WATERING WISDOM
By Jake Sizer
KEEPING IT GREEN
The warmer weather may be gone for now but our irrigation is still needed for use on the course. With some of our products and fertilisers needing to be watered in on our greens. This week we have been putting a natural product out to deal with our worm cast issues. This product has to be watered in with a soil penetrant so our irrigation system was once again primed and running. This was when all our issues came to the surface again.
PLUMBING PROBLEMS ON PAR
A major leak on the right hand side of the 2nd fairway appeared Causing a section of turf to bubble. When dug all the way down to the water table there was no pipe in sight We dug another large hole 1.5m away and managed to find the pipe. The pressure and damage of the leak caused a bubble further away from where the problem actually was This pipe is now under repair and there are a few more out over the course that will be addressed soon.
A special thanks to Julian Green, Billy Clifton, Anthony Webber and Pete McSween & his team with the building, clean up and pathway works at the 1st tee The new fence from the 1st tee looks amazing and completes this area. Jobs like this make the club look presentable and give an instant impact aswell as protection for the carpark.
Hope everyone has a great time golfing on the course.

Jake

Back to the Future...
Many a treasure was unearthed recently. The QGC Time Capsule was dug up a little before its time. It's now reburied for a future generation to discover. (With a better marker this time.) And the odd vase or 100 was discovered when Fay Neville spent a wintery day spring cleaning. Thanks Fay!

Surely I'm not alone in thinking golf would have to be one of the most confusing sports ever played. Member, Kyne Krusic-Golub, agrees and thought this video from Golf Monthly would help. Now we can all stop scratching our heads.
Thanks Phonse!
