HP Printer Fax Scanner | How to Setup on HP Printer?

HP Printer Fax Scanner HP has developed Fax-capable multifunctional printers that support fax. Scan your document to be faxed from the scanner glass or using the Automatic document feeder. You can either use the landline phone or cellular service to fax your documents.

How to Set Up and Send a Fax from HP Printer 1)Use a phone cord to connect the phone wall jack to the printer’s 1-LINE jack.

2)Connect an answering machine, if you have one, to the printer using a phone cord.

3)Open Fax Setup Wizard on your Windows.

4)Set the fax preferences and settings.

5)Alternately, you can also set fax preferences on the Fax or Setup menu on the printer’s control panel.

6)Tap the Run a Fax Test option under the Fax menu. The printer will print a test report.

7)Load the document that you want to fax on the scanner glass.

8)Dial the receiving fax number from the printer’s control panel and touch the Black, Color or Send icon.

Detailed Instruction for Setting Up Fax through Landline Telephone Service 1)Get a telephone cord or use the cord supplied along with the printer. The cord should have two wire leads and not four.

2)Plug-in one end of the cord to the phone wall jack and the other end to the 1LINE jack on the rear of the printer.

3)If you have an answering machine, connect it to the 2-EXT jack of the printer using a phone cord. The answering machine can now record voice calls.

4)Search for HP on your Windows and open the HP Software. Set preferences and settings for fax under the Fax Setup Wizard on your Windows operating system. If you have a Mac system, select the Basic fax settings under Fax Setup Wizard.

5)If you want to set the fax preferences from the printer’s control panel, tap the Fax or Fax Setup menu, and choose the settings.

6)Create a header for your fax. Make sure to include your name, business’ name and the fax number. Enable the Answer mode if required, and select a ring type, dial type and fax volume.

8)You can also choose the number of rings after which the printer has to answer the call.

9)Open the Fax menu on the printer’s control panel and select the Run Fax Test option. Wait for the printer to print a report.

9)Place the document to be faxed on the scanner glass. Check if you have loaded paper into the input tray.

10)Dial the receiving fax number from the printer’s control panel and select the Send button. The printer prints a fax report. Go through the report to know if the fax was sent success.
