Leather is a flexible and durable material created from animal skin. Dating back to 2200 BC, leather has been a fabric used to make footwear, clothes, furniture and more. That was until the 1960s when people started using it to increase sexual pleasure and to appease their fetishism (BDSM). As the use of leather, latex and other like material increased in the use of sexual pleasure and fetishism, it also took a trend in the queer community. As we all know the queer community are the makers and shakers of culture, that is how BDSM went from the illegal nightclubs into the runways of Paris. Since then, fashion has had a remarkably interesting references to sex. Designers frequently turn to something we all can relate to when looking for inspiration for their next haute couture lines. In their book The Erotic Cloth which dives into the Seduction and Fetishism in Textile, Alice Kettle and Lesley Millar explain how clothing even in its quietness is still suggestive. They furtherly explain how cloth carries a message for both

to be desired and to desire. That is the spectrum at which BDSM leather subculture operates: Dominate or Submit. Leather then carries that flexibility needed for submitting which is the ideology that the submitting person can be molded into anything the dominant part wants but leather also carries the strength that represents dominancy. Fashion designers have been very fond of this fetish and they took it from the gay bars of LA to the pages of Vogue.Back in the day, French designer Manfred Thierry Mugler has included this poetry into his designs for years. Mugler lunched a collection with bondage looks in his 1991 Spring/Summer collection and had all who were present gagging on air by his vision. One photo that is archived when he sent 90s supermodels Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell down the runway in next to nothing leather and honey wigs...were...snatched! 843

During the SS19 showcases, Thom Browne launched his collection which left a rather bad taste in many fashion mouths. The collection consisted of multiple female models tied up and their mouths gagged.The collection came at a time when the gender based violence,rape and domestic violence was at an all-time high and during the #MeToo and #TimesUp movement in Hollywood. Critiques felt like Mr Browne’s over the top take on the trend was very out of touch and not appropriate at that time. Thom redid the bondage trend and did it right this time. Over the years fashion designers have found themselves going back to the bondage subculture to borrow their aesthetics for their fashion shows. The house of Givenchy for their SS19 showcase used latex to make gowns which was a new take on bondage and couture never been seen before.Actress Rachel Weisz wore a red latex garment from this collection to the Oscars and the internet went bazaar with tweets from people offering their submissiveness to her. Later that year, Alexander McQueen went with the same aesthetic at their AW19 showcase. The collection was filled with latex dresses, leather dresses, suits and even chokers accessoriezed with lip, nose and earrings on almost all the models.It would’ve been heaven for the year 2000 Angelina Jolie.

Ingredients

4 small sweet potatoes (about 1 1/2 lbs total), cut into 1/2-inch-thick wedges 3 tbsp. olive oil, divided 1 tsp. five-spice powder Kosher salt 1 1/4 lb. skinless salmon fillet, cut into 1-inch pieces 2 tbsp. low-sodium soy sauce 1 tsp. toasted sesame oil 2 scallions, thinly sliced 4 buns, toasted 1 avocado, thinly sliced 1 c. radish or alfalfa sprouts

Directions

1. Heat oven to 450°F. On rimmed baking sheet, toss potatoes with 2 tablespoons oil, then five-spice powder and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Transfer half to second baking sheet and arrange all in single layer. Roast until crisp, 20 to 25 minutes. 2. Meanwhile, in food processor, pulse salmon, soy sauce, and sesame oil 4 to 5 times, just until coarsely chopped. Add scallions and pulse to combine. Form mixture into four 3/4-inch-thick patties. 3. Heat remaining tablespoon oil in large nonstick skillet on medium and cook patties, turning once (do not flatten), until opaque throughout, 2 to 3 minutes per side. Transfer to buns and top with avocado and sprouts. Serve with sweet potato fries.

Dehydration: Are you mistaking

dehydration lines for wrinkles?

While it sometimes feels that way, wrinkles don’t just form overnight. They’re caused by factors that include a gradual loss of collagen, thinning skin and repeated movements that gradually form an entrenched line. You’re not going to go to bed line-free and then waking up with a permanent frown. Dehydration, however, is a different story! Tell me more about dehydration Still, if your skin isn’t hydrated enough, you might notice very fine, crepey lines that seem to come and go. In this case, you’re dealing with dehydration lines. Unlike wrinkles, they’re not permanent and a well-formulated face cream might be all you need to get rid of them. Some people will have a dryer skin type than others and for that, they can thank their parents. Your genes play a role in how your oil-producing sebaceous glands function. Still, oily-skinned people can also suffer from

dehydrated skin. Things like over-cleansing, over-exfoliating and unwittingly using products with drying ingredients (hello, alcohol-heavy toner!) all contribute to parched skin. If you’re very dry, however, you might be dealing with an impaired barrier function. This is something that can affect all skin types. The upper layers of your skin have a big job. They’re there to keep irritants out and moisture in. This can easily become disrupted, be it due to using a harsh exfoliator or products that contain too much fragrance. The result is dryness, redness and even allergic reactions. Also, you’ll lose your skin’s waxy lipid layer that acts as a sealant. Moisture will escape and dehydration lines will become apparent. Not your boss, not your spouse, not your parents, not your friends, not your clients, not the economy, not the weather, not the president. YOU! It’s scary, but at the same time liberating. The day you stop blaming others for everything that happens in your life, everything will change. When you assume control of your life and take full responsibility for it, your relationships will improve a lot. Taking responsibility for your life is taking charge of your life. Instead of being a victim of circumstances, you obtain the power to create your own circumstances or at least the power to decide how you are going to act in the face of circumstances that life presents to

If you don't like your results, change your input - your thoughts, emotions, and expectations. So my friend - who will you choose to be?

2 - Stop complaining Are you complaining a lot? If yes - I urge you to stop it right now. Complaining is absolutely useless and benefits you in no way at all. If it had the smallest benefit, I would encourage you to continue complaining, but it hasn’t. It’s more. Most of the people you're complaining to probably don’t care, and there might be some that are even happy you aren’t doing well. It makes them feel better and not so miserable in their own skin. Complaining and the self-pity that comes with it are not very attractive. So, instead of complaining about something, ask yourself how you can improve it. Not happy with your weight? Start walking half an hour a day or exercising and LOVE YOURSELF FIRST eating healthier. No time to follow your dreams? Get up an hour earlier and do a morning ritual. Not happy with your life? You know how important focus is, so instead of beating yourself up about past mistakes - which you can’t change anymore no matter how much you’re beating yourself up - concentrate on all your achievements and celebrate your right decisions. Maybe you traveled the world and have lots of great friends? Did you raise wonderful children? Yes. Overcoming major personal setbacks or a bad childhood are also great achievements that should be honored.

If that works for an athlete - why shouldn’t it work for YOU in your life? How do you build belief? Repetition! Do your affirmations - even if you don’t believe them in the beginning. If affirmations don’t work because your inner critic is (still) too powerful, do subliminal tapes, or hypnosis, or Noah St. John’s Afformations. Afformations are questions. Instead of saying “I have an unshakeable belief in myself and my abilities,” which your inner critic could counter with “No, you don’t, you are a loser and always will be,” Noah would ask “Why do I have such an unshakeable belief in myself? Why does everything I do work out?”, and…oh wow…No answer from the inner critic!!
