Phil and his wife Holley have been RBCC Members since August 2020. After enjoying many family vacations at the Delaware beaches, they decided to purchase a home in Rehoboth in 2017. Since joining they have been active users of Club’s facilitiesincluding golf, pickleball, fitness, dining, pool and events. They consider the overall operation of the Club including a welcoming staff, first rate facilities and engaging membership to be the best club in the region. Maintaining and improving this overall club experience is central to Phil’s desire to join the RBCC Board.
Phil’s business experience includes over 40 years as a commercial real estate mortgage lender and investor, including the last 25 years with Wells Fargo and a predecessor company His clients ranged from large public companies to small family investors. Phil has analyzed thousands of commercial properties, reviewing operating statements, balance sheets, operations and facilities, similar to RBCC’s operation During his career, he served on the board of the Mortgage Bankers Association of Metropolitan Washington, ascending to President of the Association. He has also served on the boards of several homeowner associations within communities where his family has resided.
During his three years as a Member of the RBCC Finance Committee, Phil has been a strong advocate of improving the financial integrity and performance of the Club, namely reducing debt, investing cash in CDs and maintaining breakeven or better operating performance Phil believes strong financial performance will allow the Membership, Board and Management to continue improving the top-rate facilities and overall club experience Phil advocated for a capital reserve study and monthly capital dues to be held in a segregated account to ensure the Club has sufficient capital to maintain and improve the Clubhouse, Golf Course, Pool, Fitness Center and Racquet’s Facility for many years to come
Having retired at the end of 2023, if elected, Phil looks forward to devoting substantial time and commitment to the Board to insure both financial discipline and enhancing the wonderful facilities and club experience our Members enjoy daily. He will listen to and advocate for membership needs and desires, working with the Board and Management to operate the Club in a financially prudent manner He will advocate for continued transparency and frequent communication with the membership.
