SABOR Announces 2019 Real Estate Award Winners

The San Antonio Board of REALTORS® will recognize the outstanding achievements of several of its members during the Awards and Installation ceremony on December 5 at the Witte Museum. Carl Bishop is the 2019 Broker of the Year. Bishop is the broker for AE Realty and has been a SABOR member since 2006. Bishop is known for his dedication to mentoring and coaching his agents, leading by example and ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed no matter their background or position. He is also committed to helping his community, organizing fundraisers for local charities and encouraging his agents to get
involved by giving back. Patsy Oakley is the 2019 REALTOR® Salesperson of the Year. A REALTOR® for over three decades, Oakley is a REALTOR® with R E / M A X Associates. Her humor and willingness to lead by example make her stand out with anyone she knows. Always a team player, she conveys a high level of professionalism in every transaction and seizes every opportunity to help other agents grow. Described by her peers as smart, ambitious and caring, Oakley also has a long history of giving back to the REALTOR® association, serving on numerous committees over the years as well as the Board of Directors. Leona Flores is the 2019 Rookie of the Year. Flores is a REALTOR® at S t o n e p o i n t Properties, Inc. In her first year as a REALTOR®, she has participated in over 30 sales and listings transactions, either as the primary agent or assisting her broker in the processing and closing. Her business savvy has boosted the productivity of her office as she leads the development of new processes to make work more efficient and beneficial to the consumers she serves. Respected by her colleagues for demonstrating a commitment to high ethical standards,
she continually seeks opportunities to grow and puts in the extra effort to make her colleagues and business shine. Pat Busby is the 2019 Manager of the Year. A member of SABOR for over 30 years, Busby is with Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper, REALTORS®. Over the years, she has proven her value to the staff and agents she works with by providing support both personally and professionally. Whether she is advising agents on how to deal with difficult negotiations, or just being a friend to lean on, her management has been instrumental in the success of the agents she supports. In fact, the office in which she works has been nationally recognized for production and professionalism due to her efforts. Brian Phelt is the 2019 Property M a n a g e m e n t Specialist of the Year. He has been a SABOR member since 2016 and is a REALTOR® with Forefront Property Management. Phelt is actively engaged in advancing the field of property management and is involved in organizations such as the San Antonio Association of Real Estate Brokers (SAAREB) as well as the national and local chapters of the National Association of Residential Property Managers
(NARPM). In 2019, he served as President of the local NARPM chapter. He has also served on SABOR’s Leasing and Property Management Committee. Cortney Gill is the recipient of the 2019 Legislative Champion award. A REALTOR® with GSG Property Management, Gill has played a key role in leading SABOR toward reaching its TREPAC and RPAC goals for three years straight. She regularly encourages other agents to attend TREPAC events and get involved, and takes every opportunity to educate her peers on the importance of investing. She also dedicates herself to staying knowledgeable about our city and issues affecting private property rights. This enthusiasm helps her colleagues as well as the association stay plugged into important issues and ensures the REALTOR® voice is heard. Cynthia Lee is the 2019 recipient of the Commercial Award. Lee has been a SABOR member since 2010 and is a REALTOR® with K W Commercial/Keller Williams City View. She received the Highest Grossing Individual Agent award from Keller Williams City View in 2017 and 2018 as well as the Top Commercial Division award in 2017,
