Can I visit a Prosperity Care and Wellbeing service?

Yes. Please contact our office and ask to speak to a member of the senior management team who can arrange a date for you to visit. All visits need to be arranged in advance so that appropriate arrangements can be made.

Can I have a say in who cares for me or my loved ones?

Of course! We have huge talent and passion within our team, who we select for being the best! We encourage participation in our recruitment processes to ensure a compatible match centred around your needs.

How are placements funded?

Placements can be funded by the local authority via a combination of health and social services funding depending on the persons eligibility. For this reason the placement will need to be agreed by a social worker or health board contact. Some people may be in the position to privately fund their care. If you are unsure about funding, please call and speak to a member of the senior management team.

I do not require care but would like to join in with activities, is this something I am able to do?

Yes. All of our events are open to everyone. The activity programme is advertised on our website and can be booked online.

People and their relatives spoke highly of the provider and staff who cared for them. Words such as “the carers are extremely compassionate and dedicated”, “nothing is too much for them” and “I couldn’t recommend them enough” were used by relatives to describe the service.

- CQC Inspection Report

- CQC Inspection Report

The care that Prosperity Care and Wellbeing provides is exceptional and they always try and think outside the box to come to a resolution if a problem arises.

- Social Worker

They go above and beyond other companies I work with. They all really care about what’s happening for the person and never lose sight of why they are there. They always ensure the safety of those they are supporting. Staff are multi-skilled and always consider the person’s wishes, lifestyle and emotional wellbeing and how to overcome barriers and challenges.

- Health Care Professional

Prosperity Holistic Therapies are provided by a team of qualified therapists who have many years’ experience in supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, physical disabilities, elderly, and end of life care. Our therapists are skilled to adapt their approaches accordingly and will offer a specialist and person centered treatment plan.

Holistic therapies can reduce stress, promote relaxation, and enhance overall physical and emotional health. Our therapists will conduct an initial consultation to identify the best course of treatments and will advise on the benefits of each treatment. The therapist will fully explain what to expect before providing the treatment, ask consent each time, be clear about the costings and write a comprehensive report at the end of each treatment.

Sometimes, people with learning difficulties have additional health problems, which could include:

• Epilepsy

• Bowel blockages

• Joint pain

• Backache (due to poor posture or wheelchair use)

• Tiredness/severe fatigue

• Side effects of medication

Therapies may help to manage pain relief and tension from these conditions and treatments can be adapted to accommodate those who are less mobile, such as people who are in wheelchairs or need assistance moving their limbs. In addition to physical challenges, there are a number of accompanying mental health challenges such as:

• Stress or tension due to difficulties understanding or relating to other peoples’ emotions or knowing why they are not allowed to do certain things

• Hyperactivity

• Depression/feeling upset

• Changes in mood and energy

Adults with learning difficulties often respond well to sensory stimulus including light, sound, touch and textures, so the therapeutic touch experienced during massage and healing, with the addition of essential oils and gentle music, can really help them to relax and feel more balanced.
