Announcements & Releases Custom Retention Knobs and Machine Tool Components from TJ Davies Extend the Life and Precision of Older, or Obsolete Machine Tools Mantua, OH –T.J. Davies Co., Inc., an industry leading manufacturer of retention knobs, can make custom retention knobs, pull bolts, and other workholding components and accessories to fit older, or obsolete machinery. All dimensions of knobs can be customized, including length, diameter, thickness of collars, dimensions between collar and knob end, thread size, and more. Additionally, customers can specify a coolant hole, taper style, and whether O-rings are required. Custom made retention knobs are sized to fit the machine tool and spindle or toolholder to maximize the toolholders performance and cutting tool life and extend the life of existing machine tool assets.A fill-in-the-blanks form is provided at https://tjdavies. com/quote-request/ to simplify the process.Typical lead time for custom retention knobs is 3-4 weeks. All TJ Davies custom retention knobs are manufactured from Americanmade 8620 alloy steel which has a high tensile strength to withstand strong centrifugal force, high load force, high feed rate, and difficult to machine material. All knobs are machined in-house with single point threading to Imperial (Class 2A UNC) or Metric (Class G6) standards. After threading is completed, each component is heat treated to 58-62 HRC then treated with hot black oxide to military specifications for protection against corrosion. Each retention knob is magnetic particle tested and then pull tested to 2.5 times the pulling force of the drawbar it is designed for. The use of 8620 ensures that the components will work harden over time, rather than becoming brittle as is the case with the use 9310 alloy steel. Single point threading ensures that the threads are balanced (lead-in/leadout at 180 degrees) which is very difficult to achieve when rolling threads. Full depth is also attained for each thread. Because all machining is done with a single set-up, concentricity is achieved. Each component is heat treated to a case depth of .020 to .030. No carb is applied to coolant through hole to ensure there is no shrinkage. Core hardness of 40HRC is standard. All retention knob surfaces (not just mating surfaces) have a precision finish of 32 RMA micro or better, ISO grade 6N. Certifications are maintained for each step and each batch to ensure traceability and quality control. Overtightening can overly stress the retention knob, leading to premature failure, and can cause toolholder swelling and expansion.TJ Davies provides recommended torque guidelines with each retention knob shipped. Machine builder recommendations should always be used when available. Sockets for the proper installation of retention knobs are available, individually or as a complete set of 4. All sockets and retention knobs are manufactured to exact specifications that exceed industry standards and are available through distributors nationwide. For additional information on T.J. T. J. Snow Announces 2024 Resistance Welding Training Dates CHATTANOOGA,TN. ---- T. J. Snow is pleased to announce the return of their popular regional ResistanceWelding Seminars in 2024.T.J. Snow’s regional seminars have been hosted throughout the United States for over twenty years and are always received with praise from attendees.

3D Plastics Welcomes Richard Wells By Stephen Hannemann With 15-plus years in the injection molding industry and over 20 years in Quality Assurance, Richard Wells brings a wealth of experience to the 3D Plastics QA department. Anyone remotely familiar with injection molding knows the industry is a cruel mistress. With the proliferation of compounds, varying shrink rates, part complexity, and then throw in the constant temperature and humidity changes in the Pacific Northwest – injection molding is a challenge indeed. Richard, you are a brave man. Welcome! Richard landed at 3D at a full run on September 18th of this year. In his view, more important than immediately tweaking the nuts and bolts of the existing system, Richard is focusing on 3D’s customer experience. How are we doing? What are we doing well? What areas can we improve upon? These are the important questions that include on-time delivery, quality of product, and 3D’s customer service performance. These answers dictate the design an effective quality system must be able to meet.

These interactive and informative seminars are taught by T. J. Snow’s own AWS Certified Resistance Welding Technicians (CRWT) who all possess years of experience as professional resistance welding technicians and seminar instructors. Seminar attendees will become familiar with the various types of resistance welding, pneumatic systems, weld control operation, basic welder set up, electrode selection, maintenance, operator safety and more. Our instructors will engage attendees in discussions and Q&A’s during the eight-hour training. One seminar attendee writes of his experience, “As a young engineer it was incredibly valuable to be able to take a one-day training and immediately be able to understand what is happening with our resistance welding machines.” 2024 Resistance Welding Seminar Dates: • April 24 – Lansing, MI • June 5-6 – Bowling Green, KY • August 14 – Cedar Rapids, IA Registration for all 2024 dates is now open. More information can be found at tjsnow.com/training-regional-seminars.

What is the best part of Richard’s position at 3D? “I love the respect the employees have for one another. The way they support each other. There is an atmosphere of positivity here.” Wow! In a nutshell, the key words are the 3D Culture. In a highly productive manufacturing environment with an infinitely varied product mix, quality issues will always crop up. But in a supportive environment such as 3D’s the solutions are collaborative, rather than dictatorial. Once again, the culture of positivity protects the supply chain! Richard commutes from Vancouver, WA to Newberg, OR daily. He is a devoted family man to his wife Darcy and two children Akiva and Teagan. On any given weekend you will find Richard on a disk golf course somewhere in the Pacific Northwest. 3D Plastics enthusiastically welcomes Richard Wells! Committed to the success of its clients, 3D Plastics offers personalized customer service and complete project management. 3D has never shied away from the difficult molding challenges.

T.J. Snow’s reputation is built on helping customers succeed using resistance welding through new and used machinery sales, consumable supplies, training, and service.

Lockheed Draws Near-Term F-35 Support Funds The U.S. Dept. of Defense awarded $663 million for logistics support, supply-chain management, and various other services for the Joint Strike Fighter program during the first quarter of 2024. Lockheed Martin was awarded $663.13 million by the U.S. Dept. of Defense for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program, to provide additional logistics support, reliability and maintainability services, supply chain management, pilot training, maintainer training, and training system sustainment. The work will be performed for the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Navy over the first quarter of 2024, and is expected to be completed in March 2024. F-35 aircraft supplied through DoD’s Foreign Military Sales and non-participants also will be covered by the services to be provided. Funding will be drawn from a previously approved “cost-plus-incentive-fee, fixed-priceincentive, cost reimbursable” contract. The F-35 is a series of single-engine, Stealthenabled aircraft deployed for ground attack and combat, and available in three variants. It is by far the largest and most expensive U.S. defense program, with Lockheed subject to steady scrutiny for cost overruns and the readiness of aircraft for service.

The funding extension follows a recent report by Defense News that the F-35 program faces “significant challenges” in the course of two ongoing upgrades to future weapons and performance upgrades, as revealed by the Pentagon’s F-35 program executive officer. Lt. Gen. Michael Schmidt gave written testimony to the House Armed Services subcommittee on tactical air and land forces that the Block 4 upgrade to the F-35 weapons systems has problems related to hardware design, as well as concerns about the timeline for integrating the related system software, the source reported. Airbus Draws $2.3B Order for Light Helicopters Airbus Helicopters h a s d r aw n i t s largest-ever order for the H145M helicopter from the German Defense Ministry, a $2.3-billion (€2.1 billion) contract for 62 of the twin-engine helicopters. Deliveries will start in 2024, according to Airbus, and the order includes options for 20 more of the same aircraft. The H145M is a light utility helicopter configurable for civilian or defense applications, capable of delivering personnel and materials; for reconnaissance or surveillance; supporting friendly forces in combat; as well as deploying firepower to opposition forces. Of the new order, 57 helicopters will be supplied to the German Army and five will be provided to the German Air Force special forces. The H145M helicopters to be supplied to Germany will include A2Z MANUFACTURING WEST COAST •

options for future mission capabilities, including integrated MannedUnmanned Teaming, data links, and communication systems. According to independent reports, some of the helicopters will be fitted with the Spike LR guided anti-tank missile package, anticipating future mission tactics informed by armored combat in the RussiaUkraine conflict. The H134M helicopters are powered byTurbomeca Arriel 2E engines, with FADEC digital engine control (FADEC). Each aircraft also includes a Helionix digital avionics suite that provides flight data management and four-axis autopilot, which reduces pilot workload, according to Airbus. The helicopters are reconfigurable from a light attack aircraft with axial ballistic and guided weapons and advanced self-defense capabilities, into a special operations version that has fast rappelling equipment. Airbus’ comprehensive mission packages include hoisting and external cargo capabilities. The basic package to be supplied with the H145Ms will include the HForce weapon management system, developed by Airbus Helicopters. “We are proud that the Bundeswehr (Defense Ministry) has decided to order up to 82 H145M helicopters”, stated CEO Bruno Even, Airbus Helicopters. “The H145M is a robust multi-role helicopter

and the German Air Force has gained a significant amount of operational experience with its H145M LUH Special Operations Forces fleet. We will ensure that the Bundeswehr receives the helicopters in accordance with the very ambitious delivery schedule which includes first deliveries in 2024 less than a year after contract signature.”

recession, pointed out that the improved October result was centered in West (+58.8% from September), Southeast (44.6%), and South Central (+14.1%) regions; the other three regions all posted month-to-month declines, and one of those (North Central-West, -29.6%) reported a more significant decrease in order totals.

Adverse Trend Continues for Machine Tool Demand

AMT identified the conclusion of the United Autoworkers union strike in October as one cause for the improvement, as automakers and their suppliers continued to invest in new manufacturing technology.

U.S. machine shops’ and other manufacturers’ new orders for capital equipment increased to $409.7 million during October, up 4.0% from September, though the new result is a -10.6% drop from the October 2022 total. More concerning is that the 10-month total value for new orders is now $4.05 billion, -13.5% less than last year’s comparable 10-month result. The figures are provided by AMT - the Assn. for Manufacturing Technology in its latest U.S. Technology Orders Report. The USMTO program reports new orders as an indicator of future manufacturing activity, as machining operations prepare to undertake new production programs. The monthly update tracks orders for metal-cutting and metal-forming-and-fabricating machinery, nationwide and in six regions of the U.S. Noting the diminishing number of economic forecasts for a U.S.

Another notable aspect of the October results is that machining job shops decreased the value of their orders during the month, although the number of units purchased rose from September. In contrast, “OEMs have been increasing order value at a faster pace than units,” according to AMT’s announcement, “suggesting that they are purchasing machinery for a designated purpose. Of these OEMs, manufacturers of household and major appliance manufacturers made their largest investment since September 2018.” Manufacturers of power transmission equipment – engines, turbines, and other parts – continued to post strong rates of investment during October, with orders 8.0% now ahead of the 2022 rate. “This sector is benefiting from recent government investment, pushing orders of manufacturing technology to levels not seen since the industry was transitioning from coal-fired plants to natural gas,” according to AMT. What U.S. Steel would have to pay — or get paid — if the purchase by Nippon Steel falls through The $14.9 billion acquisition of United States Steel Corp. is already becoming a political football, with the local Congressional delegation coming out against its sale to Tokyo-based Nippon Steel Corp. and the United Steelworkers urging regulators to take a close look. Termination fees are written into the merger agreement, which was signed by the companies Monday and filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission late Monday. The termination fee, $565 million, could go to either U.S. Steel or Nippon Steel, depending on the circumstance. U.S. Steel would have to pay $565 million if either it or Nippon Steel terminated the deal for specific circumstances, including if U.S. Steel decided to take a better offer for the company. But U.S. Steel would be paid the $565 million if the deal doesn’t get all the regulatory approvals needed by the end date. The merger agreement mentions some of the deal’s potential roadblocks, including the failure to receive approvals under antitrust, foreign investment law or the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). CFIUS is an intergovernmental agency that reviews investments in the United States, including when foreign companies buy domestic firms or real estate. Nippon Steel has been in the United States for more than 40 years, starting with a joint venture in the early 1980s with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. It has operations in Pennsylvania and West Virginia, among other states. But it’s 4,000 or so employees are dwarfed by the more than 20,000 at U.S. Steel. U.S. Steel CEO David Burritt brushed aside concerns during an investor conference call Monday. Burritt said the deal was low-risk in terms of regulatory issues, and noted Japan was a long-time and close partner of the United States. It may not matter. Both U.S. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pennsylvania, who lives near the U.S. Steel plant in Braddock, and U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pennsylvania, are against the deal. Fetterman said he would take “all possible action” to block Nippon Steel from buying U.S. Steel. Nor is it only the Democrats. Dave McCormick, who is running for the

Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate, didn’t seem to support it either. “We need to be a manufacturing country, with Americans working for American companies,” McCormick tweeted Monday. And United Steelworkers, the union that represents 10,000 workers at U.S. Steel, also called out the foreign investment. Meanwhile, Nippon Steel defended its $14.9 billion deal for U.S. Steel after observers in the United States and Japan wondered whether the company was overpaying. Eiji Hashimoto told a news conference in Tokyo that U.S. Steel wasn’t a competitor but it had the opportunity to help grow Nippon Steel’s reach. He defended Nippon Steel’s rationale for buying U.S. Steel. A2Z MANUFACTURING WEST COAST •

If you have done business with LV Swiss, it should come as no surprise that the Governor of Utah’s Office of Economic Development (GOED) awarded LV Swiss the prestigious “Utah’s Rural

Business of theYear for 2023”.

The GOED award recognizes companies in Utah’s 25 rural counties for their outstanding achievement, growth, impact in their community, job creation and innovation. LV Swiss has been nothing short of stellar in all of these categories, and the longevity of their employees is a tribute to this, with 25% having worked for the company for more than 10 years. LV Swiss’ success dates back to 2009, when the privately held high tech contract manufacturing company was founded by the 3 owners, Paul Klein Jr., CEO; Darren Hatch, CFO; and Richard Hoffman, President. Each brought unique expertise to the new entity. Paul Jr. has extensive knowledge of running large corporations in Silicon Valley, Darren brought an invaluable software/ technology design background, and Richard had the vast knowledge required to run a precision machine company. The complimentary skillsets each of the founders brought to the start-up is instrumental to the company’s success. The manufacturing entity, based in Southern Utah, in the city of LaVerkin (near the entrance of Zion National Park), offers Swiss Screw machining, precision CNC machining, milling, turning, custom prototyping, centerless grinding and customized tooling on demand. It is AS9100, ISO13485 (for medical device customers), and ISO9001: 2015 certified, and its ITAR Registration enables the company to do business with US Government entities. These certifications have all facilitated LV Swiss’s ability to engage with a number of Fortune 500 companies in the Medical,Aerospace & Defense, Communications/RF Connectors and Industrial Products. Several customers rely on LV Swiss for their precision, small (diameters starting from .018), and high precision (+/- .0002) parts, ranging from prototype to production. All 3 owners remain active in the company today, and A2Z MANUFACTURING WEST COAST •

they have assembled a team of managers to run the day to day operations. Paul Klein III, North American Sales and Marketing Manager, joined the company more than 2 years ago, bringing sales, marketing, industrial distribution and general management expertise from his previous employers. Jeff Christiansen, Director of Operations, came to the company over a decade ago, armed with a strong manufacturing background, and with expertise in the medical device field. In his previous employment, Jeff had substantial experience in Swiss Screw machining which has proven to be a major asset to LV Swiss. Compliance Manager Suzann Christiansen brings 30+ years of expertise in the medical device manufacturing industry, and today, she not only manages compliance with all certification programs, but Paul III commented that “She is flawless in raw material management.” Paul Jr. (CEO) commented, “We are a cost effective supplier to many large corporations, and this is facilitated by our location in Southern Utah, which affords us lower cost production and support. Even so, we intuitively recognize that we must do more for our customers than our competitors do if we expect them to continue to partner with us and to help us to achieve our growth strategy. We must deliver high quality parts at a competitive price to our customers; we must deliver them faster and more seamlessly than others do. It has to be easy to do business with LV Swiss.” Richard (President) indicated that, “We’ve added equipment, software, and warehouses to shorten our delivery times and improve our control of the manufacturing process. As an example, we have an in-house toolmaker who supports our customers who need custom tooling to build their parts. Our centerless grinding capabilities mean that LV Swiss can grind raw material to a customized size rather than wait for the raw material vendors to do this. Our local warehouses enable us to maintain substantial inventory of materials – which proved invaluable to our customers during and after COVID when material shortages were rampant.” Jeff adds, “Our purchase of the 2 Haas Mills meant that our customers using our Swiss Screw machining services didn’t have to go to another supplier to get their parts CNC machined.” He continues, “We have long term contracts in place with a number of our large customers, which can afford them JIT inventory, Kanban and a consignment programs.” Jeff says that a few years ago, several of LV Swiss’ customers changed their ordering patterns to more JIT. “Instead of 50,000 piece orders, we were seeing more frequent, lower volume orders, often in the low thousands. As our Swiss type machines with automatic bar loaders are optimized for large quantities, we had to rethink the Swiss machines

t h a t wo u l d support this new business model.” Jeff is the resident Swiss Screw machine expert at LV Swiss, and he knew from years of working with the Star Swiss type automatic lathes that they were an ideal machine brand for smaller quantities.Today, 13 of the 20 LV Swiss’ Swiss Screw machines are manufactured by Star. Jeff says, “Where in the past we could do 4-5 set-ups per week with our older machines, with our newer Star machines we are doing 15-20 set-ups in the same timeframe.” In addition, LV Swiss utilizes Tornos/Deco Machines for High Volume, tight tolerance, small diameter parts. Today, l e ad times at LV Swiss are exceptional — truly better than the industry standard. Based on LV S w i s s ’s sophisticated Software Systems and Quality PerformanceTools, , LV Swiss performs at the highest levels of the largest companies in the world. Today, many of their customers trust them with real time access to their portals, and LV Swiss has visibility to when their parts are being used, which then signals the company to build more parts to replenish the inventory. They also built an In-house tailored MRP system which is routinely applauded in its sophistication by LV Swiss’ customers. The LV Swiss Quality Management System is another key differentiator for its customers. Darren (CFO) says, “We offer fully integrated in-process ‘Critical to Quality’ (CTQ) labs, as well as fully compliant AS9102 First Article reporting. Our Quality Department utilizes such equipment as Keyence Optical Comparators, Hexagon CMM, hardness testers, and laser micrometers.” The GOED Award includes a key metric of ‘Impact to the Community’ in its awards criteria. LV Swiss recognizes its responsibility and opportunity to both give back to the community and to help to fill the pipeline of next generation machinists. As such, both Jeff and Suzann are members of a Southern Utah Manufacturing Association, with Jeff asVice President. The company also has donated machines and materials to the Dixie Technical

College in St. George, Utah, where both Paul Jr. and Jeff participate on the Advisory Board. Pa u l I I I commented “What sets LV Swiss apart from the competition? We are not just a CNC / Mill Mac hine Shop. We are a hightech, advanced CNC and Mill Mac hine Shop with technicians who deliver the highest quality parts. Our advanced in-house software technology gives real-time, up to date information on the progress of every part. It traces the manufacturing of a part from drawing to engineering to manufacturing to shipping, and finally to delivery.” LV S w i s s i s honored to be this year’s GOED’s Utah’s Rural Business of the Year recipient. If you haven’t done business with them, you should make the call to see what they can do for you. Prepare to be delighted with high quality precision parts short lead times, delivered at a competitive prices.

2023 Manufacturing Technology Orders Up Over September As the summer of 2023 ended, the number of economists predicting a recession dwindled nearly as fast as the amount of sunlight each day. Despite the generally more optimistic outlook, orders for manufacturing technology, measured by the U.S. Manufacturing Technology Orders Report published by AMT –The Association For ManufacturingTechnology, continued to fall relative to 2022. Through October 2023 orders totaled $4.05 billion, 13.5% behind the total for the first 10 months of 2022. Although total orders were behind, October was slightly above the average monthly value in 2023. October orders totaled $409.7 million, 4% above September order values. This growth was driven by orders placed in the West region, which grew nearly 60% over September. The South Central and Southeast regions also saw growth but at a much more modest pace. The Northeast and North Central-East regions declined by modest single digits, while the North Central-West region declined nearly 30% from the value of September 2023 orders. The six-week United Auto Worker’s strike lasted most of October, ending with a tentative agreement at the end of the month. Despite the shuttering of production lines, auto manufacturers continued to invest in manufacturing technology. Investments by automotive transmission manufacturers increased earlier in the year, but this is the second month in a row where manufacturers of other automotive components have increased investment. Job shops decreased the value of their orders in October while increasing the number of units purchased. This indicates that job shops are purchasing machinery to increase capacity. In contrast, OEMs have been increasing order value at a faster pace than units, suggesting that they are purchasing machinery for a designated purpose. Of these OEMs, manufacturers of household and major appliance manufacturers made their largest investment since September 2018. Manufacturers of engines, turbines, and other power transmission equipment have continued their elevated pace of orders, already 8% above the amount invested in 2022. This sector is benefiting from recent government investment, pushing orders of manufacturing technology to levels not seen since the industry was transitioning from coal-fired plants to natural gas. The November 2023 jobs report, published came in slightly above expectations, with 199,000 new jobs added. This addition of jobs brought the unemployment rate down to 3.7% and demonstrated the continued strength of labor markets in the United States. Of those jobs added in November 2023, 28,000 were in the manufacturing sector. In addition to strong labor market conditions, consumer confidence improved for the first time in November following a three-month decline, according the Conference Board Consumer Confidence Index. A strong labor market and improving consumer confidence will have positivetrickle-down influence on the manufacturing technology markets.

The Federal Reserve meets on Wednesday for the final time in 2023. Although the recent cycle of interest rate increases has coincided with a decline in orders for manufacturing technology, this doesn’t align with historic trends. The Summary of Economic Projections from the meeting will be a critical gauge of where the Fed sees growth and inflation headed in the coming months and years. Further interest rate increases aren’t expected. However, even if rates remain elevated, manufacturing technology will continue to be needed in the future if consumers continue to demand goods and services. The United States ManufacturingTechnology Orders (USMTO) Report is based on the totals of actual data reported by companies participating in the USMTO program. This report, compiled by AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology, provides regional and national U.S. orders data of domestic and imported machine tools and related equipment. Analysis of manufacturing technology orders provides a reliable leading economic indicator as manufacturing industries invest in capital metalworking equipment to increase capacity and improve productivity. AMT – The Association For Manufacturing Technology represents U.S.-based providers of manufacturing technology – the advanced machinery, devices, and digital equipment that U.S. manufacturing relies on to be productive, innovative, and competitive. Located in McLean, Virginia, near the nation’s capital, AMT acts as the industry’s voice to speed the pace of innovation, increase global competitiveness, and develop manufacturing’s advanced workforce of tomorrow. With extensive expertise in industry data and intelligence, as well as a full complement of international business operations, AMT offers its members an unparalleled level of support.AMT also produces IMTS –The International ManufacturingTechnology Show, the premier manufacturing technology event in North America. Cutting Tool Market Remains Positive October 2023 U.S. cutting tool consumption totaled $213 million, according to the U.S. CuttingTool Institute (USCTI) and AMT –The Association For ManufacturingTechnology. This total, as reported by companies participating in the Cutting Tool Market Report collaboration, was up 5.8% from September’s $201.4 million and up 6.1% when compared with the $200.6 million reported for October 2022. With a year-to-date total of $2.06 billion, 2023 is up 7.9% when compared to the same time period in 2022. “U.S. cutting tool orders continued to show a trend of uneven growth over the last quarter, and we expect that narrative to continue through the first half of next year,” remarked Steve Boyer, president of USCTI. “Aerospace and automotive market indicators show sustained growth for 2024 and 2025. Other industrial market segments have softened over the last six months, and we anticipate some decline into the next year. Labor shortages, retention challenges, and an aging workforce will challenge future growth in our markets.”

Cutting Tool Control services machine shops in Washington, Oregon, Northern Idaho, Montana, and BC Canada

Eli Lustgarten, president at ESL Consultants, expanded: “Current U.S. cutting tool consumption data remains relatively strong despite the ongoing softness of U.S. manufacturing. Cutting tools are one of the last manufacturing sectors to return to pre-COVID levels. Indications are that conditions will be uncertain for the remainder of 2023 and into 2024. The ISM reported that November manufacturing in the United States contracted for the 13th consecutive month as the U.S. economy slowed under the pressure of higher rates and a consumer slowdown. With the unknown impact of current global turmoil and manufacturing inventories at normal levels or higher, customer orders are being delayed,

Phone: 206-789-7277, Fax: 206-784-8122, Email: Orders@CuttingToolControl.com and companies are focusing on right-sizing inventories. Sustaining current production levels near-term will be difficult. We expect cutting tool orders to remain firm, with 2023 orders of about $2.4 billion to $2.45 billion, likely about 6% to 7% above last year’s level. The first half of 2024 will likely be challenging; a soft economic landing with lower rates will help stabilize and enhance growth next year. The wild card is international turmoil.” The Cutting Tool Market Report is jointly compiled by AMT and USCTI, two trade associations representing the development, production, and distribution of cutting tool technology and products. It provides a monthly statement on U.S. manufacturers’ consumption of the primary consumable in the manufacturing process – the cutting tool. Analysis of cutting tool consumption is a leading indicator of both upturns and downturns in U.S. manufacturing activity, as it is a true measure of actual production levels. The Manufacturer’s Secret Weapon A Special Season – A Special Company

fill this page with text, included are photos of the folks who celebrated the 3D culture this Christmas. Enjoy!

By Stephen Hannemann T ’ wa s t h e we e k b e f o re Christmas, and all through the pub, every employee was stirring, all filled with grub! And a little libation. So was the scene at the annual 3D Plastics Christmas party. On December 17, 3D hosted their annual Christmas gathering for their employees to usher in the new year. One of the many impor tant attributes of 3D Plastics is their emphasis on a positive company culture. The 3D culture is continually evolving with a genuine respect for people, customers, and fellow employees alike. That is probably the single most important quality that bolsters customer loyalty. It also translates to continually improving quality and ontime delivery. Contented employees enjoy taking care in producing useful products! This Christmas my wifeYvonne and I experienced the joy of 38 happy 3D employees and families and a tremendous amount of gratitude. The 3D culture did not happen overnight. This summer 3D will celebrate their 25th anniver sary of servicing customers in every conceivable i n d u s t r y. I t i s my opinion they continue to thrive because of their culture.
