Inland Waterways and Drowning Prevention Program The Inland Waterways Program, including: Make the Right Call, Beriversafe and Respect the River Campaigns has engaged with 600 participants and continues to work extensively throughout the Northern Territory. The campaign is delivered in Katherine, Darwin, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs. Highlights included: ● 8 river safety picnics, 8 community events with 183 particpants ● 16 Kalkarindji students travel to Katherine and participate in a Swim & Survive Program and CPR awareness ● 44 Melaleuca students from Melaleuca Refugess centre particpate in a Swim & Survive Program in Darwin and Palmerston The messages are consistent: ● Be Riversafe ● Make the right Call ● If it’s flooded, forget it. The program also reached out to males to look after each other and “make the right call” when they are in, on and around water.
