DIGGING TOWARDS CHANGE

THE AVON PROJECT

The former Avon Company distribution center space located on Ogletown Road (Rte. Route 273) was utilized 1958 to 2007. Officially closed since 2008 and laterpurchased, it is now in development with the Reybold Group, and will eventually be transitioned into a mixed use property with residential apartments, office, retail and a hotel - a Live, Play and Work environment.

An essential factor is its location on Route 273 corridor as it connects Newark/University of Delaware and the Christiana Hospital making this site an-ideal project for various types of business related projects. The Reybold Group Construction team is diligently working along with various city organizations and contractors and have begun certain phases of the onsite preparation work.

Avon Onsite Work Progression:

- Entrance is in the final stages of completion with DELDOT accommodating turn-in lanes to the future site and a new DART bus stop.

- The 10' shared use path along the front of the site along Ogletown rd has been completed and opened for public use.

- Public Sanitary sewer connections have been completed and installed on to the site for future use.

- Clearing for phase 1 residential apartments has been completed.

- Currently efforts are focused on completing all sediment and erosion control devices to satisfy Delaware Department of Natural Resources requirements.

- Earthwork for 2 apartment building pads including soil remediation work are forecasted to be completed by late fall of 2023

Stay tuned for future updates as they apply on construction development, along with some recent visuals representing the project status as it stands.

REYBOLD GROUP FEATURED ON

“DESIGNING

HOMES”

NOVEMBER 2024

We are thrilled to announce that the Reybold Group and Columbia Place 55 + community will be featured in an HGTV promotional segment airing this coming November (dates and times will be provided). Although this will not be a house touring segment, we were given the opportunity to speak about our company identity.

On Wednesday, August 30th Jerry H. and Tracy from corporate along with, Candice Ober(Design Manager) and Kevin Trahey (Director of Residential Construction) for Columbia Place (CP) sat down with HGTV – Designing Homes photo videographer to speak on all things Reybold Group and CP. Our team provided insight on just who we are and what makes us a standout in the Delaware market, from our residential and commercial operations delivery, to our interior designs, marketing and construction services. The promotional segment will air for 5 to 7 minutes in November and will return in reruns in 2024 on local and national stations, including ABC, CBS, FOX, Xfinity among others, reaching more than 2.4 billion people worldwide.

This will be a great opportunity to broaden awareness of the Reybold Group’s brand as well as recognizing our specialized luxury offerings at Columbia Place. It’s not often that a residential company gets a chance to highlight themselves, on a national platform. “This will be an amazing opportunity and a proud moment for Reybold to highlight the many outstanding aspects of what we are all about. Additionally we have the usage rights to use and incorporate HGTV logo and video into our updated website”, stated Tracy Fauntleroy, VP of Marketing and Communications.

STAY SAFE. BE PREPARED.

The Safety Department has set out on a mission driven initiative to certify at least one employee on each crew, and as many employees as possible through the remainder of the year in First Aid/CPR. We are following the OSHA standard for first aid training in general industry and for the construction industry.

There are roughly 350,000 resuscitation attempts outside of hospitals each year in the United States. For those of you who do not know, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is an emergency procedure that can help save a person’s life if their breathing or heart stops. When a person’s heart stops beating, they are in cardiac arrest, and during a cardiac arrest, the heart cannot pump blood to the rest of the body, including the brain and lungs. Death can happen in minutes without treatment. CPR uses chest compressions to mimic how the heart pumps. These compressions help keep blood flowing throughout the body.

The skills learned in our recent onsite First Aid / CPR classes are to prepare you with the knowledge and know-how, whether it’s utilized socially, at work or at home to perform this life saving procedure. At Reybold, the safety department has to date trained 84 employees from varying departments. The safety plan for future courses is in the works to train our remaining employees with ongoing opportunities for new employees.

We appreciated your support, time, and participation in this critical life skill.

REYBOLD

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGIES

HOMETOWN PROJECT - UNIVERSITY OF DE

Reybold Construction Technologies (RCT) continues its focus on revenue growth by cultivating relationships with new and existing clients in an ever-expanding geographic footprint. The team has been busy grabbing new business in DE, MD, VA, PA and most recently in NJ. In addition to the geographic expansion, RCT is also expanding its product and service capabilities to grow our revenue streams with off-road capabilities as well as in-pipe point repairs.

While these avenues have been a key to our steady growth, our local client relationship base of business has also been integral to our success. In June 2023 we began our 5th year with the University of Delaware for its Campus Wide Storm Sewer Maintenance and Inspection program that will carry a crew through the summer.

As we have built our relationship with the University over the last 5 years, we have added GIS/ GPS Mapping to the program scope to give this client the ability to produce a visual of the areas cleaned and inspected each year.

In addition, UD has granted us an additional project each summer to Clean and Inspect the Storm Water Management Facilities. On Thursday August 3rd, our marketing team coordinated a drone and photo shoot of our new equipment and talented crew against this visually appealing backdrop in Newark, DE.

We may be a small state, but Delaware certainly goes above and beyond with local events. Check out our guide to Fall festivals below:

Southern Delaware Wine & Food Festival Millsboro, DE

OktDoverFest Dover, DE

Sea Witch Halloween Festival Rehoboth Beach, DE Wings & Wheels Airshow Georgetown, DE

BUTTERNUT SQUASH MAC AND CHEESE FLAVORS OF THE SEASON

INGREDIENTS:

1 Medium Butternut Squash ( 1.5 Lbs Of Larger ), Halved

1 Tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil

2 Tbsp Unsalted Butter

1 Tsp Garlic Powder

1 Tsp Onion Powder

1 Lb Short-Cut Pasta (Macaroni, Cavatelli, Fusilli, Casarecce)

5 Cups Water

1 Tsp Salt

4 Oz Cream Cheese, Cubed

8 Oz Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese

1/2 cup (2 Oz) Finely Grated Parmesan Cheese + Extra For Serving

RECIPE:

NOVEMBER/DECEMBER 2023

Independent Film Festival Rehoboth Beach, DE

Delaware Renaissance Faire Townsend, DE Winter WonderFEST Lewes, DE Holly Festival Milton, DE Holiday Festival of the Arts Wilmington, DE

1 ) To roast the squash: Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper for easy clean-up. Scoop out the squash seeds with a spoon (we won’t need them for this recipe). Rub the olive oil over the cut sides of butternut, then place them on the prepared pan, flat sides down.

2 ) Bake until the squash flesh is easily pierced through with a fork, about 40 to 60 minutes. Once it’s cool enough to handle, peel off the skin and discard it. Use a potato masher to mash up the squash—don’t worry about getting it perfectly smooth. You’ll need about 2 cups mashed squash for this recipe (you’ll likely have plenty extra, which you can freeze for future mac and cheese). Set aside, refrigerate and/or freeze the squash until ready to use.

3 ) To prepare the mac and cheese: Melt the butter in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion powder and cook for 2 to 4 minutes, stirring often, until the butter is fragrant and you see little brown flecks forming in the pan. Add the dry pasta and gently toss to coat it in butter.

4 ) Pour in the water and salt. Add 2 cups of the mashed butternut squash. Cover the pot and bring it to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, remove the lid and set the timer for 8 minutes.

5 ) Cook, stirring occasionally, until the timer goes off. Do not drain the water. Stir in the cream cheese. Cook until the cream cheese has melted and the pasta is al dente (careful when you taste, it’s quite hot), about 4 to 5 more minutes. Turn down the heat as necessary to avoid scorching but maintain a steady simmer.

6 ) Reduce the heat to low. Add the cheddar and Parmesan, and stir until the mixture is melted and creamy. Remove the pot from the heat.

7 ) Season with salt, to taste (I usually add ¼ teaspoon more). Serve the pasta in bowls with extra Parmesan grated on top, if desired. Leftovers keep well, covered and refrigerated, for up to 5 days.
