horoscopes Jinrong Lei | Rawr

It’s easy to lose your temper this week. Such irrational and childish behaviors will ruin your impressions with others. Try avoiding them in order not to break down the relationships with friends and small animals.

Gemini 5/21-6/21

You have been faced with many decisions lately. Playing dumb can be a good solution when you don’t know what to do about them.

Cancer 6/22-7/22

You’d better find some partners to help with your important missions this time. Fighting alone will not do you any favors.

Leo 7/23-8/22

This is your lucky week — all the troubles and pain will be gone. What you need to do is to pay more attention to your social relationships.

Virgo 8/23-9/22

For you, this week will be half busy and half free. Be aware of managing your time wisely.

Libra 9/23-10/22

Capricorn 12/22-1/19

Scorpio 10/23-11/21

Don’t make any promises this week. It’s hard to keep them at this time. Learning how to refuse people’s expectations is a great step in your growth.

You will have many opportunities to improve your understanding of different subjects and skills. Some unexpected parties and papers may occupy your time more than you think. Try facing them with smiles, because your smiles will melt everything. Want to relax? I’m afraid you won’t have the chance. You will have to figure everything out this week. Of course, a smart student like you will kill every challenge, so go back to work now.

Sagittarius 11/22-12/21

Lately, you will have many conflicts with others. In order to survive dead week, you should forgive them and curse them behind their backs.

You’re good at both your studies and work, but don’t let your lazy mind ruin everything. Study hard, and then play hard.

Aquarius 1/20-2/18

Pisces 2/19-3/20

This week, you may find your significant other in a study room. Remember to balance your schoolwork and relationship.

Aries 3/21-4/19

Expressing yourself will be an important issue this week. Just show people your opinions — you will love yourself more and more by the weekend.

Rethinking musicals “High School Musical” is among the reasons why musicals have been ruined for most of our generation. But remember, “High School Musical” is not representative of the musical theater genre. Here are five musical theater songs that don’t suck.

“Left Behind” – “Spring Awakening”

This song plays less like the stereotypical, nasal, over peppy sound we are used to associating with musical theater and more Kevin Douglas like a life ballad you’ve heard “I’m Not That Guy” – “Bloody Neighbors on your favorite artist’s new Rawr album. This song reflects on Bloody Andrew Jackson” the character, Moritz’s, suicide. On the onset this song is reminiscent of traditional musical theater, Johnathon Groff sings about how his friend’s parents treated Moritz before but before you know it Benjamin Walker the suicide and all that is left behind and company transforms it into a rock following his death. theater is. This song is from the Tonywinning, Pulitzer prize-receiving, hiphop musical “Hamilton.” This is the second song in the show, and sets the precedent for what the musical is. The song and the entire show is not just a musical. Hamilton uses hip-hop, R&B and rap to tell the story of Alexander Hamilton, and this song sets the tone for this — another all-American musical.

“My Unfortunate Erection (Chip’s Lament)” – “Putnam County Spelling Bee” This one may be familiar to anyone who saw the University of Idaho’s production of “Putnam County Spelling Bee.” This one is for any guys who have ever experienced the embarrassment of adolescence, more specifically, the awkward issue in your pants that stops you from getting up in class and solving the math problem. The song is a hoot, hilarious for both guys and

girls. It’s sure to make anyone listing laugh at your next party.

“Taylor, the Latte Boy” – “Marcy Heisler” This song is a fun one. Espresso brings us all joy, but what makes us even happier are the sometimes beautiful people who serve us our coffee. This song by Heisler is inspired by her own experience crushing on the barista who served her daily Starbucks coffee. The lyrics are witty, and sung by Zina Goldrich they become all the more entertaining as she plays with the language and lyrics, and expresses them in a way we can all relate to standing in line waiting for our morning lattes. dominate summer of 2016 with a few strategically released singles. Beyonce isn’t the only pop diva I see regaining top 40 stardom this summer. Katy Perry is overdue for a new single, Christina Aguilera is rumored to be gearing up for a new release and I’d like to see Pink unleash some of her well-known edge to jam to in the warm weather. Arianna Grande has been holding her own in the lady’s pop category, but I have a feeling this summer will bring a revival of some voices from my childhood.

It’s a trend impossible to escape in today’s more popular hits, and I predict this summer it will reach new heights. This trend is an increased demand for EDM-like sounds in pop music, and I guess that shouldn’t be surprising — pop music is meant to reflect what is popular. DJs have dominated recent charts, with The Chainsmokers and Kygo leading the pack. But this trend doesn’t stop with the artists who have consistently delivered electronic tracks — everyone, even artists who haven’t dabbled in Calvin Harris and Taylor club beats and drops before, Swift will collaborate are getting in on the action. In a recent interview on “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” Harris responded to speculations of a possible girlfriend-boyfriend recording session by saying, “You know, we haven’t even spoken about it. I can’t see it happening, though. No. She’s about to take a long break, you know?” He then added that her constant support and subtle promotion of his work is amazing, and continued to gush. Oh so sweet, but I hate to be proven wrong. Their collaboration makes the list regardless, if only for the sake of wishful thinking.

Everyone will have their summer 2016 anthem This is a gimme, but it’s one of my favorite things about summer singles. The nostalgic element of music seems to be in the full-force come June — days are longer, the radio is always playing in the background — and certain popular songs become the soundtrack to that particular summer. And with the increasing popularity of streaming services like Spotify and Apple Music, having control over which hits are played over and over (as opposed to let-

It’s always fun to hear a Taio Cruz single from the summer before freshman year of high school and remember the adventures that coincide with the times I rocked out to that particular song. I am excited to see what this summer brings. Lyndsie Kiebert can be reached at arg-arts@uidaho.edu and on Twitter @lyndsie_kiebert

A man with purpose Friday friction

Luis Torres Rawr

People can go through a lot of changes in their lives. Some have a certain mystique about them that others just don’t understand. This individual is a man of a thousand stories. He is a man with a purpose. A man on a mission to conquer his personal demons. His name is Stefan Montana. Stefan is a 32-year-old San Diego native who by day owns multiple car dealerships. But by night, he’s a mystery. Stefan vilifies the night scene in Southern California and channels his hatred by being an undercover cop. But its his personal tale that makes him mysterious. For most of his life, Stefan has endured pain and tragedy. But the biggest sting was when his high school sweetheart Alina Perry, an intellectual bombshell, went missing on prom night March 17, 2001. The couple didn’t have a “love at first sight” encounter when they met in a house party in fall 1998. The two had contrasting personalities, with Alina being more ravishing and social than Stefan. However, a simple conversation about academics became a relationship. The two were insanely in love. They envisioned themselves going to New York City after graduating high school. Both were accepted to one of the top institutions in New York and planned on living together. But it all ended abruptly, and began a cultivation of unfortunate events that haunted Stefan for years. Nobody in the public eye, including Stefan, has heard of her since, but in reality she was abducted by the Miranda regime (Ruben, Tio and Eddie) and left for dead. The Miranda’s have been the kingpin of the drug industry since Raul Montana, Stefan’s dad, was murdered by Ruben in Miami. They behave in a callous manner and are not afraid to murder anyone in their path. In fall 2011, Alina escaped the Miranda Estate in Miami and hasn’t been heard from since. Rumors had circulated that Alina currently lives in the northwest, others claim she lives in the city of jewels, La Jolla. However, no evidence

has been verified that she lives in any of those areas. Since Alina escaped, the Miranda’s have been on a hunt to find her by hiring a stunning business agent named Maia, who has been stalking Montana for years. Stefan and Maia dated for over a year and considered to be the best entertainment moguls in the world. But a fallout involving soccer superstar Antwon Blakeslee led to their nasty breakup and ended Montana’s agency career. Not only does Stefan vilify Maia, but he also wishes death on the regime like they did to his father, his two cousins in 1997 and his friends Jean Carter, Stefan’s former boss at Rylie’s Tavern, and Gene Smith, his college friend from New York in a span of six months in 2011. Montana knows they may have a lot to do with all of their deaths and Alina’s absence. If that wasn’t enough, Stefan went through a hard time during which he abused drugs, from acid to LSD, and cut himself to ease his pain.

Years later, Broadcast Journalism Professors Russell Meeuf and Denise Bennett have taken the task of reviving the once dispelled film studies program. The two are working with faculty from the journalism, English and theatre departments to generate a new curriculum for a film studies degree. If everything goes as planned, the degree will be available Fall 2017. “The University already has a fantastic pool of faculty and existing coursework across several different departments,” Meeuf said. “This program will bring those courses and faculty together to better serve students with

The two were married and when they retired, they retired together. During that time, the university was in the middle of budget cuts, so the program was cut. The remaining related courses were relegated to their respected departments. “We want to provide a detailed curriculum in film and television using the established film school model that blends history, culture and theory with hands-on production courses,” Meeuf said.
