PVIS Hosts 12th Annual Invitational Cross Country

Gold Standard . . . PVIS 8th grader Alex Naehu wins the 7th/8th grade boys race by a wide margin.

• The Palos Verdes Intermediate School cross country team held its annual invitational last week featuring teams from all over the Peninsula and South Bay. PVIS 8th grader Alex Naehu won the 2-mile race to help lead the Sea Kings to the boys’ team victory ahead of Hermosa Valley and Manhattan Beach middle schools.

Addison Lundstrum, Trinity McKeny and Natalie Wan took the top three places in the girls’ 7th/8th grade race to help lead the Sea Kings to the team victory ahead of Adams and Manhattan Beach middle schools.

The PVIS 6th grade boys and girls teams each won team championships.

PVIS Girls Stay Close . . . 7th/8th grade Sea Kings placed five runners in the top 10 to easily win the team championship.

Sea Kings Overpower Panthers

Football

• All three Palos Verdes High School football teams had shutout victories over the Peninsula High Panthers last week.

The varsity Sea Kings got a 44-0 win and finished the regular season with its ninth straight Bay League championship.

The Sea Kings played Loyola Friday in the first round of CIF Division 4 playoffs. Peninsula also qualified for CIF playoffs and played Crescenta Valley in Division 10 action Friday.
