"I care because you do" is a two minds and four hands work.
I was commissioned by Leo Eseblana, a talented tattooer and artist, to make a small zine as a way to present his at the time new flash book.
The original idea was to use Leo's tattoo fleshes scans and the photos he had taken around in the rural landscapes of his town, mixing them up.
I decided to go for a full strong black and white book with high contrasts, to match his tattoo style which is mostly blackwork.
I edited the photos, making some of them somewhat difficult to read, while some other are kept in their simplicity, just turned black and white.
The cover is the only accent of colour: a bright red on an edited photo of a stone wall corroded by time, infusing a sense of decay and strenght.
