Bus leaves Community Center at 11:30am and returns at approximately 4:30pm Spend the afternoon at the beautiful Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis while taking in a classic. All rise for Academy Award® winner Aaron Sorkin’s adaptation of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning masterwork. Rolling Stone gives the show 5 stars, calling it “an emotionally shattering landmark production of an American classic,” and New York Magazine calls it “a real phenomenon. Majestic and incandescent, it’s filled with breath and nuance and soul.” With direction by Tony Award® winner Bartlett Sher, To Kill a Mockingbird, “the greatest novel of all time” (Chicago Tribune) has quickly become “one of the greatest plays in history” (NPR). Emmy Award® winning actor Richard Thomas will play the role of Atticus Finch in the national tour. Tickets are on the main floor, side seating, and concessions will be available for purchase.

Bus leaves Community Center at 9am and returns at approximately 3pm Head to the beautiful countryside near Hamel, Minnesota to visit Skyrock Farm & Carousels with its rolling hills, maple trees and beautiful horses. We will start with a tour of the Skyrock Carousel building to get an informative and historical look at the antique dance organs. These beautifully restored musical marvels play the happiest music on earth. Learn about the restoration process of gold leafing, and how 100 year old art is preserved. See a carousel horse collection and learn why the men who carved the ornate figures have a place in history. We will then enjoy a hearty pot roast home cooked meal prepared Minnesota Style, using fresh premier ingredients. Includes beverage and dessert. After lunch, take in a horse jumping program inside the climate controlled arena. This is a premier horse hunter jumper training facility. You will see the beautiful animals and talented riders. It will demonstrate how Skyrock Riding Academy teaches horsemanship. They develop the horse’s natural athletic ability and train riders of all ages. Experience the excitement of high jumping horses from a front row seat!
