East Meadow Library
The East Meadow Public Library does more than just hold books. Its programs and special events for all ages, art exhibits, reference service, magazines, college catalogs, civil-service tests, eBooks, iPads and more draw thousands of participants from across Nassau County.
Located in the heart of East Meadow on East Meadow Avenue and Front Street, its accessibility allows passersby to stop in for a book or program.
Throughout its time in the community, the library has been able to meet its patrons’ needs. To enhance its services, the library is undergoing major renovations this year — for the first time since the early 1980s — after the community passed a $14.6 million bond in March 2017. Additions will include a new community reading area and an all-purpose room that will host an array of events such as concerts and guest author readings.
The Library Board meets the first Wednesday of each month at 8 p.m. Meetings are open to the public. To find out more about the library or its scheduled programming, visit the library’s website at www.eastmeadow.info.
