MYP Newsletter
I often get asked, what's the difference between the IB Middle Years Programme and other curricular pathways. And nothing sums up that answer better than the Personal Project, and in particular, the Exhibition.
If you had the pleasure of attending the event last week, then you'll know what I mean. The Personal Project, like the MYP itself, is a framework designed to bring out the very best learning skills of our students and apply them to real-life situations. The Exhibition therefore represents the culmination of the five years developing and mastering the skills of: collaboration, communication, thinking, research, social and self-management across eight subject areas. These skills were on full display during the exhibition with our students speaking with confidence and enthusiasm about their chosen learning goals. A huge shout-out to our Grade 10s for their celebration of learning. And for those students and families of Grades 6-9, this is something to certainly look forward to!
Best wishes,

These two students chose to use artwork to communicate meaning. You can see Rudayn with a copy of this mural which depicts Women Empowerment in the Arab World. Salma’s painting portrays the plight of Palestinian refugees. Salma went on to sell products featuring her artwork to raise money for the red crescent to use for this cause.

‘As parents, our initial reaction is to step in with solutions when our kids have a problem, but that does nothing to teach them ways of advocating for themselves.’
