Back In Black . . . The Peninsula High varsity football team takes the field for the first game of the season last week.

• The football season is underway while today marks the legendary AYSO Picture Day at Peninsula High. High school and Pop Warner football are already a few games into their seasons, while AYSO soccer, the largest youth league in the South Bay, begins action today. The cross country season begins this week with the PV Invitational, and the city of Rolling Hills Estates hosts its annual City Celebration birthday party at Ernie Howlett Park next weekend.
