Where: Shillinglaw Lecture Hall Hey Division 15! My name is Isabelle Aboaf and I am your lieutenant governor for this school year. I’m so excited to work with your clubs! We have so much potential in our division! We’re going to kick off the year with our FALL RALLY to focus on officer training, division-wide involvement, and the year ahead.

It’s going to be a blast, but it’s also key that you and as many of your club and advisors attend (please RSVP!)

All About Division 15

Division 15 is part of the greater Rocky Mountain District, which encompasses Colorado, Wyoming, the panhandle of Nebraska, and part of New Mexico. There are a total of 18 Divisions, and each is represented by a Lieutenant Governor, elected at a Spring Rally.

Division 15 incorporates the following schools: Arapahoe, Cherry Creek, Eaglecrest, Grandview, Mountain Vista, Regis Jesuit, Rock Canyon, Smoky Hill, and South High School. As your lieutenant governor, I will try to facilitate division-wide service and communication so that we can have a successful year!

Divisional Meeting Recap This past August 20th, officers from Division 15 got together at Castlewood Library to get to know each other and learn about the future of our division. They got to meet me and ask questions about serving their club and the greater Rocky Mountain District. A huge thanks to all the officers who came out, and the schools they represented: Smoky Hill, Eaglecrest, Arapahoe, and Grandview. We have 9 total schools in our division—I’d love to see attendance from you guys as well!

Together, we discussed club dues and monthly reports (two MANDATORY things for Key Clubs to do), Project ELIMINATE, Key Leader (see this opportunity below!), my LTG goals, and our upcoming Fall Rally (see page 1). We also discussed the possibility of a division-wide pancake breakfast (stay tuned!) Charity Feature Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure is perhaps one of the largest fundraising events for breast cancer in the world.

Honoring victims and survivors, raising awareness, and bringing people together has been at the forefront of this organization since 1983. Just 800 runners in Dallas, Texas soon gave rise to a worldwide series of over 150 5K runs and fitness walks spanning 4 continents, encompassing over 1 million people.

First time walkers and marathon runners alike participate in this incredibly moving event each year. Denver has its own Race for the Cure, and you can register as a runner, volunteer, fundraiser, or even “sleep in for the cure” to get involved! Send pictures!

Dues—Let’s “Due” it!

Do you want to receive the infamous Early Bird Trophy simply for getting your dues in on time? (see that beautiful award on the left?!) Paying your Key Club dues is an integral part of an international organization. Dues are a minimum of $12, and additions are determined by your school. Let’s make Division 15 history! Here are the dates your DUES are DUE! :) September 1: Clubs can start collecting dues October 15-November 1: Early Bird window (get these in ASAP!) December 31: late notice sent to schools that have yet to submit February 1: club suspension status, if dues are unpaid If you have any questions about the dues submission process, contact myself or District Treasurer, Connor Clancey, at rockymountaintreasurer@gmail.com

Trick-Or-Treat for UNICEF! Coming up!

That’s right—it’s almost October, and that means Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is right around the corner.

According to their website: Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF began in 1950 as a way to help kids who need more than candy. Since then, children all over America have gone door-to-door on Halloween with UNICEF collection boxes, calling out, "Trick-orTreat for UNICEF!" They have raised more than $175 million for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF since 1950.”
