Devan Finneran and Jose Fuentes used a chainsaw to cut into a roof resembling a house on fire. They gave the demonstration at an Oct. 20 open house at the East Meadow Fire Department Headquarters on East Meadow Avenue.

Detectives Keith Blum and Chris Marciano, both members of the Nassau County Police Department Arson Bomb Squad, introduced the crowd to one of their robots during East Meadow’s annual National Night Out event at Veterans Memorial Park last Aug. 6.
