Raha International School, Gardens Campus is regulated by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge and we are required to operate in compliance with all ADEK regulations.
The school reserves the right to place your child in the grade level deemed to be the most appropriate,withintheboundsofADEKguidelines.Ifyourapplicationissuccessful,youagreeto therulesandregulationsofRahaInternationalSchoolassetoutintheParentHandbookandthe RahaHonourCode.PleasecontactourAdmissionsTeamforcopiesofthesame.
SchoolFees
Although grade placement is first approved by the school, the final approval lies with the Abu DhabiDepartmentofEducationandKnowledge(ADEK).Parentswillbecontactedandinformed ofthedecisionandgradeplacementbytheRegistrar.Uponreceivingtheletterofacceptance, parents are requested to pay, within 5 calendar days, up to 5% of the annual school fees, to securetheplace.Oncetheacademicyearhasstarted,full-termfeesaredue.Studentsarenot enrolleduntilfull-termfeesarepaid.Theregistrationfeeisnon-refundablebutformspartofthe annualtuitionfeesandisadjustedagainstthefirstterm.
A student may not start the academic year unless the first term fee has been paid in full. According to ADEK regulations, the school reserves the right to withhold the final results and abstainfromissuingtransfercertificatesuntilsettlementofallschoolfeesismade.Ifduringthe entrance assessment, we discover a requirement for English language support or Special EducationalNeedssupport,pleasebeadvisedthattheremaybeanadditionalfeechargedfor this service Parents will be notified of this charge prior to or within 4 weeks of the start of the academicyear

WelcomingNewFamilies
One of the most important things that the Parent Team does is welcome new families to the community. Our Welcome Ambassador, Vanessa Palk, is your first point of contact on the Parent Team and a reliable source of information about Raha and the wider community. She alsoorganisesspecificCoffeeMorningsandvisitstoculturallyimportantsitesinAbuDhabito helpfamiliessettleintotheirnewschoolandcity.
ClassParents&GradeParents
The Parent Team recruits and coordinates Class Parents for each classroom between EY1 and Grade5,andGradeParentsfromGrade6toGrade12.ClassParentsandGradeParentsplayan important role at Raha, and provide much-needed support to both PYP teachers/Secondary heads of grades and parents. They are also the first point of contact when the Parent Team needstocommunicatemessagestotheparentcommunityorhelporganiseevents.
Volunteers
TheParentTeamhasanactivegroupofparentvolunteersthatwecancallonwhenneeded.If you are interested in joining the WhatsApp group and helping out periodically on campus, please reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator, Ekta Hinduja, via our email or Instagram. SHUS
In addition, the Parent Team operates a Secondhand Uniform Shop (SHUS) in an effort to provide Raha families with affordable but gently used uniforms for students from EY to DP. We provide donation boxes on campus for those families who want to drop off uniforms they no longerneed.ThesearewashedandresoldtothecommunityforAED50peritem.Pleaseensure youbringcashwhenyouvisittheSHUS.OurshophoursarepostedonourInstagrampageand ontheParentTeamboardneartheRaptorsNest.
LostProperty
ThereisalwaysalargenumberoflostitemsthatendupintheCanteen.TheParentTeamhas a team member who checks on the Lost Property area weekly to keep it clean and organised. ShealsoorganisesaLostPropertyCleanUpeachterminanefforttodeclutterthelostproperty areaandhelpre-unitestudentswiththeirlostitems.Youcanhelpbyensuringthatanyitems brought to school (hats, water bottles, hoodies, swim kits, uniforms, etc) are properly labelled withthefirstandlastnameofthestudent.

Weorganiseanumberofeventstobenefittheentireschoolcommunity,includingtheHoliday Bazaar,GlobalVillage,MovieNight,Activ’Events,Creativ’Events,CoffeeMornings,International Women’s Day and Staff Appreciation Week Each year, the Parent Team also raises funds for breast cancer awareness through a Pinktober Charity Sale Last year, the Parent Team launched The Giving Campaign, which allowed students, staff, and parents to collect and distribute110donationboxestoourmaintenance,cleaning,security,andtransportationteams.
