How It Started?
Nadja Buckenberger faced many challenges when she first opened the doors of the Bliss Boutique Hotel in Breda in 2014. She quickly realised that the traditional method of running a smaller hotel – mostly with handwritten reservations and spreadsheets - was not ideal. The process was not only labour-intensive but left opportunity for human error to creep in.
She couldn’t find a single affordable solution that could manage all aspects of her property. That’s when she decided to join forces with her partner, tech entrepreneur Tymen van Dyl to create one that could.
The software worked wonders for the Bliss Hotel and soon piqued the interest of other hotels in the region. Soon it was clear that there was a great demand for this all-in-one solution! They officially launched RoomRaccoon in January 2017, and six months later, they had over 100 hotels on board.

Nadja and Tymen began building software that would solve Nadja’s three central pain points by combining a Property Management System (PMS) with a channel manager and booking engine – a technological feat!
