WELCOME TO THE ADMIN TALON TALK

This quarter the Administrative Team is kicking off Talon Talk as the department feature! As we roll into the Centennial year of Rehoboth Beach Country Club, we want to take a moment to say thank you to each and every one of you for making this off season an enjoyable one for the Members and putting in the time, energy, and effort to plan a wonderful year to celebrate 100 years. With bitter temperatures and more snow than normal, we are looking forward to seeing the sunshine, feeling the warm temperatures of the spring and welcoming back the seasonal Greens and Grounds Maintenace team “the Guanacos” from El Salvador! From big milestones to small wins, 2024 made progress and we look forward to continuing this through 2025. This newsletter is your backstage pass to everything that's happening, all the achievements we’re celebrating, and a few fun surprises along the way!

Another year, another wonderful Leadership Retreat for the department heads of the Talon Tribe! For the third year in a row, the Leadership Team spent two days together at the Virden Center in Lewes, DE enjoying comradery, open discussions, and strategy planning. Here's some of the fun things they focused on throughout the retreat.

Reviewing the 2024 season of what went well (WWW) and even better if (EBI).

Discussing their book of the month "Beyond Ego: The Inner Compass of Conscious Leadership" by Thor Olafsson and participating in the exercises in the book.

Focusing on tangible strategies and goal setting for fiscal year 2026.

Watching and talking over two videos: "Know Your Why and "10 Ways to Build and Develop Resilience."

 Brainstorming sessions included...of course!

Lastly, the team enjoyed a DIY evening at Hammer and Stain making department "We Are The Talon Tribe" wood signs and then a delicious dinner at Lewes Oyster House. Before we know it, the season will be starting, and these same team members will be putting into action the work from the Leadership Retreat!

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!

DO NOT FEEL

“Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you. Stop acting so small. You are the universe in ecstatic motion.

Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.” ― Rumi

Thank you for three beautiful, life-changing years as a member of the RBCC Talon Tribe. So many of you have fanned my flames, taught me new things and helped me grow. You are remarkable humans, and I’m humbled to have been a part of your journey.

See you on the beach!

TALON TRIBE QUARTERLY UPDATE

Tribe Vibe Quarterly Winner Managerof the Year

The Quarterly Tribe Vibe Award winner for Q4 was Mike Vieira who works in the greens department. Some of the things his coworkers said:

“Mike shows up every day ready to complete any task asked of him. He is respected amongst his peers for going above and beyond. He shows integrity by doing things the right way, the way we like them done. He lets us know about any issues he sees regarding equipment or the golf course in general. He had a rough winter but manages to get his job done with a smile on his face. Anytime he finishes a task early he takes the initiative to do something else to stay busy. We need more tribe members like Mike!”

“He’s always busy and takes the initiative to find something to keep busy when he runs out of work. On top of that, he has some health issues, but he does not let it bother him and works as much as he can.”

KEVIN TITUS

to the Manager of the Year Kevin Titus who works in the greens department. Some of the kind words Alan said about Kevin during his congratulatory speech included:

2

“He always represents all the Talon Tribe values. 1. Fantastic job during the transition between Mike and me.

His presence lightens the mood in any room and his positive attitude is infectious. 3.

4

The team loves him, and he makes sure everything gets done correctly. He has great attention to detail.

5.

He is always willing to learn, enjoys taking on new challenges, embraces change and always steps up to the plate when needed.

6

He set up all the new software for tracking pest/fert (usage/reporting/inventory) and the software for the job board and labor tracking. This was a big undertaking, but he completed it quickly.

He quickly learned how to do new things and made sure everything got done correctly and completed/supervised the completion of 19 while Tony and I were at the Masters.“ 7

Congratulations
