Strategic Plan 2025-2029

Bringing people together to eliminate drowning and empower communities to be safe around water.

WE BELIEVE

Drowning is preventable.

Being able to swim is a human right.

Having the skills to enjoy the water safely is essential.

Access to safe places to swim contributes to happy, healthy, connected communities.

COMMITMENT TO RECONCILIATION

The rivers, lakes, pools, billabongs and dams in Western Australia bring life to communities.

We celebrate the resilience, survival, wisdom and deep connection to water that continues in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities. Through active listening, strong and respectful relationships we will work to create opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of all ages.

The safe enjoyment of our waterways is a collective responsibility. We can all play a part.

SHAPING OUR FUTURE

Emerging possibilities as we approach 2029

A $10M Swim & Survive Fund to help kids in perpetuity via philanthropy, donations and corporate partnerships with the commercial pool sector.

Our next generation of volunteer swim instructors and lifeguards will make an increasingly significant contribution to empowering individuals and communities.

The Australian Water Safety Strategy leads the development of local drowning prevention plans and action.

New technologies and technical expertise revolutionise the way swimming pools are supervised and assessed.

We contribute our energy and expertise to establishing a sustainable and equitable public pool investment program.

Drowning prevention is multidisciplinary, multisectoral and our structure will evolve to provide backbone support for collective impact and the coordination of shared services.
