Admission Requirements: • BA/Diploma in Linguistics/English Lit./ Translation. Candidates with other qualifications are required to have 3 years experience in the field of translation. • Pass the Admission Placement Test. • Pass the Admission Interview. Diploma Objectives: • Develops professional translation skills • Equips participants with the Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) skills Program Overview The Diploma in Applied Translation Program provides a comprehensive education to establish the common base of knowledge and skills required for performance in the field of translation. As shown on the content, the Core Applied Translation Curriculum consists of 6 courses of studies, divided into two phases. Phase one focuses on the ground preparation of the professional Translator/Interpreter. Phase two expands participants knowledge and skills on specialized areas of translation. Each curriculum covers specific functional areas in the translation field as part of a systematic method to prepare the TI to perform to the highest standard possible in this critical field of performance. Program Duration Five-month program (3 months for classroom instructions and 2 months for translation project. Classroom days/times: 4 days a week (Sat. to Tue), 3 hours a day; Evening sessions.
