Designed for kids with a passion for the environmental sciences, this program takes a hands-on approach to learning and fun! Experience the latest in green technology with an on-site learning lab, and learn about the natural world with an emphasis on environmental sustainability. Your days will be filled with fun camp activities like canoeing, crafts, field games, campfires, archery, the low ropes course and much more.

Take your summer excitement to the next level with this program designed for new and veteran campers alike. Throughout the week, campers will experience high-adventure activities such as: high and low ropes course, zipline, kayaking, environmental education, rock climbing, hiking and more. Outpost (rising grades 9-10)

Geared toward campers looking for a backcountry wilderness experience, Outpost is guaranteed to be rewarding and fun! Campers will start the week at Camp Roanoke participating in the high and low ropes courses and then venture off-site to experience three nights of tent camping, a day on the river, overnight backpacking, rock climbing, and outdoor living skills. Leave no trace principles and environmental awareness are incorporated into all aspects of this program.

Trek - Beach & Surfing (rising grades 9-11)

Grab your swimsuit and join us for a week of fun in the sun! We’ll travel to Virginia Beach and set up camp right next to the beach. Come make new friends and have the best week of your summer! Our time will be spent exploring unique local habitats while learning to surf, sea kayak, and stand up paddle board. There will also be plenty of beach play, swimming and evening sunsets. Looking for real summer adventure? The Voyager program is an exciting co-ed residential experience that engages children in activities ranging from canoeing to rock wall climbing. Campers will also participate in: arts and crafts, environmental education, mountain boarding, creeking, hiking, horseback riding, and more.

Trek - New River Gorge (rising grades 9-11)

Visit our Open House on Saturday, April 27 from 10am to 3pm

Join us on our trip to wild and wonderful West Virginia! This Trek is an extreme experience not to be missed. Campers will begin their trip at Camp Roanoke going through the low ropes course as well as practicing on our climbing wall. They will then journey to West Virginia and experience tent style living, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking and environmental education in the beautiful and historic New River Gorge. Grades
