Lift Every Voice and Sing
James Weldon Johnson - 1871-1938
Lift every voice and sing, Till earth and heaven ring, Ring with the harmonies of Liberty; Let our rejoicing rise
High as the list’ning skies, Let it resound loud as the rolling sea. Sing a song full of the faith that the dark past has taught us, Sing a song full of the hope that the present has brought us; Facing the rising sun of our new day begun, Let us march on till victory is won.
Stony the road we trod, Bitter the chast’ning rod, Felt in the days when hope unborn had died; Yet with a steady beat, Have not our weary feet
Come to the place for which our fathers sighed? We have come over a way that with tears has been watered. We have come, treading our path through the blood of the slaughtered, Out from the gloomy past, Till now we stand at last Where the white gleam of our bright star is cast.
God of our weary years, God of our silent tears, Thou who hast brought us thus far on the way; Thou who hast by Thy might, Led us into the light, Keep us forever in the path, we pray. Lest our feet stray from the places, our God, where we met Thee, Lest our hearts, drunk with the wine of the world, we forget Thee; Shadowed beneath Thy hand, May we forever stand, True to our God, True to our native land.

Welcome to the 2025 Ecumenical Church & University Convocation
Dear Esteemed Members and Friends,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
As I celebrate 30 years of ministry, my heart is filled with gratitude for the journey, the people, and the vision God entrusted to me. These three decades have been marked by prayerful service, prophetic vision, and persistent labor in both the sanctuary and the streets. From humble beginnings to a global mission field, I have witnessed lives transformed, communities rebuilt, and generations awakened by the power of faith and service.
We are boldly moving forward with the vision to build 5,000 schools and churches across underserved regions in Africa, Asia, and beyond. These are not just buildings—they are lighthouses of learning, healing, and hope. They represent a divine strategy for spiritual renewal, social development, and community empowerment, particularly for those who have been overlooked by systems and silenced by poverty. Through our commitment to clean water access, health education, and AI-driven development, we are tackling sickness and disease with both compassion and innovation.

As I approach the next season of my life—one that leans gently toward retirement—I am more determined than ever to ensure that this vision outlives me. The work continues through the leaders we’ve trained, the missionaries we’ve sent, and the institutions we’ve established. I invite you to stand with me in this mission —not only to commemorate what has been done, but to carry the torch forward with renewed fire, purpose, and unity.
With love and unwavering hope,
Redfern II

Founding of Ecumenical University

Bishop Redfern II founded the Ecumenical University as a formal expression of the grassroots pastoral training movement launched by Dr. Stephen Manley through the Cross Style School of Practical Ministry. For decades, Dr. Manley trained pastors and lay leaders across rural and underserved regions in more than 40 developing countries. These leaders, often lacking the financial means or infrastructure to attend traditional institutions, were empowered through an innovative model centered on “Seminary in a Box” kits. Each included set came with a DVD player, a television, and a generator for use in areas without electricity.
As this movement grew, it became clear that formal recognition was necessary. Certificates of completion evolved into associate, bachelor’s, and advanced degrees. In 2006, official graduation ceremonies began, and by 2012, Bishop Redfern II formally chartered the Ecumenical University in Columbia, South Carolina. A global Board of Regents now oversees the academic records and standardizes curriculum for more than 1,500 graduates annually around the world. The University continues to prioritize access and innovation, especially in supporting rural women and girls through scholarship programs that open doors to leadership and educational equity.
Global Initiative: Constructing Schools and Churches
The Ecumenical Church and University have launched an ambitious campaign to build 5,000 schools and churches across 40 nations in Africa and Asia. Already, 500 projects have been completed, including early childhood centers, churches, and health clinics—each equipped with clean water systems, sanitation facilities, internet access, and solar energy.
This is not merely a building project—it is a redemptive return. From South Carolina, a state historically linked to the transatlantic slave trade, descendants of the enslaved are now leading a global reversal— returning not in chains, but as builders, educators, and spiritual leaders. These projects plant the seeds of hope and development in regions that have long been denied such resources, creating sustainable growth in education, public health, and spiritual formation. A key priority is the provision of scholarships for rural girls, ensuring that a new generation of empowered women leads the future.
Integrating Clean Water and AI for Development
Each construction site incorporates a clean water project, addressing one of the most basic but unmet needs in rural regions. From borehole wells to rainwater harvesting systems and purifiers, these efforts reduce disease, support school attendance (especially for girls), and foster local agriculture.

In partnership with global NGOs and emerging tech leaders, the Ecumenical Church is also developing and implementing AI-powered strategies for education, health monitoring, and agricultural training. AI tools help map needs, personalize learning content in local languages, and optimize resource allocation, bringing the benefits of modern innovation to historically marginalized communities.
U.S. Expansion: Little Prayer Chapels and Urban Mission Strategy
Domestically, the Ecumenical Church is focused on building 20 Little Prayer Chapels across 13 southern states, each serving as a training hub, worship space, and community outreach incubator. Each chapel will support up to 15 congregations, fostering a collaborative model of shared resources, social services, and discipleship training. These chapels also serve as broadcast centers, producing gospel messages, training sessions, and wellness programs for social media and streaming platforms. With a projected growth of 300 congregations, this network anchors the Ecumenical Church in local neighborhoods while engaging the world through digital ministry.
The Ecumenical Global Training Camp
The Ecumenical Training Camp, set on 43 acres in rural South Carolina, is envisioned as a premier residential institute for training pastors and mission leaders from 40 nations. This four-year immersive experience includes ministerial education, cross-cultural leadership training, and project-based learning for community development.

Facilities include dormitories, family housing, classrooms, a worship center, dining halls, a production studio, sports and wellness facilities, and multilingual broadcast studios. Participants will graduate with Bachelor of Arts degrees, fully equipped to return to their nations as both spiritual leaders and community developers.
Building the Main Campus and Global Headquarters
The main campus of Ecumenical University and the World Headquarters of the Ecumenical Church will be established in Columbia, South Carolina, serving as the central hub for all global operations. This state-ofthe-art facility is designed to house a comprehensive range of academic, technological, and communityfocused programs. It will include Global Online Learning Studios, equipped for real-time instruction and digital curriculum delivery to students worldwide, and Media Production Labs operated by students, enabling hands-on training in content creation and broadcasting.

A dedicated Nonprofit Research and Innovation Center will foster new models for community development. At the same time, a Health and Wellness Institute will offer training and outreach in physical and mental well-being. A Library of AI-powered learning content will provide adaptive educational resources tailored to diverse linguistic and cultural needs.
Additionally, the campus will include international video conferencing facilities to broadcast live classroom sessions globally, facilitating academic engagement across borders. From this headquarters, Ecumenical University will expand its global impact— bridging educational divides, promoting leadership development, and advancing holistic transformation in communities worldwide.

JAMES L. FELDER, 3RD
Dr. James L. Felder
President, Ecumenical University
To the Esteemed Graduates, Honorees, Faculty, Families, and Friends,
It is with heartfelt gratitude and abiding hope that I welcome you to this sacred occasion—our celebration of academic achievement, spiritual growth, and human progress. Today, we recognize the accomplishments of remarkable individuals who have not only pursued excellence in scholarship but have also answered the call to serve humanity with courage, humility, and purpose.

As President of Ecumenical University, I am deeply honored to uphold a tradition rooted in faith, justice, and global engagement. Ours is not an ordinary institution—we are a university of mission, a cathedral of knowledge, and a workshop of leadership, founded upon the belief that education must not only inform the mind, but inspire the heart and liberate the soul.
Our vision is bold:
To raise up scholars who are servants.
To cultivate wisdom shaped by compassion.
To prepare leaders who will stand at the intersection of history and hope, bridging divides and building futures.
Ecumenical University serves as a beacon across continents, committed to equipping leaders for the complexities of the 21st century while grounding them in eternal truths. We train missionaries, entrepreneurs, educators, humanitarians, pastors, and policy shapers who are unafraid to confront injustice and ignite change. From villages in East Africa to classrooms in South Carolina, from city halls to sanctuaries, our graduates carry with them the legacy of faith in action.
As we bestow honorary degrees upon distinguished individuals whose lives exemplify this very mission —builders of communities, preservers of culture, warriors for equity and peace—we affirm our belief that the true measure of education is its impact on the lives of others.
I invite every graduate and guest today to take the torch passed by these honorees and lift it high in your own calling. The world awaits your voice, your vision, and your values.
Let this be more than a commencement. Let it be a commissioning—to live intentionally, serve generously, and lead with integrity.
In the words of the Apostle Paul, “Do not grow weary in well doing, for in due season you shall reap if you faint not.” Let us go forward, then, sowing seeds of justice, peace, and truth in every field we enter.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, our global faculty, and the entire Ecumenical University family, I congratulate you, bless you, and challenge you to go forth as light-bearers in a world that deeply needs what you have to give.
With profound respect and unshakable faith in your future,
Dr. James L. Felder, President, Ecumenical University

Honorary Chairs lead the way to victory.
We are proud to extend heartfelt special recognition to four distinguished individuals whose leadership, integrity, and unwavering service have profoundly shaped the mission and momentum of the CityLight Charter Member Drive. Their lives serve as living testimonies of what it means to lead with vision, compassion, and commitment to community transformation.
We honor Mrs. Susie E. Jones and Mrs. Lois Gibson as Honorary Co-Chairs of the Charter Member Drive for the Esther Women of Influence. Their grace, wisdom, and longstanding dedication to empowering women and advancing faith-based initiatives have left an indelible mark on our organization. As pillars in both the church and community, they have helped open doors for future generations of women to lead, serve, and inspire. Their presence in this movement is not only honorary—it is foundational.

In the same spirit of gratitude and reverence, we also honor E.W. Cromartie and Dr. James L. Felder as Honorary Co-Chairs of the CityLight Men on the Wall. These trailblazers have dedicated their lives to standing in the gap—fighting for justice, mentoring young leaders, and creating pathways of opportunity through education, public service, and spiritual guidance. Their legacy lives on in every man who now takes his place on the wall, committed to protecting and uplifting our communities.
Together, these four leaders exemplify the very essence of the Charter Member movement: legacy, leadership, and a love that builds. We celebrate and honor them with the highest esteem.

The Catalyst Heritage Awards
In Honor of Joe and Gladys Grimaud
Presented by Ecumenical University and CityLight
Tonight, we proudly present The Catalyst Heritage Awards in honor of and Gladys Grimaud, whose lives exemplify steadfast faith, entrepreneurial excellence, and unwavering commitment to unity, healing, and heritage.
Married for 63 remarkable years, Joe and Gladys Grimaud raised three sons while building a legacy anchored in their shared devotion to God, family, country, and community. Joe, a courageous Vietnam War fighter pilot, brought the discipline and leadership of military service into the world of business. He opened a Midas Muffler shop in Alexandria, Louisiana, eventually growing their ventures into a national chain of Precision Tune franchises.

Their lives were guided by what Joe called the “Grimaud Law of Certainty”—the belief that consistent, focused effort in one direction will always yield results. This principle not only shaped their success in business but also defined their generosity and spiritual impact. Joe led by example in stewardship, modeling the importance of both tithing and saving 10%, building a financial foundation that would fund ministries, missions, and transformation around the world.
In 1991, Joe’s leadership reached new heights when he became President of Precision Tune Inc., rescuing the company from bankruptcy within a year. But his vision extended beyond the boardroom. In Washington, D.C., he adopted Frederick Douglass Jr. High Alternative School, demonstrating his belief in empowering underserved youth.
In 1996, amidst rising racial tensions in South Carolina, Joe and Gladys helped organize the City Light Columbia Unity Crusade in partnership with Dr. Tony Evans. This gathering drew over 80,000 people of all races to worship, repent, and unite in a powerful expression of reconciliation and healing. That same spirit of unity and faith continued to animate their lives and ministries.
Ordained as ministers in the Ecumenical Church, Joe and Gladys undertook distinct yet equally impactful missions. Joe founded ventures like Chapin Furniture, while Gladys became the founding force behind CityLight, an international ministry of compassion and empowerment. Through Esther Women of Influence, Gladys has positively impacted lives in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean, empowering women and building schools, clinics, and sustainable projects.
As a co-founder of Ecumenical University and the Ester Women of Influence, Gladys helped launch campuses on three continents, advancing a global vision of faith-based education. Even after Joe’s passing in 2020, the Grimaud legacy continues. Their sons—David, Greg, and Keith—carry forward Joe’s entrepreneurial spirit, while Gladys remains a driving force behind their shared commitment to philanthropy, missions, and transformation.
Tonight, we honor Joe and Gladys Grimaud not only for what they built, but for the values they lived: faith, vision, sacrifice, and a love that crossed racial and cultural boundaries to bring healing and hope to the world.
The Catalyst Heritage Award is proudly presented in their name to Mr. Joe Ouzts.

Donald Prioleau, Sr.
Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa Community Leader | Mayor Emeritus | Civic Historian | Humanitarian
Donald Prioleau, Sr., is a devoted public servant, visionary civic leader, and tireless community advocate whose legacy of service has helped shape the cultural and civic identity of Ridgeway, South Carolina, and beyond. Over the span of more than forty-five years, Mr. Prioleau has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to justice, youth empowerment, historical preservation, and inclusive leadership.
Born and raised in Ridgeway, Mr. Prioleau built a successful career in the trucking industry while simultaneously emerging as a respected figure in his hometown. His career in public service began with a historic election to the Ridgeway Town Council in 2000, where he became the first African American to hold elected office in the town. His leadership deepened when he was elected Ridgeway’s first Black mayor, a position in which he brought vision, transparency, and infrastructure progress to a historically segregated municipality.
During his tenure as mayor, Mr. Prioleau championed improvements in Ridgeway’s water and fire protection systems, addressed community health needs by helping to attract the Ridgeway Family Practice medical clinic, and strengthened civic events that united the town, such as the popular “Pig on the Ridge” BBQ festival. His tenure demonstrated that progress rooted in equity, access, and inclusion is not only possible but necessary.
Deeply rooted in faith, Mr. Prioleau is a lifelong member and Elder at Lebanon Presbyterian Church (USA), where he has also served as President of the Men’s Council. His mentoring extended beyond church walls through his leadership as Boy Scout Master of Troop #173, where he shaped generations of boys into men of character, integrity, and service.
Mr. Prioleau has also been a fierce advocate for the preservation of Black educational history. As President of the Fairfield High School Alumni Association, he led the effort to save Fairfield High School—a beloved institution in the African American community—from demolition. Through tireless fundraising and advocacy, he helped transform the school into a historical museum that now educates the public and honors the legacy of Black educators and students across generations.
Among his many accolades, Mr. Prioleau was awarded the Citizen of the Year by the Town of Ridgeway, received the Rollins Edwards Living Legacy Award in 2023, and in 2024, was honored with the naming of a South Carolina state road in his name. A proud 33rd Degree Mason, he holds leadership roles in Masonic and Shriner organizations and is widely respected for his spiritual and civic influence.
A man of faith, vision, and generational impact, Donald Prioleau, Sr. has given his life to the betterment of others. His leadership has preserved sacred history, uplifted his neighbors, and demonstrated the power of quiet, enduring service.
In recognition of his extraordinary devotion to humanity, Ecumenical University proudly confers upon him the Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa.
Cecil J. Williams
Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa
Civil Rights Photographer | Archivist | Museum Founder | Author
Cecil J. Williams is an acclaimed civil rights photographer, author, museum founder, and national treasure whose powerful images and storytelling have preserved South Carolina’s—and America’s—Black freedom struggle for generations. His life’s work has shaped the visual and historical memory of a transformative era in U.S. history.

Born and raised in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Williams began documenting life in the Jim Crow South as a teenager, using his camera as a courageous tool of truth. By age 15, his photographs were being published nationally. He became one of the few Black photographers credentialed to cover the White House, capturing President John F. Kennedy and other national leaders, while simultaneously chronicling grassroots activism across the Deep South.
Williams documented key moments in the civil rights movement, including sit-ins, student protests, and NAACP legal battles. His images of the Orangeburg Massacre, where three students were killed by police on the campus of South Carolina State in 1968, remain among the most iconic and haunting visuals of the era. These photographs not only bore witness to injustice but challenged the nation to confront its conscience.
Determined to preserve this vital history, Williams opened the Cecil Williams South Carolina Civil Rights Museum in 2019. Located in Orangeburg, the museum stands as South Carolina’s first and only civil rights museum, housing thousands of photographs, artifacts, and documents collected over 60 years. It is a sanctuary of memory and a beacon of learning for future generations.
In addition to his photography and curatorial achievements, Williams is the author of several books, including Freedom & Justice, Orangeburg 1968, and Unforgettable: The Life and Legacy of Sarah Mae Flemming. His publications explore overlooked chapters in the fight for civil rights and elevate the stories of everyday heroes who helped shape the course of history.
Williams’ tireless work has earned national recognition from civil rights leaders, educators, journalists, and historians. His images are held in collections at the Library of Congress and other major institutions, and his life has been profiled in documentaries, museums, and public broadcasts. He has been honored by the South Carolina General Assembly and celebrated as a living legend in African American heritage preservation.
A man of remarkable humility and visionary impact, Cecil J. Williams has given voice to the voiceless, sight to the unseen, and dignity to the dismissed. His legacy ensures that the struggle for justice and equality will never be forgotten.
In recognition of his life’s dedication to truth, education, and cultural preservation, Ecumenical University proudly confers upon Cecil J. Williams the Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa.

Brenda C. Murphy
Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa Veteran | Nurse Administrator | Civil Rights Leader | Humanitarian
Brenda C. Murphy has dedicated her life to advancing the causes of justice, health equity, and human dignity—locally, statewide, and nationally. A native of Ridgeway, South Carolina, and longtime resident of Columbia, she is a decorated U.S. Army Reserve officer, a respected nursing educator and administrator, and a pioneering civil rights advocate who has helped shape the moral and social conscience of South Carolina for over three decades.
Mrs. Murphy earned her Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Nursing from the University of South Carolina. Her professional career includes distinguished service in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where she rose to the rank of Associate Chief Nurse at major medical centers in Brooklyn, New York, as well as in Charleston and Columbia, South Carolina. In the U.S. Army Reserves, she attained the rank of Major, receiving numerous commendations for leadership and excellence in service.
Her commitment to mentoring future nurses was evident in her adjunct faculty roles at South Carolina State University, the University of South Carolina, the Medical University of South Carolina, and South University. Across these institutions, she instilled in students the importance of cultural sensitivity, compassion, and advocacy within the healthcare profession.
Mrs. Murphy's advocacy transcends the realm of healthcare. She made history as the first female president of the NAACP South Carolina State Conference, where she continues to lead with moral clarity and visionary resolve. As a lifelong member of the NAACP, her leadership has championed the national "Game Changers" platform, advancing equity in health and well-being, education innovation, racial justice, an inclusive economy, litigation and advocacy, and next-generation leadership development. Her work has galvanized youth and college engagement and strengthened partnerships across civil society.
Among her many accolades are the Juanita Jackson Mitchell Award for Legal Activism from the NAACP, the Director’s Leadership Award from the U.S. Department of Justice, and the Palmetto Gold Nursing Award. The Columbia Urban League has also recognized her, the Racial Justice Network, and multiple local institutions for her enduring contributions to social justice and public health.
An active civic leader, Mrs. Murphy serves on the boards of the United Way of South Carolina, the SC Unitarian Universalist Justice Alliance, and the American Red Cross Regional Diversity Committee. She is also a member of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Sorority, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the Prince Hall Masonic family, where she holds national leadership roles.
Brenda C. Murphy’s work is rooted in faith, compassion, and action. A dedicated member of Greenview First Baptist Church, she lives her mission to “advocate for justice and equality for all people.” Her extraordinary record of service, integrity, and impact stands as a model of public leadership in the 21st century.
In recognition of her lifelong commitment to health, justice, education, and community empowerment, Ecumenical University is honored to confer upon Brenda C. Murphy the Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa.
Jannie Harriot
Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa Educator | Public Historian | Cultural Preservationist | Advocate for Equity
Jannie Harriot is a distinguished educator, cultural preservationist, and community advocate whose visionary leadership has transformed the landscape of African American historical preservation in South Carolina. For more than three decades, she has dedicated her life to ensuring that the stories, contributions, and voices of Black South Carolinians are honored, recorded, and shared with future generations.

Born in Hartsville, South Carolina, and educated in the public schools of Fair and Richland Counties, Ms. Harriot is a proud graduate of Butler High School. She began her academic career at Talladega College in Alabama and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. A dedicated educator, she spent decades teaching in public schools across North and South Carolina and served as an instructor in community colleges in New Jersey. Throughout her educational journey, she emphasized integrity, inclusion, and the importance of history in shaping students’ understanding of themselves and the world.
In 1990, Ms. Harriot returned to Hartsville and expanded her focus from classrooms to communities. She served in several local leadership roles and retired in 2005 as Executive Director of Allendale County First Steps for School Readiness. Her tireless work in early childhood education helped improve educational access and outcomes in some of the state’s most underserved areas.
Ms. Harriot is best known for her extraordinary contributions to African American historic preservation and public history. As a founding member of the South Carolina African American Heritage Commission (SCAAHC), she served as Vice Chair and Chair, becoming its most visible and enduring advocate. Under her leadership, the Commission expanded its influence, built partnerships, secured critical funding, and launched groundbreaking initiatives to uplift Black cultural heritage statewide.
As Executive Director of the South Carolina African American Heritage Foundation, Ms. Harriot led innovative projects that blended education, tourism, and preservation. These include the creation of The Green Book of South Carolina, a mobile travel guide to over 300 African American cultural sites; teacher training institutes on school desegregation history; and curriculum resources aligned with South Carolina’s academic standards that center Black voices and contributions.
Her preservation efforts extend to saving endangered landmarks, increasing the number of African American historic sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and spearheading public history performances such as Becoming Harriet Tubman and FREED. She is currently leading the development of a new African American history museum in Darlington County and serves as Executive Director of Development and Programs for the South Carolina Civil Rights Museum, founded by civil rights photographer Cecil J. Williams.
Ms. Harriot’s impact has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Governor’s Award in the Humanities, the Order of the Palmetto, and selection as a South Carolina African American History Calendar Honoree. Her voice has become one of wisdom, truth, and advocacy in the ongoing quest for cultural equity and historical justice.
In honor of her enduring contributions to education, preservation, and civic memory, Ecumenical University proudly confers upon Jannie Harriot the Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa.
Ecumenical University's Statement of Faith
The sole basis of our beliefs is the Bible, God's infallible written Word, the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. We believe that it was uniquely, verbally and fully inspired by the Holy Spirit and that it was written without error (inerrant) in the original manuscripts. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters on which it speaks.
We accept those areas of doctrinal teaching on which, historically, there has been general agreement among all true Christians. Because of the specialized calling of our movement, we desire to allow for freedom of conviction on other doctrinal matters, provided that any interpretation is based upon the Bible alone, and that no such interpretation shall become an issue which hinders the ministry to which God has called us.
There is one true God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – each of whom possesses equally all the attributes of Deity and the characteristics of personality.
Jesus Christ is God, the living Word, who became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth. Hence, He is perfect Deity and true humanity united in one person forever.
He lived a sinless life and voluntarily atoned for the sins of men by dying on the cross as their substitute, thus satisfying divine justice and accomplishing salvation for all who trust in Him alone.
He rose from the dead in the same body, though glorified, in which He lived and died.
He ascended bodily into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God the Father, where He, the only mediator between God and man, continually makes intercession for His own. Man was originally created in the image of God. He sinned by disobeying God; thus, he was alienated from his Creator. That historic fall brought all mankind under divine condemnation.
Man's nature is corrupted, and he is thus totally unable to please God. Every man is in need of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
The salvation of man is wholly a work of God's free grace and is not the work, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness or religious ceremony. God imputes His righteousness to those who put their faith in Christ alone for their salvation and thereby justified them in His sight.
It is the privilege of all who are born again of the Spirit to be assured of their salvation from the very moment in which they trust Christ as their Savior. This assurance is not based upon any kind of human merit but is produced by the witness of the Holy Spirit, who confirms in the believer the testimony of God in His written word.
The Holy Spirit has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ and to apply the saving work of Christ to men. He convicts and draws sinners to Christ, imparts new life to them, continually indwells them from the moment of spiritual birth and seals them until the day of redemption. His fullness, power, and control are appropriated in the believer's life by faith.
Every believer is called to live so in the power of the indwelling Spirit that he will not fulfill the lust of the flesh but will bear fruit to the glory of God.
Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church, His Body, which is composed of all men, livin and dead, who have been joined to Him through saving faith.
God admonishes His people to assemble together regularly for worship, for participation in ordinances, for edification through the Scriptures and for mutual encouragement.
At physical death, the believer enters immediately into eternal, conscious fellowship with the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting glory and blessing.
At physical death, the unbeliever enters immediately into eternal, conscious separation from the Lord and awaits the resurrection of his body to everlasting judgment and condemnation.
Jesus Christ will come again to the earth – personally, visibly and bodily – to consummate history and the eternal plan of God.
The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple men of every nation. The fulfillment of that Great Commission requires that all worldly and personal ambitions be subordinated to a total commitment to "Him who loved us and gave Himself for us."
