32 ND ANNUAL THE VIEW JURIED LANDSCAPE EXHIBITION

JUNE 12 – JULY 15

RECEPTION WITH THE ARTISTS

SATURDAY, JULY 15, 1 – 3 PM

Showcasing both contemporary and traditional approaches to landscape art, The View is an annual, juried exhibition open to Ohio artists working in any medium. Among the topics explored are nature, environmental themes and world issues.

BENJAMIN MONTAGUE (CINCINNATI, OH) MICROPLASTICS

JONATHAN MCFADDEN (LEXINGTON, KY)

JULY 24 – AUGUST 26

Photographer Benjamin Montague documents plastics smaller than 5mm, creating a moment in the gradual break down of these materials into tiny fragments which enter our watersheds and, eventually, our food system. In this series, the objects were collected from various water and soil samples in both urban and rural rivers, lakes and oceans.

Jonathan McFadden creates prints and installations that interpret and process narratives from social media interactions, investigating the ephemeral nature of the platform and its permanence in his site-specific art. Using pop-culture iconography, words and images, he creates densely layered, multi-media objects that transcend recognizable the digital platforms that inspire his work.

ROSEWOOD ROSEWOOD RENOVATION AND REINVENTION

The final phase of Rosewood’s renovation begins this summer! Phase III includes the renovation of the painting and drawing studios, the theater, and the establishment of a printmaking studio.

This summer is notably the first in Rosewood history for camps in air-conditioned classrooms!

This past spring, Rosewood opened newly renovated spaces including ceramics and dance studios, and a darkroom.

The new ceramics studio features state-of-the-art equipment, kilns, other amenities and additional capacity to support creativity in clay, reflecting the community’s desire for more classes and opportunities to participate. Our popular dance studio was also renovated and includes a professional sprung dance floor and additional square footage to allow more space for movement.

Newly dedicated glass and metals studios will open this fall.

For the latest information on the renovation, visit www.playkettering.org.

We look forward to sharing our new spaces with you!
