TESS + JORDAN

Tess and Jordan met during the summer before their senior year at Iowa State University. A casual night out on the patio of a campus hot spot turned into something unforgettable when Jordan walked over and introduced himself. After that, they were inseparable. Fast forward two and a half years later, the two planned a trip to Salt Lake City. After hiking to the summit of Mount Olympus and soaking in the breathtaking views, Jordan got down on one knee and proposed. Within days, Tess had accepted a job in Utah, said “Yes!” to forever, and the two packed up their lives in Kansas City, Missouri, to start their next chapter in the mountains together.

KELLY + PAUL

Kelly and Paul were introduced by mutual friends during what was supposed to be a quick weekend escape. Paul, living in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the time, had traveled to Houston, Texas, to visit his college tennis teammate, Austin, who happened to be Kelly’s co-resident in plastic surgery residency. The pair instantly hit it off and after another visit and a memorable getaway to Park City, they officially began their long-distance romance. After nearly three years of dating, Paul brought things full circle by popping the question at the Pendry Hotel, one of the first places they visited together. He got down on one knee on the snow-covered rooftop, then surprised Kelly with a celebration at The Lodge at Blue Sky, surrounded by friends and family who had secretly flown in to share in the moment.

HALLE + DAX

Halle and Dax first met at Utah State University while skiing at the nearby Beaver Mountain Ski Resort. After dating for two and a half years, Dax decided it was time to ask Halle to be his wife. At just 14, he had spent a summer bike racing in Belgium and stumbled upon a picturesque bridge in Bruges. He remembered thinking, “I want to propose to my future wife here one day.” A decade later, he surprised Halle with a European holiday to explore the Christmas markets, and when they reached that very same bridge, Dax got down on one knee and asked her to be his forever.

KATIE + SAM

After moving to Arizona, Katie began working out with her sister and brother-in-law at the gym. Little did she know, she would meet her match in Sam, and soon sweat sessions turned into something more. After dating for almost a year, Sam planned the ultimate surprise getaway to Heber City. Following a scenic lunch and stroll through Deer Valley, he suggested stopping at Stein Eriksen Lodge to meet Katie’s sister for hot chocolate. But instead of her sister, Katie found Sam on one of the lodge’s picturesque terraces, down on one knee, asking her to be his wife.

ALTA - SNOWPINE LODGE

Emma & Gavin

Emma and Gavin, after connecting on a dating app, went on one date and have been inseparable ever since. After ten months of dating, Gavin proposed on Thanksgiving Day while they were at his family’s cabin in Arizona. Under the guise of taking his dad’s new car for a test drive, he led Emma to a picturesque field at sunset where a bouquet of flowers waited on a small hill. With just the two of them present, Gavin asked her to be his wife, making for an intimate moment they’ll never forget.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

I was lucky enough to work with Everson Events with Kate Washburn as the lead on my wedding. I was seriously not stressed at all. She knew how to bring my vision to life!

Savannah McKenzie Photography was incredible to work with. I seriously trust her with my life. She captured the most beautiful pictures ever and I could not be more pleased with the results. She is also just so fun and awesome to be around. Felt like we were just friends having a photoshoot!

Emma and Gavin planned a colorful, vintage-inspired celebration at Snowpine Lodge, a venue Emma had admired years before meeting her groom. With 120 guests gathered to witness their day, the festivities began with a heartfelt sealing in the Draper Temple. Emma wore a sleek, modern gown from Pritchétt Bridal, accessorized with a pleated veil, before changing into a chic white mini for the final hour of the reception. Gavin looked dashing in a brown suit paired with his grandfather’s bolo tie, adding a sentimental western touch. Bright, whimsical florals in shades of orange, yellow and lilac were sprinkled throughout the day, from the bridal bouquet to the intimate reception tables. A trendy rectangular sheet cake designed by Aspen Cake Design, topped with playful pops of color, served as the sweetest finale.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Don’t stress too much on the little details and focus on the time you spend with your partner. Find ways to show you love each other and serve each other every single day!”

Teji & Jack

High school sweethearts, Teji and Jack, first met in sixth grade when Teji transferred schools and was seated next to Jack on her very first day. The pair became instant friends after Teji complimented his drawing. They began dating in high school, and seven years into their relationship, Jack proposed at the top of the mountain at Snowbird following a cozy weekend at Oktoberfest. “We walked around and had the most beautiful views, with bright, colorful trees down below, but it was also the first snowfall of the season and the peaks were frosted with snow,” Teji shared. “It was just the two of us and he got down on one knee and proposed on top of the peak! I said ‘Yes!’ of course.”

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Everyone kept telling us that the day would just fly by and to try and be in the moment. They were so right. The day did fly by so fast, so try and appreciate the day and moment.”

Their intimate celebration of 65 guests began with a ceremony held beneath white parasols, set against panoramic desert views. For dinner, guests gathered at long tables on the lawn, styled with minimalist florals and black bentwood chairs beneath soft string lights. Teji wore a custom SAINT Bridal Couture gown for the ceremony before slipping into a highlow bubble dress, reimagined from a silk gown her sister had found during a trip to Seattle, Washington. Signature drinks like The Honeymoon and Montgomery Mule were served alongside a fruittopped cake and late-night Café Rio salads. One of the most memorable moments came when Jack’s sister, a professional aerialist, performed for the group, something the couple had dreamt about for years.

second-look

I decided to try on wedding dresses just for fun at a consignment store on a trip to Seattle to visit my sister who was post transplant. I fell in love with this dress. My sister bought it for me months later when it was still there and I knew I had to use it as a second look. I took it to the dry cleaners, big mistake, and they ruined the bottom. The silk was just not the same! When getting my first outfit altered I took the Seattle dress with me and my amazing seamstress and I created a high low bubble dress. She gave it a second life and it turned out even better than I expected!

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND Izzie, our lovely photographer! I could say so much. She took our engagements also and really made us feel so comfortable throughout all our events and photos. She is truly so talented and amazing at what she does. By the way, she is the ultimate hype woman!

Culinary Crafts was so amazing, they made sure everything was taken care of on the day and went above and beyond. Their staff was professional and took care of everything. It was completely stress free because of them.

- THE RED EARTH VENUE

David & Jeremy

David and Jeremy first connected in Denver, Colorado, during the early days of the shutdown. Opting for caution, their first date took place over FaceTime, but they decided to meet in person the very next day because they knew there was something special. After three years together, they planned a trip to Europe, visiting London, Paris and Italy. One afternoon in Paris, Jeremy casually asked, “Do you want to go ring shopping?” David happily agreed! They found their way to Cartier on the Champs-Élysées, selecting two perfect rings to commemorate their love. It wasn’t until a few days later, in Positano, that David surprised Jeremy on their balcony with a selfie request, only to turn around and find him down on one knee.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

Honestly, all of our vendors exceeded our expectations! They took our vision and really made it come to life. Since we had a small, intimate wedding and our overall design aesthetic was quite different to what had been done at The Red Earth Venue, all of our vendors seemed to embrace this and really helped things come to life.

Matt Davidson was the best photographer! From our adventure photo session at Dead Horse Point State Park to our day-of, the photos exceeded our expectations.

Valen Hunter created floral designs that were so dreamy. We had this idea early on to do a serpentine table setup and have flowers connect each table. We wanted to use candle light and mirror accents to really bring out the surroundings and what Val was able to accomplish was amazing!

Chef Ken and Becky from Moab Private Chef were amazing to work with. They brought their global cuisine ideas to locally-sourced dishes.

The June Brothers were the perfect acoustic duo for our day-of. Spencer and Alex were so talented and really grounded the entire event with some awesome tunes. Throughout the process they were also very willing to take special song requests!

Tara Baker was the glue for everything and the perfect day-of coordinator. When we met Tara in person a year before we knew immediately she would be the perfect person to help make our day come to life!

David and Jeremy planned an intimate, elegant wedding in the red rocks of Utah at The Red Earth Venue for just 19 of their closest friends and family. The couple embraced the dramatic desert backdrop, keeping their design timeless and refined to let the natural beauty shine. They chose classic black Ralph Lauren suits from the Purple Label collection, accented with velvet bow ties for a touch of texture. A serpentine table dressed with mirror accents, candlelight and dreamy floral arrangements by Tellurian Events set the stage for a dinner that glowed as the sun dipped below the horizon. And to close out the celebration, acoustic performances by the June Brothers and a globally inspired menu by Moab Private Chef created unforgettable moments.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“1. Enjoy the engagement! We know how stressful it can be to plan a wedding, especially if it’s larger, but that doesn’t mean you have to jump right into planning it and bypass the joy and love of the engagement. Really be intentional about taking the time and appreciating THAT big life moment as well!

2. Make the wedding yours! There are a lot of standard and typical wedding traditions, which are amazing, but don’t feel like that means you have to be boxed in and can’t make your day-of special to you!

3. Ask! We’re big believers that you don’t get what you don’t ask for. It’s also ok if the answer is ‘no’ but at least you tried! There were a lot of nontraditional one-off asks throughout our day-of but it started with the simple ask itself. Most of our one-offs were in lieu of something so if you are making your day yours, definitely see what your vendors have to think about your ideas!

4. Go local! When/if possible, support local vendors wherever your wedding is!  Most of our vendors, aside from music, are all based in Moab!  Not only was it great to support the local community, each of our vendors also had worked with one another countless times so it made planning so easy and the day-of stress free!”

Heather & Humberto

Heather and Humberto connected when Humberto slid into Heather’s DMs during a trip to Alberta, Canada. Their connection was instant, and just a few weeks later, during a lively dance party at a retired army base for Heather’s dad’s 70th birthday, Humberto told Heather he wanted to marry her. Without hesitation, the two decided to elope within a month of dating, choosing the rugged beauty of Utah as the backdrop for their vows. Heather wore a simple yet stunning silk gown handmade in Ukraine by Serenity Wear, paired with unique earrings crafted by a Métis colleague from the Northwest Territories. She carried a striking arrangement of sunset-toned blooms and textural greenery. Meanwhile, Humberto looked sharp in a custom tobacco-colored suit by Third Son Tailor Shop, perfectly complementing the desert hues around them. After exchanging vows in a private ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated with an intimate dinner at Black Sage Restaurant, where a surprise bottle of champagne sent by friends back home turned the evening into an unforgettable ending to their elopement adventure.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

Kayla Bertagnolli, our photographer, was amazing from the start. Communication was easy and she made very helpful suggestions that incorporated what we were looking for but was also very receptive to any changes or suggestions no matter how close to the big day. On the day of the elopement she organized everything, kept us on track and took the most incredible pictures ever.

Michael Foley, our officiant. We met him via Zoom for 30 minutes two days before the ceremony and he put together an incredible script that had us laughing and crying.

Bloomers Flowers put together the most beautiful bouquet and accommodated our flower preferences and colors as well as pick up. They were amazing.

Ethereal Salon is accommodating, lighthearted and fun and did an incredible job with my blowout.

Black Sage Restaurant in Open Sky Glamping Resort, where we had our post ceremony dinner, provided incredible hospitality, entertainment, and dinner. We had a private server and the best table in the house. We booked them on OpenTable and they put together everything based off the few things we said in our booking.

Peter, the owner of Rocky Mountain Custom Jewellery, was incredible and helped us design our wedding bands as well as Heather’s wedding ring. Heather wanted a raw diamond and we could not find a distributor in Canada. Peter went above and beyond and found us a distributor in the United States. He used this diamond to create Heather’s dream ring.

SALT LAKE COUNTY - MILLCREEK INN

Hannah & Eliza

Hannah and Eliza happened to live just a few blocks away from one another in Brooklyn, New York, and eventually ended up meeting at a small bar between their apartments. After dating for two years, Eliza proposed during a casual walk with their dog along a sunny, windy beach on Long Island. As they strolled along the sand, Eliza pulled a small ring box out of her jacket pocket, struggled to open it, and said, “You know I really love you, maybe we could get married? There’s a ring in this box, if you say ‘yes,’ you can keep it.” Hannah said “Yes!” right away, and the two continued their walk, savoring sandwiches on the boardwalk and soaking in the simple, perfect moment.

Hannah and Eliza planned a simple wedding at Millcreek Inn in Salt Lake City showcasing the lush colors of fall. Hannah wore a custom deep green, three-piece suit with a colorful birds of paradise lining, while Eliza looked stunning in a Victoria Beckham gown with gathered detailing and contrast stitching. Surrounded by 90 of their closest family and friends, their dog stole the show during the ceremony, charming guests with kisses and excitement as she made her way down the aisle. Vibrant, organic florals by GALORE Floral brought their vision to life, with a breathtaking ceremony arch and a lush bouquet featuring richly hued dahlias, delicate ranunculus and textured foliage. Afterwards, everyone enjoyed a candlelight dinner featuring signature Mezcal Manhattans and Beehive Gin and Tonics. The celebration carried late into the night as Diamond Empire Band kept the dance floor packed.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

It’s hard to choose — we loved all of our vendors!

Alyssa Sorenson won our trust from the first intro call! She had a great read of who we are, as a couple, and captured the energy of the wedding, each candid telling a story. It allowed us to really be present on the day, and it felt like she was one of the guests!

Meagan Bertelson (GALORE Floral) pulled together our scattered thoughts to create something that exceeded anything close to what we imagined, especially with the arbor and bouquets! She communicated a vibe that was cohesive and felt true to both us and the setting, and we were able to feel how excited she was about all of it!

Kara Lubsen (In Arms Jewelry) was the only person we wanted to work with to design our fancy rings. She has such a cool aesthetic and vision, and uses that to patiently advise and work with her clients until they are over the moon about their rings.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Choose vendors you trust and believe in! For us, selecting an all-inclusive venue that could handle the food, tables and chairs, and the bar was key. It simplified the decision-making process, and Millcreek Inn did an amazing job bringing everything together!

Also, don’t take yourself too seriously. We knew a million things could go wrong — we didn’t even rehearse, or practice dancing — but that mindset helped us keep expectations in check. It was really fun to have so many people we love in the same place for the weekend — we wanted to focus on enjoying the moment.”

Sydney & Maximillian

Sydney and Max met on a sunny Sunday afternoon in San Francisco’s Fort Mason Park in California. What started as a casual hangout with a mutual friend quickly turned into something more. Their first date was just days before the Covid lockdown began, they both decided to leave San Francisco, and go back to their family homes; Sydney back to Park City and Max back to New York. However, the two kept their spark alive through FaceTime calls. A few months later, they both returned and everything fell into place for the pair to become a couple. Three years later, Max got down on one knee in Tunnel Tops Park in The Presidio featuring stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge. After Sydney said “Yes!,” they rollerbladed down to a sailboat waiting at the St. Francis Yacht Club for a champagne sail across the bay, followed by a surprise celebration at Bar Bocce complete with their closest friends jumping and cheering from the patio.

favorite thing purchased for your wedding day

One of our favorite things we bought for the wedding was a traditional camcorder. We passed it to our friends and family throughout the day and encouraged them to film whatever they wanted… special moments, behind-the-scenes, and sweet interviews with each other. What we ended up with was a totally candid, joyfilled time capsule of the day through their eyes. The footage is shaky, hilarious, emotional and absolutely perfect. It captured the energy of the weekend in a way nothing else could.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

We felt incredibly lucky to work with such talented, kind, and thoughtful creatives throughout the entire process. Evan from Saltd who crafted an entirely custom food and beverage menu for our cocktail hour, Ashley, from Tinge Floral who was a true artist in her creations throughout the weekend, and Emerald City Band for their incredible music performance that kept the energy on the dancefloor all night long! And, of course, none of it would have been possible without our amazing event planner, Ruth Skidmore. Ruth is a true visionary! She brought so much creativity, passion and heart to our wedding weekend. We came in with lots of ideas and energy but weren’t quite sure how to turn that into a cohesive wedding aesthetic. Ruth not only helped shape our vision, she elevated it, going above and beyond to bring our dreams to life and became a dear friend in the process!

For their September wedding weekend in Park City, Sydney and Max envisioned a celebration that was playful, colorful and elevated. The welcome party set the tone with vibrant cocktails, a pasta bar and custom napkins featuring illustrations and lists of their favorite things. With guests traveling in from all over the country, every detail of the weekend was intentionally curated to feel like a glimpse into the couple’s world.

The ceremony took place in Sydney’s childhood backyard, an intimate setting framed by golden fall foliage and the soft peaks of the Wasatch Mountains. With wild and earthy florals by Tinge Floral surrounding the platform, Sydney and Max exchanged vows in front of 250 of their friends and family. The scene transitioned as guests were whisked away to the Montage Deer Valley for dinner and dancing. Inside, long tables layered in lush textiles and bright florals brought the colorful theme to life. After dinner, a mariachi band made a surprise entrance to guide guests down to the dance floor for an unforgettable evening where guests were greeted with personalized espresso cups at the espresso bar and custom trucker hats bearing their wedding weekend logo. With unique touches like Culture Espresso cookies flown in from New York City, New York, and a custom groom’s cake modeled after the Stanley Cup, it was a highly personal evening for the couple and a night to remember.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Remember to make it fun! For many of us, this is the first big ‘group project’ we do with our partners, and while there are natural stresses in planning a wedding, it’s important to enjoy the process and keep it light. Plan a dinner or a night out where you combine wedding todo’s with things that make you happy. Our motto for the year was ‘happy hard work’ and we tried our best to live up to that. ENJOY the process, it’s a wild ride and one you will look back on and cherish.”

Hannah & Zac

Hannah and Zac, like many modern couples, met with a right swipe on Bumble. “Our first date was a comedy show, which, in hindsight, set the perfect tone for our relationship. We laughed the whole night, and from that point on, we were pretty much inseparable,” shared Hannah. After dating for a year, Zac planned a once-in-a-lifetime proposal at Amangiri in Southern Utah. What began as a scenic helicopter ride turned into a jaw-dropping moment atop Tower Butte, where Zac got down on one knee with the Lake Powell canyons as their backdrop. To top it all off, the entire proposal was captured by a hidden photographer.

I love the idea of scent being tied to memory, so having a signature wedding scent was something I was really excited about. We chose Le Labo Santal 26—a warm, smoky blend of sandalwood, cedar and leather, softened by a hint of spice and just the right amount of sweetness. It felt elevated, grounding and completely us.

We incorporated Le Labo Santal 26 candles throughout our reception, including oversized concrete ones that were a total splurge but so worth it. They set the perfect mood—low, glowing light and that distinct, sophisticated fragrance that made the space feel warm and intimate. Even better, we now have them in our home, and every time I light one, I’m instantly transported back.

We also picked coordinating scents by Le Labo for the weekend. Zac wore Thé Noir 29, deep and woodsy, and I chose Another 13, clean, musky, with a little floral sweetness. Every time we wear them now, it’s like a little time capsule of the best weekend ever.

songs that made everyone dance

Our DJ invited everyone to join us at the end of our first dance song, which was a really special moment!

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND Julie from Ruby Jane Events was truly the MVP of this entire process. She made planning seamless, handled every little detail with grace and somehow always knew exactly what we needed before we did. She brought our vision to life in a way that felt effortless, but I know it took a million moving pieces behind the scenes to make that happen. She’s magic.

Prescott Van Leer, our videographer, wasn’t just documenting the day—he was a part of it. He was everywhere, capturing every tiny, in-between moment without ever feeling intrusive. Everyone loved him, and he somehow made being on camera feel totally natural, which is no small feat. An absolute gem of a human.

Meghan Savage—what can I even say? Her photos are everything. We trusted her completely, and it paid off in the form of images we’ll treasure forever. But beyond that, we became great friends through this process. She even came out to Denver, Colorado, to work with me on branding photos! Just the best energy to have around, and so insanely talented.

Meg Ortiz from Harvest Floral, the way she transformed our space with florals was unreal. I told her from the beginning that I trusted her vision completely, and she delivered something beyond anything I could have imagined. The hanging installation above our dancefloor. Showstopper. Every detail was thoughtful, intentional and breathtaking. Just a dream to work with.

Hannah and Zac, with the help of Ruby Jane Events, planned a modern, organic wedding for 150 friends and family at The Lodge at Blue Sky. The weekend kicked off with a spa day at the resort for the bride, bridesmaids and moms to enjoy a moment of relaxation before the festivities. The couple then welcomed guests with a chic rehearsal dinner complete with an editorial-style wedding newspaper that shared their love story. On the wedding day, guests were greeted by sweeping views of the Wasatch Mountains, rows of natural wood chairs and a ceremony space grounded with soft, sculptural florals by Harvest Floral. Hannah wore a stunning gown from KYHA Bride, a modern take on the ballgown with duchess satin, a structured bodice and dramatic low back. She accessorized her look with Jimmy Choo pumps and a diamond bracelet gifted by Zac. Inside the reception barn, long tables glowed with candlelight and minimal, textural centerpieces in soft neutral tones. A suspended floral installation above the dance floor made a breathtaking statement as guests dined beside flickering Le Labo candles, each selected for their signature scent, before the party truly came alive. And if you ask the groom, the most important part of the wedding? “The happiness of my bride.” Safe to say, he absolutely nailed it.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Keep it simple. Choose vendors you trust, give them creative freedom, and then let go. The best decisions we made were the ones we didn’t overthink. Most importantly, stay close to each other. It’s easy to get pulled in a million directions, but we made a point to never leave each other’s side on our wedding day. Some of our favorite moments were the unplanned ones —sneaking a look at the ceremony before walking down the aisle, holding hands under the table at dinner, being completely surprised by how incredible everyone’s speeches were, and dancing like crazy being surrounded by all our favorite people. Everyone says it goes by fast, and that’s true, but we were present for all of it. We soaked it in, and we wouldn’t change a thing. It was perfect.”

PARK CITY - THE ST. REGIS DEER VALLEY

Darla & Alex

After moving back to Boston, Massachusetts, after college, Darla and Alex were introduced through their mutual friend, Jack. Three years later, during Darla’s family’s annual trip to The Mount Washington Hotel in New Hampshire, Alex planned a heartwarming proposal. On their way to dinner with her family, they stopped to take photos, and Alex got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. But, the surprises didn’t end there! Darla’s brother had secretly flown in from Florida, along with her two best friends, to celebrate the special moment with them.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“The wedding will be perfect! Don’t sweat the small stuff, it is important to remember how lucky you are to be marrying your best friend! This is the one time where everyone you love will be together to celebrate the two of you starting your lives together, enjoy every second!”

Darla and Alex went on to plan a holiday chic wedding at The St. Regis Deer Valley for just under 100 guests. Set against a backdrop of snow-dusted evergreens and frost-kissed mountaintops, their day felt like something straight out of a winter fairytale. Darla wore a romantic ballgown from Beccar with a timeless sweetheart neckline and floral jacquard detailing. She completed her look with delicate pearl heels, soft waves and sentimental touches like a blue heart cut from her late father’s hockey jersey, tucked into the lining of her dress. The couple braved a blizzard for their first look, but thankfully the skies cleared just in time for their ceremony, a moment Darla described as truly magical. Her brother walked her down the aisle and officiated the ceremony, surrounded by sculptural white florals from Merci Floral and sweeping mountain views.

Afterward, guests headed inside for a candlelit reception where towering glass hurricanes and snowy blooms mirrored the season outside. During the dance party, trays of Espresso Martinis rimmed with crushed candy canes made a surprise entrance, just the festive pick-me-up needed to keep the energy high. Darla traded in her ballgown for a feathered mini dress from Revolve for the celebration, and the couple danced the night away with their favorite people before continuing the party at the St. Regis Bar.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

One vendor that made our day so special was our photographer, Ashlee Brooke! We met Ashlee a year before our wedding when we were skiing in Deer Valley. We wanted to do engagement photos for our save the dates and booked a session with her. From the moment we met her, we knew she had to be our wedding photographer! She was so easy to work with, telling us exactly what to do, but making it all feel so natural. On the day of the wedding, I was stressed as we were running late! She was the one who pulled me aside and assured me that it was not a big deal, and that we will just move things around. She was so fun to work with and her photos came back amazing! We did our first look and photos in a blizzard! It was so cold and so snowy, she was encouraging and made it so fun that we braved the cold and the wind and got the best photos! I couldn’t be happier with Ashlee!

Alyssa & Zach

Alyssa and Zach first met up for a casual lunch date at Chipotle, but what was supposed to be a quick meal turned into a 12-hour first date, complete with endless conversation, a spontaneous trip to the movies and a singalong to “Come and Get Your Love” during the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 end credits. Alyssa recalled, “It hit me that I really was finding my love right then and there!” Just four months later, with Zach preparing for a deployment with the U.S. Air Force, they both knew their connection was something rare. While visiting family in Texas, Zach planned a full day of activities before proposing by the waterfalls in San Antonio’s Japanese Tea Garden. Alyssa, of course, said “Yes!” and the two went on to plan a whimsical, garden-party wedding for 100 of their closest friends and family at Bellissimo Gardens at Tuscany in Salt Lake City.

Our two dogs were the inspiration. They couldn’t attend the wedding due to the venue’s restrictions (totally understandable), so this was one of the ways we included them. We had a Lemon Drop (“The Gidget”) for our sweet and sassy little corgi Gidget. She is our baby girl. The second was a Jack and Coke (“The Luke”) for our boy Luke, who my husband rescued while living in Texas before he moved to Utah. We also had a bar sign with our babies’ faces on them, which is one of our favorite momentos. It’s on display at our home bar.

We chose two flavors, each an alternating layer: one almond, the other red velvet with chocolate chips. The frosting was cream cheese. It was the best cake we’d ever had, hands-down.

song that made everyone dance

“The Cupid Shuffle,” Our friends begged us to add it during the reception and we caved. It turned out to be SO fun!

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

So many talented people helped make our magical wedding a reality. We were so lucky to work with all of them! Braelynn of Belle Bodas is an icon through and through. She took our ideas and manifested them into something ten times better than anything I could’ve imagined. She also ensured everything was not only smooth day-of, but seamless. Not a single thing was out of place. She was the woman behind the scenes keeping everything on time and perfectly executed. Braelynn, you are a wedding genius! Thank you for helping us with everything.

Another talented artist who deserves a shout-out is Elyssa Anderson, our hair and makeup artist. Elyssa’s presence is calming but also genuinely uplifting, like she carries a bit of sunshine with her. She made all us girls feel confident, and she stayed by my side touching up my makeup and asking if I needed anything. My hair and makeup peaked on my wedding day because of her, and she made me feel super comfortable while trying new styles like fake eyelashes. She calls herself a bride’s personal fairy godmother, and that is so accurate!

Also, I adored our cake baker, Annie Pugmire, and our florist, Meg Ortiz of Harvest Floral. Both were the sweetest people ever and SO freaking talented. They both went out of their way to give us the best experiences. I’m still obsessed with our floral ceremony arch and our stunning cake, both literal works of art. We’re for sure asking Annie to make our anniversary cakes!

Lastly, Zach loved Handel’s, who scooped our favorite ice cream flavors out of an adorable ice cream cart. They created a fun experience our guests are still talking about. They were professional, friendly, and truly added something extra special to our wedding.

Set against a backdrop of towering trees and late-summer blooms, Alyssa and Zach exchanged vows beneath a lush floral arch surrounded by pastel-toned arrangements that lined the aisle.

Alyssa wore a romantic gown from Madi Lane Bridal featuring botanical lace and a soft tulle bow, paired with an heirloom engagement ring that’s been passed down through four generations. The seating chart, a blush pink display adorned with woven baskets of florals, set the tone for the reception, where guests were welcomed with signature cocktails named after the couple’s two dogs and treated to custom watercolor portraits, a charming keepsake from the celebration. Guests dined al fresco beneath the trees and ended the evening with scoops of ice cream from Handel’s adorable cart. A floral-adorned cake by Annie Pugmire served as the sweetest night cap before the newlyweds made their getaway in a vintage mint green Ford Thunderbird.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“It’s easy to get stressed and overwhelmed as the small details start to pile up. But don’t get so overwhelmed with the planning that you forget to enjoy the process. Also, if you can, it’s fun to carve out a few moments on your wedding day where it’s just the two of you. They say the day flies by, and it really does. Having even a few minutes alone together helps you soak it all in and truly feel the magic of the moment.”

Emily & Justin
SALT LAKE CITY - THE COMMERCIAL CLUB

Emily and Justin met on Hinge, never expecting a dating app to lead to forever. However, six months later, Justin was down on one knee asking Emily to marry him. He planned an eventful day revisiting special spots from their relationship and ended with an intimate proposal at a dock on Utah Lake decorated with rose petals and candles. With just four months to plan, Emily and Justin went on to plan a refined-meets-playful wedding celebration for 80 of their closest friends and family at The Commercial Club. Emily shared, “After researching practically every indoor venue in the Salt Lake area, it wasn’t even a question that The Commercial Club had to be my venue. It is beautiful, unique, intricate and intimate. Everything from the chandeliers to the ceilings was calling my name.”

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

First of all, Everson Events did my wedding coordination with Maren as the lead. Her and her team were INCREDIBLE. The day went so seamlessly and perfectly because of them. There is only one main space in the venue we booked and that is where our ceremony, dinner, and reception were held so the space had to be flipped several times. I was so nervous, but they made it go off without a hitch. They were absolute angels sent from above and are so good at what they do.

My florist, Emmie, is also the sweetest person alive and made my flower dreams come true. Flowers were so important to me and she captured my vision so well.

Lastly, my photographer Sadie Lawrence. As you can see from my wedding photos, she captured the day so beautifully. She was so knowledgeable and good at directing people for photos on the wedding day and made me and my husband feel so comfortable the whole day.

Emily planned her dream wedding alongside her sister, a wedding videographer with Bigelow Film Co., which she said, “was such a special experience and without her expertise and eye my wedding wouldn’t have been half of what it was.” Together, they selected a soft pastel color palette for the florals and decor, bringing a touch of whimsy to the historic interiors. Emily wore a custom satin gown from Pritchétt Bridal, designed around the ruffle-edge veil she fell in love with first. Her look was paired with pearl accessories, including a bracelet worn by her mother on her own wedding day. And for Justin? He wore a classic black tux with a subtle floral jacquard pattern that added the perfect amount of texture and flair. For the reception, guests enjoyed a soda bar, chocolate fountain and a flower bar where they could build their own bouquets as favors. Emily changed into the Thumbelina dress from JessaKae for dancing and the send-off, complete with a mini veil, ruffle socks and white Nikes.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“I genuinely have zero regrets from my wedding day because my husband and I were true to what we wanted, not what we thought everyone else wanted from us. It is your wedding day!!! I would also say that sometimes brides are too concerned about their wedding being too ‘trendy’ and not ‘timeless enough’ but I say that is just so silly. If you like the all white flower look because you think it is beautiful and everything you want, then go for it! But if you’re just making wedding decisions to ensure it will be timeless but you don’t really love it, that is so so dumb. Just choose what you love and own it. If you look back in 30 years and your kids cringe at your wedding dress, it won’t matter because you will have the memory of how beautiful you felt on your wedding day and how much joy there was on that day. That’s all that matters.”

Alyssa & Jake
WEBER COUNTY - SNOWBASIN RESORT: COVER STORY

Alyssa and Jake met at a coal mine in Wyoming, Alyssa a college summer hire and Jake a full-time employee. Looking back, Alyssa shared, “We had been eying each other but neither of us knew it. We finally got put on a task together and through conversation, Jake had mentioned spending the evening at the rodeo with his friends, which is where I just happened to also show up and run into him. The rest is history!” Nine years later, Jake planned a surprise getaway to Moab, complete with a stay at Red Cliff Lodge. Near the end of their trip, he told Alyssa they had a special dinner where their golden doodle, Nash, could join. Instead, he pulled into a small airport for what he claimed was a plane tour. Mid-flight, they landed in Canyonlands National Park, where Jake led Alyssa to a cliffside lookout. She turned to find him on one knee, their “fellow passenger” revealing themselves as the photographer. “We both happy cried, Nash got the zoomies, and we celebrated with champagne! Best. Day. Ever,” Alyssa shared.

With a love for the mountains, Alyssa and Jake planned a romantic western wedding for 100 of their closest friends and family at Snowbasin Resort. With their dog Nash by their side, the couple exchanged personal vows at the base of the mountain, framed by lush slopes and gorgeous white florals by Olive & Sage Floral. Alyssa looked stunning in a sleek, form-fitting gown from The Bridal Studio, styled with a chic updo and statement pearl drop earrings. Later in the evening, she surprised Jake with an outfit change, slipping into a playful mini adorned with floral appliqué. After dancing the night away to the beats of DJ PBABY, guests waved whimsical fairy light wands during the couple’s grand exit, creating a magical, twinkling send-off.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

Having quality vendors truly made the biggest difference in the wedding planning process and in making our wedding day so special.

Our experienced vendors were able to answer any wedding questions we had along the way even if that wasn’t their specific hired specialty.

First up: BROGAN!! Our photographer is so so special and we love her so much! We really can’t put into words how incredible she truly is and what she brings to the table. Brogan brings the type of magic and excitement you feel as a kid on Christmas morning, for love, weddings and photography. Throughout our whole wedding planning process, she was an amazing communicator and was been so supportive with EVERYTHING surrounding our wedding. Aside from being our photographer, she has been our hype woman throughout this whole process, especially during our photo sessions. Each time, we have always felt so comfortable and effortlessly beautiful. Every single smile, laugh, cry and emotion that was captured is 100% genuine and we are so thankful to have had her, she’s one in a million.

Emma, the event sales manager at Snowbasin, was so amazing throughout our whole wedding planning process as well. She has been a great communicator and was also very supportive and patient through planning all of our venue details. She helped our wedding day come to life beginning to end and we were so thankful to have such a comprehensive and personable lady by our side.

Lastly, Nicole and her team from Pink Seams, really went above and beyond for my wedding dresses! Each time I went in for a fitting, they were so welcoming and kind. Nicole is a perfectionist and believes that all brides deserve to look flawless on their wedding day and she does just that. She went all out to make sure my dress fit PERFECTLY leading up to the wedding day and made me feel so beautiful in the process. She even had a seamstress on call JUST IN CASE they needed to make any changes the day before the wedding. Having a dress that fit my body perfectly was the cherry on top.

drama

When Creative Director Christie Q Photography and Morgan of In Frames Photography began dreaming up this editorial, they were drawn to the magic of winter, an often overlooked season for weddings. Inspired by European vintage aesthetics and the haunting elegance of winter, they transformed The Belvedere Provo, one of Utah’s most striking new venues, into a cinematic setting. A bold palette of deep reds, moody plums and rich browns brought their vision to life with depth, warmth and grandeur. Draped in silver and ivory fabric from floor to ceiling by Moonlight Utah, the space struck a perfect balance of softness meets edge and light meets dark.

SheLettering’s hand-stained invitation suite set the tone with swirls of wine hues and delicate calligraphy. The bride wore a sheer lace corseted gown by Arava Polak from Renee Atelier, complete with a cathedral veil from Jane Rhyan. For the reception, she changed into a structured satin gown from Rime Arodaky that exuded Old Hollywood glamour. Meanwhile, the groom was dressed in a classic black tux and bowtie which added a touch of timelessness to the celebration.

The ceremony space came to life with a striking floral installation by Flora and Fern. “Her arrangements became the heartbeat of the shoot, layering depth, color and texture against soft, neutral fabrics,” Christie shared. A sculptural display of calla lilies, roses and amaranthus climbed toward the ceiling in wild, organic movement, creating a setting that felt both romantic and fearless. To elevate the moment even further, Erick with Miner Music DJ introduced a moody fog effect that drifted gently through the air as the bride and groom exchanged vows.

Inside the reception room, a serpentine tablescape flowed like fabric down the center of the room. Rentals from Diamond Event & Tent, including ghost chairs, added a modern twist, while rich-toned florals and textural fruit gave a nod to still-life paintings. The venue’s blank canvas allowed every detail to shine.

No winter wedding is complete without decadent desserts, and this display did not disappoint. Confetti Cakes crafted a surreal spread of baroque-inspired sweets including silver-tiered cakes, towering piped confections and vintagestyle treats served in elegant coupes. Each one was so beautiful it belonged in a gallery, not on a cake plate.

As the sun set, the mood shifted. The space took on a candlelit glow, casting shadows over the draped walls, creating a sense of intimacy. With glasses of champagne in hand, the couple danced beneath swaths of chrome drapery, celebrating the beginning of their new journey together.
