ABOUT US

We believe in the power of continuous learning and providing access to education for all. We offer a caring and nurturing environment for individuals who may struggle with mainstream education, with flexible scheduling to fit their lifestyles and focus on hands-on, experiential learning. Our learning centres are based in Gloucester and Cheltenham, where people can learn skills which promote independence, promote recovery, and enhance quality of life.

We live and breathe social inclusion and our events team know how to have fun. We provide an exciting programme of events that are fully inclusive and open to members of the public. This approach enables people to make friends whilst in a safe and supportive environment. Prosperity Care Events run a monthly night club event, as well as group activities such as surf club, water sports, sculpture and pottery, community gardening, woodland walks, and much more.

Our team of specialised holistic therapists offer a range of treatments which can be hugely beneficial. Studies suggest that holistic therapies can help to reduce stress, promote relaxation and enhance overall physical and emotional health. Our holistic practitioners offer meditation, mindfulness, yoga, massage, acupuncture and EFT. These therapies complement traditional mental health treatments and may help to support overall recovery and wellbeing. Prosperity Holistic Therapies are provided by a team of fully qualified and insured practitioners.

OUR VALUES

Sure we do amazing things. But it’s what we stand for that’s so awesome.

Put simply… we care!

06

01. WE ARE SOLUTIONS FOCUSED

02. WE ARE BRAVE AND BOLD

We have plenty of experience in the world of care and enjoy a challenge. The path can be confusing but we will always find a solution that fits.

“Where there’s a will, there’s a way.”

We strive to provide the best quality care and are not afraid to speak up to make it happen. We can be the voice for people who might not have one or stand right behind those that do.

03. WE CHAMPION EVERY INDIVIDUAL

04. WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER

We champion others by listening, supporting, and encouraging people to achieve their ambitions. We work together to enable progress and help people to feel valued.

We may not have all the answers, but we do our best to find the experts who do. We will work in partnership with the individual, family, friends, and circles of support to provide access to all the specialist care required.

05. WE’VE GOT CARE AT OUR CORE

06. WE WORK TO BE BETTER EVERY DAY

Our Managing Director started his career as a support worker and continues to work closely on the ‘front line’. Care first, business second will always be our motto. ‘You can teach skills but you can’t teach someone to care.’

We know we aren’t perfect and we might not get things right every time. We are constantly learning and are committed to keeping up to date with best practices and training opportunities.

Learning Disability Support

We are dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities to live the lives they choose. We believe in promoting a sense of identity and encouraging individuals to let their personalities shine. We are advocates for real social inclusion opportunities and strive to set the standard for others to follow.

CASE STUDY

Sandra’s Story

Sandra has a learning disability and autism. For over 30 years, she lived in a residential care setting in a rural location with ten other adults. When Sandra was younger, she enjoyed spending time with others and helping on the farm. In later life, her health needs and interests changed.

Our top priority is to provide high-quality care and support to the people we work with. We listen to their needs and direction, and work with their circles of support to find ways to make their goals and dreams a reality. We are committed to moving forwards, keeping life exciting, and celebrating every achievement.

Sandra’s social worker reached out to Prosperity Care and Wellbeing to find an alternative care option. Sandra now lives in a quiet, homely environment with one other person, which offers her and her housemate plenty of space. Sandra’s sister said; ‘Sandra has found a new lease of life and is the happiest and most settled she has been in many years. She has an active social life and the staff at Prosperity Care and Wellbeing are wonderful.’

We are grateful to have been able to support Sandra in finding a living situation that meets her needs and allows her to thrive.

13

Complex Behaviour Support

We are committed to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities and complex needs. We understand that people may sometimes present with behaviours which can be described as ‘challenging’, such as verbal or physical aggression. We believe that all behaviour is communication and that it is often a tool used to tell us when something is not going well for the individual.

To support people who exhibit these behaviours, we use the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model, which focuses on improving quality of life by adapting our

support, environments, and systems to better meet the needs of the individual. By changing our approach and minimising triggers, we are able to reduce behaviours that challenge and improve the quality of life for the individual and those around them.

Physical Disability Support

We understand that living with a physical disability can present unique challenges and strive to provide the highest quality care and support to help people to lead fulfilling, independent lives.

We believe in developing skills, achieving goals and supporting wellbeing. The support we provide for people with physical disabilities is fully tailored to meet each person’s particular needs, personal goals, and lifestyle. Where required, we use assistive technologies to support independence and make sure that peoples’ homes are suited to their needs.

14

Mental Health Care

We support people with mental health needs in their journey towards recovery. Our staff are trained to provide compassionate, non-judgemental support to individuals who may be in crisis, recovery, or simply need assistance to maintain their mental wellbeing.

We offer flexible levels of support that can be tailored to the needs of each individual. This can range from 24-hour support to visiting support, depending on the person’s needs. Our support can include providing companionship, helping to establish routines and skills, learning coping strategies, supporting with medication, accessing education or work, and building self-esteem and motivation.

CASE STUDY

Ryan’s Story

Ryan has been receiving support from mental health services since he was 16. At times Ryan has struggled with life’s challenges and has had difficulty remembering to take his medications.

Ryan moved into a Prosperity Care and Wellbeing service and now shares a home with two other individuals. He enjoys having staff around ‘in the background’ so that he can seek support when he needs it but likes to ‘come and go’ as he pleases. Ryan is thriving at college and is proudly working towards an apprenticeship .

Ryan said “The staff at Prosperity Care and Wellbeing are great. They support me when I’m not feeling well without taking over. They give me my space but genuinely care about me so I know I can talk to them about my worries.”

We are so proud of all that Ryan has accomplished and are grateful to have been able to support him on his journey.

15

We believe in taking a step-by-step approach to recovery and are prepared to provide additional support when needed, while also stepping back as our clients make progress. Our ultimate goal is to enable people with mental health needs to live fulfilling, healthy lives.

Home Care – Supported Living & Domiciliary Care

We offer both supported living and domiciliary care services to help individuals maintain their independence and continue living in their own home or community.

Our supported living services provide assistance with daily tasks such as personal care, medication management, and housekeeping, as well as support with socialisation and engagement in the community. Our care team is dedicated to helping individuals achieve their goals.

Our supported living services offer nurturing and caring environments, supporting people to feel empowered and play an active role in their communities.

Our domiciliary care services provide inhome care and support for individuals who need assistance with daily tasks but do not require the level of support provided in residential care.

Autism & Neurodiversity Support

We have a team of experienced professionals who specialise in supporting people with autism or neurodiversity. We recognise that every individual is unique, and while we take their diagnosis into consideration we never lose sight of the person.

16

We have a track record of successfully supporting individuals with autism to live independently, develop and maintain relationships, and find paid work. Our staff are trained to accommodate different methods of communication, address sensory needs, and help manage anxieties.

In addition to supporting individuals with autism, we also offer support to individuals with other neurodevelopmental conditions, such as sensory processing difficulties, ADHD, Tourette’s syndrome, selective mutism, and more. Our goal is to help people with autism and neurodiversity live fulfilling, meaningful lives.

Respite Care

We offer respite care services to provide temporary relief for caregivers who may need a break or are unavailable to provide care for a short period of time. Our respite care services can be customised to meet the specific needs of the individual and can be provided in the comfort of their own home or in a residential care setting.

Our respite care services offer a chance for caregivers to take a break, knowing that their loved one is receiving high-quality care in a safe and comfortable environment. Our care team is trained to provide support with activities such as personal care, medication management, household chores, as well as socialisation and engagement in the community.

Respite care can be a valuable resource for caregivers, helping to prevent burnout and promote balance in their own lives.

17

Live-In Care

We offer live-in care services that allow individuals to receive quality care in the comfort of their own home. Our live-in care services offer flexibility, independence, companionship, and continuity all while allowing individuals to live in familiar surroundings. Our care team are dedicated to providing personalised care and building trust with our clients, which is achieved by providing a consistent team of support workers who can develop nurturing and caring relationships.

Elderly Care

We understand the importance of providing high-quality care to individuals of an older generation. Our caring support workers are available to provide care whenever it is needed, including overnight.

We strive to blend into the background and become an extension of our clients’ households, building kind and caring relationships with them. Our team enables people to remain in the comfort of their own

homes, surrounded by all the memories and familiar comforts that are so important to them.

We actively promote independence and help our clients maintain their skills and lead the best quality of life possible. This includes facilitating activities such as dining out, exercising, taking city breaks, and visiting family. Our staff are also available to assist with everyday tasks such as personal care, medication administration, falls prevention, diary management, and housekeeping.

Prosperity Holistic Therapies are provided by a team of qualified therapists who have many years’ experience in supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, physical disabilities, elderly, and end of life care. Our therapists are skilled to adapt their approaches accordingly and will offer a specialist and person centered treatment plan.

Holistic therapies can reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance overall physical and emotional health. Our therapists will conduct an initial consultation to identify the best course of treatments and will advise on the benefits of each treatment. The therapist will fully explain what to expect before providing the treatment, ask consent each time, be clear about the costings and write a comprehensive report at the end of each treatment.

Sometimes, people with learning difficulties have additional health problems, which could include:

• Epilepsy

• Bowel blockages

• Joint pain

• Backache (due to poor posture or wheelchair use)

• Tiredness/severe fatigue

• Side effects of medication

Therapies may help to manage pain relief and tension from these conditions and treatments can be adapted to accommodate those who are less mobile, such as people who are in wheelchairs or need assistance moving their limbs. In addition to physical challenges, there are a number of accompanying mental health challenges such as:

• Stress or tension due to difficulties understanding or relating to other peoples’ emotions or knowing why they are not allowed to do certain things

• Hyperactivity

• Depression/feeling upset

• Changes in mood and energy

WORKPLACE WELLBEING PROGRAMME

Show your staff how much you care

What is the importance of workplace wellbeing?

The Covid-19 pandemic changed the way we work forever, bringing focus to the health and wellbeing of employees in the work place. Whether people remain working from home or are back in the office, employers are now much more aware of their responsibilities to keep people safe and to promote good mental and physical health.

Every year, businesses lose millions of working days due to ill health, work related stress, depression, and anxiety. This has a direct financial impact on the business but also contributes to staff burn out, high staff turn over, low morale within the work force or poor business reputation.

With recruitment difficulties across all sectors, staff are now looking for more than just a higher salary. There is a growing trend for staff to seek employment with businesses which offer better working conditions, and where their wellbeing is valued and considered paramount.

How can Prosperity Holistic Therapists help?

We have a team of therapists and wellbeing gurus who have years of experience in a variety of disciplines. We are able to assign a specific therapist to organisations, ensuring they can build relationships with staff to enable them to disconnect, relax, and unwind.

We are professional but fun. We understand therapies may not be for everyone, but everyone will benefit from holistic treatments. If you aren’t convinced, we urge you to have an open mind and give it a go!

Prosperity Care & Wellbeing Conway House | 31-33 Worcester Street | Gloucester | GL1 3AJ phone 0330 320 9144 envelope info@prosperitycare.co.uk

• Mobile head and neck massage – Our therapists will come to your office or place of work and can provide a heavenly head or neck massage to a group of employees. They will preferably take people away from the desk for a 30 minute massage to aid relaxation, reduce stress, and remove knots and tensions. We are very used to people falling asleep, zoning out and reporting to have forgotten that they were at work for a while. Testimonials from clients confirm that staff very much look forward to their monthly pamper, which supports better sleep and shows employer commitment to their wellbeing.

• Mobile full body massage – A therapist will arrive with their massage couch, towels, essential oils, aromatherapy units and music station and can transform any quiet space within a work setting. Treatments last from 30 minutes to one hour and there are many styles of massage available to meet individual preferences such as Swedish massage, sports massage, lymphatic draining and many more.

• We have holistic therapy rooms in Central Gloucester and Cheltenham to provide a real pamper experience. We offer discounted corporate gift vouchers, enabling employers to reward staff with meaningful gifts in appreciation for work commitment or just to say thank you.

• We are proud to have developed a number of successful wellbeing programmes, designed specifically for individual organisations. Our services provide team building sessions, mindfulness, problem solving, resilience training, taking care of each other, mental health first aid training, and more.

Prosperity Education and Training are an alternative education provider, offering an exciting programme in a caring and nurturing environment. Our programmes cater for individuals who may struggle with mainstream education, by providing flexible scheduling to fit their lifestyles and focus on hands-on, experiential learning.

Our learning centres are based in Gloucester and Cheltenham, and the programmes can be delivered in a person’s home on a 1:1 basis by the education and skills team. We encourage individuals to learn life skills which promote independence, promote recovery, and enhance quality of life.

Due to our flexible approach to learning, we often find that people achieve learning outcomes, without realising that they are participating in education.

We promote skills through participation in activities of interest, such as setting projects around things that matter to the person.

Many of our programmes are designed to support people with autism or a learning disability to achieve progression in all aspects of their lives. It is proof that, when offered the right kind of support and the right opportunities, individuals with autism and care needs can excel and thrive.
