What do you want to do for Brazil?

ProLíder is a program made for people who are interested in understanding what truly happens in Brazil and creates transformative initiatives.

Complaining doesn’t bring change! Join the team of the doors!

4

ProLíder is a program that trains leaders, through discussions, alongside great references, of the current scenario in Brazil, with the main objective of creating businesses and transformative initiatives that seeks to contribute to the development of the country. With an innovative methodology, we are creating a community of talents committed to delivering solid and positive results for the Brazilian society. The ProLíder is an organization of the Instituto Four. Discuss, alongside the greatest experts, the main topics and key themes of our country. Based on the knowledge generated in the discussions, identify opportunities and create enterprises that will contribute to the resolution to one of the biggest problems faced in Brazil. Do this along with a brilliant class, contained with a diverse range of participants that will enhance your learning and contribute to your transformation. Those approved for the ProLíder program have customised

formations according to their life interest. From 2021 onward, all those approved are part of the Introductory Stage, in which they will learn about leadership and have a general overview of Brazil’s main challenges. Towards the end of the Introductory Stage, participants are contested to participate in the Case Challenge, customised according to the participant’s interests, being it focused on public leadership or a creation of a business. After the Case Challenge, participants enter the Specialization Stage training where they will be directed to one of the two schools: Escola de Líderes Públicos, where they will receive the appropriate training to generate a positive impact in the public sector, or Escola Four de Empreendedorismo, where participants will learn to create perennial, scalable and sustainable enterprises with a great potential for national transformation. Each participant defines the phase to enter according to their life interests.

“I hope that people in the future can see that there was a person from Açailândia in the program and think to themselves: ‘I can too!'. We are just used to hearing ‘No’ from other people. We cannot believe in ‘no’. We have to try. Everything is about executing, to have the courage to do it.” Gerliane Chaves is a ProLíder fellow. Every

weekend she left Açailândia, a municipe of the Maranhão State, to participate in the program. Her story serves as an inspiration for many participants in her region, encouraging them to take part in the ProLíder recruiting process.

PROLÍDER and the four university

The Universidade Four is the concretization of our dream of forming the next great generation of national leaders, with a focus on political and entrepreneurial leadership.

From 2021, ProLíder is divided into two phases. The first half of the program constitutes the Introductory Stage. Participants will have access to an overview detailed report on Brazil’s main problems, alongside great references, and will learn about leadership, strategy and

Halfway through the program, every participant will go through the Case Challenge, a competition for solving complex problems by partner organizations. After the Challenge Cases, participants will be allocated according to their interests and life goals to the other schools in the Four University: the Escola Four de Líderes Públicos, for those who want to act in the sphere of society's public policy; and the Escola Four de Empreendedorismo, for those interested in creating perennial, sustainable companies, scalable and with potential for national transformation.

Introductory Stage: Brazil’s Panorama and Leadership

The experience was fantastic. Everyone participated immensely [...] the staff is super enthusiastic. If it were to depend on these people, there are no issues in Brazil that cannot be easily solved. The day they invite me again, I'll be here to have more fun..”

Debate With experts About Brazil In the first phase of the ProLíder, participants have access to cutting-edge information on areas of the public interest as well as topics for national debate regarding the paths Brazil should be taking.

To assist in the task of discussing our country in a healthy, diverse and in-depth way, we invite the instructors: renowned professionals in the area for which they operate, with great expertise and the ability to contribute to the debate on a voluntary basis. The school of instructors is done in a plural way. Diversity is a value ProLíder has as well as the Instituto Four, therefore, we give space for high-profile representatives of all the voices that take part in Brazil’s construction.

problems faced in Brazil. It is important to understand what is actually happening in Brazil. During the first phase, ProLíder seeks to provide the most amount of material to the participant and pave their way for successful actions. Some of the themes worked on in the first phase will be the foundation for the initiatives that will be created in the phase specific to the program. The first phase of the program is preceded by an immersive integration, which has the objective of building a class with strong links for constructive, respectful and empathetic debates. We value diverse points of view during discussions, made possible thanks to the joint construction of the group made during the immersion process.

Your Routine at ProLíder

What is the daily routine like for those who are in ProLíder? Your participation in the program starts long before the training. We have prepared a methodology that involves the participant in high-level discussions in order to contribute to their in-depth construction, which happens at different rates according to the individual’s need.

We believe that knowledge is built actively, which is why we do everything possible to put the participant at the center of the debating action, and not treat them as a mere recipient of information.

10

Before You Start: Prior Reading and Group Discussions

Before starting the program, participants will individually receive reading materials on topics of discussion for the next session, allowing them to go in greater depth on the specific subject. The texts are dense and written by experts in that area. Participants are also encouraged to do their own research and bring in new materials to have a broader discussion and allow them to connect to new ideas and with their own personal background.

At ProLíder, through development of the participants' expertise, they expand the knowledge and aid the development of their peers simultaneously. This is only possible with previous reading and in depth study by each participant, arriving at each session prepared to share with everyone his or her personal vision of the subject. It is important to us to keep our classrooms full of diversity, making discussions extremely enriching and different from anything experienced before. After preparing an abstract, participants will participate in an intimate discussion group, where they can position themselves regarding the team, discuss with their classmates, and begin building up knowledge before the program starts.

During the Program: Discussions and Mediations After the participant has finished studying, done their abstracts, had an in-depth and high level debate with other participants. It's now time to bring their insights into their training. The ProLíder's discussions take place in an "inverted classroom" format: the instructor who is present leads a debate on the subject previously presented. Therefore, the abstracts made and the discussions will give them ownership to debate and learn from the best references in the subjects discussed in the program. Once the training is over, they will prepare a Learning Report that will help them fix the new ideas that were covered in class.

Connection Theory and Practice

Towards the end of the Introductory Stage, the participants are allocated in different schools within the Universidade Four, where their initiatives for transformation are aligned with their individual purpose in life.

16

Once completing the Introductory Stage, participants had classes and training with great references, on different subjects of national relevance, which helped them understand the general picture of Brazilian society and a great panorama about the problems of Brazil. Now is the time to start transforming all the learnt content into applied knowledge, and create initiatives and projects that can contribute to the development of Brazil, both in the public and entrepreneurial spheres. The transition to the Specialization Stage begins. Halfway through the program, the ProLíder Case Challenge, a competition to solve complex problems of partner companies, begins. In the Challenge, participants will be divided into groups and will be assigned to help different organizations. Participants who have chosen to follow the entrepreneurial path will solve cases from private companies; those interested in politics, from public companies. Each group will be responsible for solving a complex problem presented by the organization to which they have been assigned. The results of each team will be evaluated by a panel composed

of members of the partner organizations, and the best ones will be awarded. This is the first opportunity the participant will have to put into practice the leadership and management knowledge acquired throughout the program. In practice, they will learn what day-to-day life is like in a complex organization and how to overcome the challenges that arise in projects that generate impact. The Case Challenge ends with a presentation from all the groups and, once they are all presented, the ProLíder’s Introductory Stage ends. Following this, all participants are allocated into one of the two schools at ProLíder: the

Escola Four de Empreendedorismo and the Escola de Líderes Públicos. Thus beginning the program's Specialization Stage, in which participants have access to content on how to make a real impact, in the manner they wish, on people's lives.

Find Out More About the Schools on the Following Pages.

17

Specialization Stage: Business and Impact Initiatives Now, there is no longer just the mere desire for change, the time to take action has come: the Specialization Stage training will help the participant create the foundation for their initiative, as an entrepreneur or public leader - it just depends on the participants motivations. 18

What will you do for Brazil? Once the participant has arrived at the Universidade Four’s Specialization Stage, it’s time to get down to business. In this phase, they will have training sessions with participants who have chosen the same School as them.

The Specialization Stage has the main objective of giving all the support to the participant in the development of their initiative, regardless of the sector. The contents are conducted by a facilitator, who is responsible for the conduction and assimilation by the participants.

From now on, the ProLíder class will be divided in two: the one that will have training on how to create high impact ventures, at the Entrepreneurship School; and the one that will have classes on how to impact the public sphere, through different means, at the Public Leaders School. These training sessions will be filled with panels on subjects relevant to the reality of each school. In addition, they will also be complemented with specialized workshops with a technical bias, formulated with the participants' capacity-building in mind, to address the biggest problems they will face during the development of their projects.

The training for each School is done separately, so that each can address its issues in a specific and in-depth way. There will be master classes with personalities and people of notorious knowledge, who will deal with subjects that are transversal to both schools, in which all participants are present. From this moment on, the participant will create their dream initiative to transform Brazil for the better. There are several paths that they can follow: check on the next page all the developments of the Specialization Stage.

The coolest part of the process [atProLíder and Four University] is having an organization of your own, identifying a problem that you feel you're going to solve. It's very empowering. Luciana Elmais is a ProLíder Fellow. Since her

graduation, she arrived at ProLíder with a strong interest in acting in Brazilian politics. Luciana discovered at ProLíder a way to do this through entrepreneurial ways. She created Legisla Brasil, an organization that allocates talents in offices of the Brazilian national and regional legislative power to oxygenate the Brazilian institutional politics and to attract the best talents to solve public problems.

I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that there is a Matheus before and after ProLíder. I was welcomed by people from places I never dreamed of, with stories I never conceived of, and I learnt things I never imagined I could learn in my lifet”

Matheus Rodrigues, Fellow ProLíder 2019

22

THE PROLÍDER LEGACY From end to end, ProLíder's methodology aims at transformation through intelligence, knowledge and execution. As a way to express this triad and achieve our goal, which is to contribute to the Brazilian society, we promote the development of initiatives focused on building the Brazil of the future.

Every year, new initiatives emerge from the Instituto Four training programs, exponentially increasing the I's impact in both the political and public spheres.

This page is just an introduction to our legacy! Learn more by visiting our website.

In Brazil there are 170 thousand refugees, and one of their biggest challenges is to have opportunities to enter the qualified labor market. With this problem in mind, Bruna Amaral, a ProLíder Fellow, joined her friends to create Toti, a social business whose purpose is to inspire change in the lives of refugees, establishing connections through education, technology and diversity. The business already assists three Brazilian states and has recently signed a partnership with UN Habitat to further enhance their work.

ProLíder and the Comunidade Four also generate legacy through politics. After years of being considered one of the best councilmen in his city, Curvelo (MG), Luiz Paulo, a 2017 ProLíder Fellow, was elected mayor of the city. His government plan is based on proposals aimed at job creation, income increase, more access to health care in the city, along with other essential points.

Evaluation Boards

At the end of ProLíder, the initiatives created are presented to evaluation boards that seek to establish different aspects of what was built.

These evaluations and presentations aim to contribute to increasing the quality of the entire result of the work of the ProLíder participants. Find out more about each of the following stalls.

Pre Board

Final Board

ProLíder’s Pre Board is the first of the evaluation boards through which the ProLíder initiatives will pass. The teams will separately present the business developed to a board of professionals with technical expertise in the areas of interest to the teams, seeking to assess the feasibility of what has been developed throughout the program. Initiatives that are technically feasible and are in compliance with other judgment criteria will be forwarded for presentation at the ProLíder Final Board which will take place on another day.

The Final Board is the penultimate moment of the ProLíder year (followed only by the Closing Ceremony), and it happens after the Pre Board. Participants will be facing a board of nationally renowned jurees within the areas in which they operate and which can help them make the developed projects become a reality. The best initiatives of each of the Schools will be awarded at the Closing Ceremony, the last moment of ProLíder and Universidade Four in the year, t

For me, it was a privilege. The projects surprised me. It is great to see young people engaged and using their time for something so productive, wanting to make change in society. Rosiane Pecora , general director of Credit Suisse in Brazil,

was part of the 2017 ProLíder Final Board. After the end of the presentations, she made a point of leaving her testimony.

As an institution, we do not believe that leadership can be developed quickly: we believe that it is something that develops throughout the individual’s life, and we understand that it is necessary to be present in the moments of greatest difficulty of the people we approve. Thus, we will guarantee a growing trajectory for those who are willing to do great things for Brazil.

we hope to create a network of intact public entrepreneurs and managers, trained and willing to work together for the good of Brazil.

The Comunidade Four is the fulfillment of that dream. We hope that, in the long term, our Fellows (the name we give to the people who finish our programs and join the Comunidade Four) are occupying prominent positions in the private and public sectors,

This dream requires that the link with program participants remains alive. For this, there is the Comunidade Four: so that everyone can remain connected with each other and with the organization, in a self-managed Community that assists each of its members in their individual life trajectories. Each one, in his own way, walking with people from all over Brazil in favor of a more developed country.
