Welcome readers to the “News from the Steeple Center”, a publication for 55 plus/seniors in the Rosemount community. The Steeple Center houses the majority of the programs and events for those 55 plus. Programs are offered by the City of Rosemount Parks & Rec and the Rosemount Area Seniors.

Munsinger Gardens & Stearns County History Museum*

Bus leaves Community Center at 8:30am and returns at approximately 4:00pm
The first stop of the day will be at the Munsinger & Clemens Gardens, nestled along the shores of the Mississippi River. Enjoy these prestigious and nationally renowned gardens that attract visitors from all over the world. Stroll among the beautiful colors and inhale the garden fragrances. The Virginia Clemens Rose Garden features a series of gardens reminiscent of European gardens. Please note that this is a self-guided tour that will require walking; you are encouraged to wear durable and comfortable footwear. After your stroll through the gardens, enjoy a lunch at the Coyote Moon Grille restaurant overlooking the Territory Golf Club in St. Cloud. Lunch will include an entrée, popover, salad, side dish, beverage, and a dessert. We will then head to the Stearns County History Museum for a guided tour of the collection of photographs, printed materials and artifacts related to the history of Stearns County and its diverse heritage. After the guided tour, take time to explore the two floors of gallery space at your own pace.
Millner Heritage Vineyard*

The day will begin with a stop in St. Bonifacius to purchase meats at Mackenthun Sausage & Deli. They sell handmade smoked meats, sausages, jerky, apple wood smoked bacon and ham, brats, meat pies, braunschweiger and many other outstanding products. We will then enjoy a leisurely ride through the back roads of rural central Minnesota heading to the Millner Heritage Vineyard & Winery near Kingston. This European style winery was designed, built and is operated by the Millner family. The panoramic view of the nineacre estate is breathtaking. A member of the family will explain the process of developing and caring for a vineyard. Hear and see the art of wine making from fresh grapes to completed wine in the bottle. Please note that this is a standing/walking tour, with parts in refrigerated areas. After the tour, enjoy lunch and a wine tasting presentation. The menu will include chicken, a potato and vegetable, bread, coffee, and a cookie. You will have the opportunity to make wine purchases before heading to the last stop of the day, Bongards Creamery Retail Store near Norwood Young America. They have been selling premium cheeses since 1908.

DrumFIT Classics Music, Memory & Motion is a unique cardio drumming program, designed for older adults, that uses movement and rhythm to benefit both the mind and body. Participants benefit from improved memory and cognitive function, increased heart health, enhanced mood as well as reduced stress and anxiety, while drumming along with great generational music.

If you answered yes, then please consider joining our Steeple Center Walking Club! We will meet at Central Park and walk the beautiful Koch Minnesota Trail. One loop is approximately 0.8 miles, and you can make the loop once, twice, or as many times as you would like! All ability levels are welcome.
