"Smell the Roses was never originally intended to make it to stage, I wrote it in my second year of University as a 10 minute short. However, I felt I wasn't prepared to leave it, or the characters behind and in third year, applied for the Liam Byrne Award Fund and received funding to give me the chance get this project on its feet. I worked for several months on extending the piece before casting. The joy of 'Smell the Roses' for me is how relatable the struggles of our characters are and the beauty of human connection and relationships."
