Welcome readers to the “News from the Steeple Center”, a publication for 55 plus/seniors in the Rosemount community. The Steeple Center houses the majority of the programs and events for those 55 plus. Programs are offered by the City of Rosemount Parks & Recreation Department.

Thissupportgroupforpeoplewith early-stagedementiaandtheir caregiversprovidesinformation, resourcesandsupportdirectlytotheperson impacted. Alzheimer’sAssociationsupportgroups, conductedbytrainedfacilitatorsareasafeplace forpeoplewithdementiatodevelopasupport system,exchangepracticalinformationonliving wellwithdementia,learnaboutcommunity resources,andtalkthroughissuesandconcerns. All participants in the early-stage support group must go through a pre-screening process by calling the Alzheimer Association’s 24/7 Helpline at 1.800.272.3900. ThePHD/UFO(ProjectsHalfDone/Unfished Objects)groupisnotacraftsgroup,butpeoplewho enjoycreatingworksofartinvariousFiber mediums. Thetypesofworkinvolvequilting, embroidery,woolwork,needlepoint,crossstitch, hardanger,knitting,crocheting,crewel,woolfelting andanyothertypesoffiberart. Peoplejointhe groupnotonlytoworkontheirprojectsbuttolearn fromothers,showofftheirfinishedwork,andto socialize.
