Last week, some of our members delivered outstanding performances at the EJ Whitten Charity Golf Day at Portarlington! This fun-filled four-person Ambrose event, dedicated to supporting Men’s Health, brought the community together for a great cause Our members showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, securing 1st and 3rd place! A special congratulations to the winning team from Queenscliff - Barry Gladman, James Gladman, Murray Warren, and Charles Caldwell An incredible achievement!
Golf isn’t just about competition; it’s also fantastic for mental health. The blend of physical activity, social interaction, and time spent in nature, all contribute to reducing stress and boosting overall well-being. Events like this not only assist vital support networks but also remind us of the positive impact golf can have on our mental and physical health Well done to everyone involved!
We are thrilled to announce the opening of our new Junior/Short Course. The front 9 holes are now complete, with the back 9 not far off. The layout is approximately half the distance of the traditional blue markers and is identified by grey tiles on the course. Once established we will have the course rated. The Junior Course will provide an excellent stepping stone for our younger players, allowing them to enjoy the full golf experience while playing from distances that suit their developing abilities We can’t wait to see our junior members take on this exciting new challenge This is a fantastic opportunity for them to learn, compete, and most importantly, have fun! Come out and give it a try! Click Here to Get the Short Course Lowdown!
We’re also bringing back a club favourite with a twist on the old-fashioned Meat Tray Raffle Up for grabs each week is a $100 voucher for the Bellarine Country Butcher, allowing you to choose from a selection of premium meats. Numbers 1-100 are available to purchase for $2 each with the winning number drawn from numbered golf balls. All profits will go towards supporting our Men’s Pennant Teams in 2025.

SHORT COURSE - THE LOWDOW
The Tidal Grey Tee-Markers lie flat to the ground to minimise fairway maintenance, so they might be a bit tricky to spot (for some). But you will find them positioned halfway between the main tees and the greens, offering a shorter yet strategic challenge— perfect for beginners, junior golfers, or those looking for a fastpaced game.
For example, on the 1st hole, the standard distance to the green is 281 meters, while the short course measures 196 meters. On the 9th, the Tidal Grey Marker is 90mt to the green.
Once Golf Australia completes the official course rating, competitive play from the Tidal Grey tees will be ready to tee off!
