health, «the system can warn us if we are at risk of having high cholesterol and recommend preventive actions». In terms of enabling technologies, the most disruptive capacity offering is that of the 5G. The increase in data transmission capacity will allow, among other things, that «all information processing can be done in the cloud, although it is applied in an increasingly local way», Vicente López explains. A contradiction? The economy will be shaken by two transforming energies that will run in parallel: on the one hand, the one that will boost the relocation of a part of the production; on the other hand, the one that will favor a growing distributed manufacturing, that is, that takes place where the good is going to be consumed. Increasingly sophisticated, intelligent and scalable computing systems will ‘talk’ in realtime to the areas of production of goods and services of companies, thanks to connectivity improvements. In order not to fail, we must think of flexible organizations, where information flows in real time, with autonomous decisions and designed to work in a network. «That connectivity will allow us to digitalize more feet, analyze data in the cloud and solve fitting problems in situ. But if you analyze the data of many customers, and you can identify the average foot of each market, you can, at the same time, establish parameters that allow you to approach improvements on the product in an intelligent way. The standardization of the size is another issue that will change with the big data, which will help reduce the current problem of returns», explains the Head of INESCOP.

Ecosystem company Companies will have to adapt, indeed, the business model to this new environment endowed with greater complexity. This evolution breaks

the linearity of the value chain: the company becomes an ecosystem of network relationships. And in this new environment, finding the most viable solution is not always easy. «We must weigh the use and the cost and functionality. If you get a product whose functionality is clear, but that is not used because it is not comfortable and it is expensive, you make no business», says Vicente Lopez. From AITEX, Jorge Moreno agrees that «there are companies with which we have developed R & D projects and when launched onto the market they had to be pushed back because of the costs». Seemingly circumstantial issues such as the duration and charge of the batteries required by electronic devices can leave potential business lines in standby. Something similar happens when we try to anticipate how our connected life will be in future. Will everyday life also be transformed? Most likely. What remains unclear is at the pace it will. Sáez believes that, although forecasts are being made for a technology shift from 2020, perhaps there has been too much talk about a total automation based on Artificial Intelligence and/ or Artificial Vision, since, although there are developed technologies, its commoditization will be slow. Some projects will reach the market in 10 years. There will be a gradual introduction. Following with the example of the autonomous car, to reach level 5 of it, we will have to pass the previous four levels and there are regulatory restrictions and implementation problems. That’s why the ITI representative compares technology with «fashion gateways». «Sometimes they show us outlandish outfits that no one would wear but that mark the trend taken to the extreme and subsequently street versions for society are designed. Something similar happens with technology. There are

concept elements that are displays of the technologies taken to the extreme but that, perhaps, are not practical or necessary and versions adapted to society will appear». What is relevant is that individuals will consciously or unconsciously provide many private data, through mobile devices able to monitor various aspects of their lives. It is unprocessed information that can be exploited with the appropriate analysis and that will be collected in exchange for access to new applications. Hence, according to Vicente López, one of the great challenges of the hyperconnected world is indeed education and information. «People have to realize that they are unconsciously sharing information. They know what you buy, where you are, what you are going to do in the future, your buying tendencies... Paradoxically, in other circumstances the user usually has a rejection reaction when he is observed and does not provide the data he must give. Another problem that arises is connectivity addiction. We must educate and train in the use of connectivity», he concludes.
