With its multipurpose space, the Event-Raum is the perfect accompaniment to the gastronomic offerings of the Schwellenmätteli Restaurants. In its unique setting by the Aare River in downtown Bern, this modern event venue which boasts a striking picture window with views of the Aare and state of the art technology, is the perfect venue for banquets, seminars and presentations for 50 to 140 guests. The infrastructure can be arranged in a variety of ways to give your event that personal touch.
Whatever you’re planning – be it a corporate event, birthday party, Christmas party or wedding –you can leave the organization of your festivities to us. We’ll work with you to devise a tailor-made creative solution. We’ll take care of all the preparations and catering for your event.

Room preparation costs
Room preparation costs for private events 800.–such as weddings, birthdays and gala dinners
Room hire for exhibitions, presentations, whole day 1700.–commercial events, general meetings, panel discussions half day 1190.–
Room preparation costs includes standard furniture, table linen, place settings, music system with background music, two projectors and cleaning charges. All special requests will be charged at cost.

General Informations and Conditions
General
Our offer is in writing and contains binding prices based on the agreed number of guests. All food and beverages must be ordered from Schwellenmätteli Restaurants.
Changes to guest numbers
Please let us know the final number of people in writing at least two weeks before the event. This information is then used as the basis for purchasing, production, staff planning and invoicing.
– Up to 14 days before the event, a deviation of max. 20 % from the originally registered number of people is possible.
– From 13 days before the event, we will only accept a maximum deviation of 5 %.
The minimum number of guests for seminars/conferences is 25. If fewer than 25 guests attend the event, the seminar flat-rate for the minimum number of guests will be charged.
Cancellation terms

Prices / payment terms
We may change prices due to external influences. You can pay in cash or ask for an invoice (payable within 14 days, net). We reserve the right to ask for a deposit (menu price for the number of guests you have specified, excluding beverages). This is payable no later than 14 days before the event. You can pay the balance in cash or ask for an invoice. Individual payment is not possible for groups of 10 persons or more. All prices are in CHF, incl. VAT.
For purchases of CHF 3000.– or more paid with a credit card, we take the liberty of charging a 2 % handling fee.
Extended events
Want to party for longer? No problem! After midnight, we charge CHF 300.– per hour or part hour, including extension permit, room hire and additional staff costs. Available until 3:30 am at the latest. This also applies to seminars that last longer than 5 pm.
Decoration
For banquets, the tables are set in white. You are welcome to bring your own table decoration. Please contact us if you have something special in mind, but don’t have time to realise your ideas. Together with our own decorator we help you to put your ideas into practice. While you will be charged for floral decorations tailored to your event, accessories can be rented from us at rental prices. Candle glasses are included in our prices. We are happy to arrange the decoration that you have brought with you; for particularly elaborate table decoration, we reserve the right to charge CHF 2.– per cover.
Checkroom
A checkroom with attendant can be provided on request and for a surcharge. A checkroom without attendant can be provided for free, in which case we accept no liability for any stored or lost property.

The following apply to banquet menus for our youngest guests:

Menu choice
To help us prepare for your event, and unless otherwise agreed, we would ask you to let us have your menu choice no later than two weeks before your event.
Menu cards
We will be more than happy to print our classic menu cards for you free of charge.
Wine corkage / spirituous beverages
You are welcome to bring your own wine for a surcharge of CHF 35.– per 75 cl bottle opened. For Spirituous beverages, CHF 80.– will be charged per opened 70 cl bottle.
Cakeage
You are welcome to bring your own cake for dessert for a surcharge of CHF 6.50 per person.
Equipment for rent
If you wish you can hire various items from us, such as technical equipment, tents, stages, round tables, chairs and covers. You will be charged after the event for any expenses incurred for this.
Wine tasting
Bookings for groups of 50+: Two guests can try two white wines and two red wines from the current wine list. The newly-opened bottles of wine must be bought at the cash price and can be taken home. Wines from the open wine range can be tasted for free. Possible dates must be agreed in advance with the banquet team.
Food sampling
After a confirmed reservation for groups of 50 people or more, it is possible to sample the selected menu in advance. Two guests pay 50 % of the price of the food. Additional persons pay the full price. Possible dates (Tue to Thu from 5:30 pm) must be agreed in advance with the banquet team.
Minimum spend
The minimum spend can vary depending on the agreement in question and the event type. The banquet team will be more than happy to provide you with further information.
Parking
We have only limited parking in the Schwellenmätteli. We therefore recommend that our guests use one of the nearby parking lots (e.g. Casino parking).
Bookings
A contract between the event organizer and Schwellenmätteli Restaurants comes into force when
a. the event organizer confirms in writing a banquet agreement from Schwellenmätteli Restaurants
b. Schwellenmätteli Restaurants confirms in writing a request from the event organizer
Changes to the content of the contract will not take effect until confirmed in writing by Schwellenmätteli Restaurants. We reserve the right to withdraw a banquet agreement if there are weighty reasons to do so.
Withdrawal by Schwellenmätteli Restaurants
If Schwellenmätteli Restaurants has reasonable grounds to assume that the event may jeopardize the smooth running of the business or the safety, security or reputation of the restaurant, Schwellenmätteli Restaurants will be entitled to withdraw from the booking agreement at any time without compensation. The same applies if the event organizer fails to comply with the deposit arrangements agreed in accordance with the general terms and conditions. The event organizer cannot under any circumstances assert any claims for damages against Schwellenmätteli Restaurants.
Legal force
The terms set out here apply to the provision of event-related services and all associated deliveries and services between the guest and Schwellenmätteli Restaurants.
Jurisdiction
The place of jurisdiction is Bern. Swiss law is exclusively applicable.
