworld has predicted that Nusa Penida, in Indonesia, could be the number one spot for this year. This has been predicted due to the fact that interest in Nusa Penida rose by a significant 610% between 2018 and 2019. Nusa Penida is located southeast of Bali. There is a ferry that leaves multiple times per day from Sanur (East Bali). This island is popular for short visits or long-term stays. Seasoned travellers recommend striking a good balance when visiting. Don’t only stay for a matter of hours so as just to have a glimpse of all the sights, but rather spend between 2-4 days exploring all that the island has to offer. Nusa Penida is the largest and most remote of the three Nusa Islands and is most well known for its cliff that’s shaped a bit like a T-Rex. It’s also one of the best places to see the majestic and elusive manta rays. Nature lovers are also likely to spot the Bali starling there too.

The island is completely covered with palm trees and has a considerably tiny population of just 200,000. It’s not overrun with tourists, and makes an ideal destination for some peace and quiet whilst you’re exploring. It’s not that easy to get to as Siargo Island does not have its own international airport. To get there you would need to fly to Manila, Singapore, Seoul or Hong Kong, and then transfer onto a propeller plane for a final two-hour flight. Siargo Island has also recently seen a 181% increase in bookings because of its untouched feel, as well as its sandy beaches and peaceful forests. It is also considered the capital of surfing in the Philippines.

At low tide, the shallow waters fizz and bubble with an effervescence like the finest French bubbly. This is created by tiny gas bubbles as they escape the volcanic rock below, this phenomenon makes every day feel like you’re swimming amongst millions of tiny stars.
