What is Blink?

Getting started

Blink is your new Internal Communications platform that will enable you to better connect and collaborate with your colleagues.

Download the Blink app and register your account.

Your internal communications strategy and goals will help you determine the features you need to get the most from Blink.

Download Blink for your computer and phone from: www.joinblink.com/download

The standard set up includes a social newsfeed, a centralized content library, and instant messaging.

Beyond that, you can consider which 3rd party integrations and micro apps will bring Blink to life for your organization.

Click on ‘My team is on Blink’ Open the app and click on the big blue button.

Select how to create your account You can use your phone number, work email address or select scan code if you’ve been given one.

Complete your account You’ll be asked to add a few more details. The more you add the better Blink will be for you.

Feed

Chats

The Blink Feed is the anchor of the platform; it’s where everyone can share content with their colleagues - updates, training, photos, videos and much more.

When your team is based in different locations, and in need of decision making or a catch-up, Chats come fully equipped with everything you need to stay connected!

Whether you need to speak to someone directly or have a conversation with a group of people, simply start a Chat and away you go.

Directory

Hub

All your colleagues and the content you’ve shared with them can be found in the Directory and is at your fingertips in just a few clicks!

Your Hub gives you one central place to find everything you need to do your job and do it well.

The Blink Directory helps you connect to everyone and anyone within your organization at any time.

The Hub links your core business applications to the Blink document management system and Micro-Apps, meaning that everything you need is accessible from Blink.

Employee profiles are the perfect place to find and share information such as contact details, job title, manager, reports and, department information, and anything else you have chosen to share about you.

We take your privacy incredibly seriously, so you decide whether you would like to hide or share your contact details. If you hide them, your colleagues will still be able to contact you via Chats.

No more frantic searching for the information you need, and no more out of date Intranet!

Teams The structure of Blink is built on the foundation of Teams. What you see in the Feed and the content you have access to in the Hub depends on the Teams that you are a member of.

This makes your Blink account unique to you and ensures that everything you see is relevant to you and your role.

Your Profile & Settings

Notifications

Within Settings, you can edit your profile and manage your notification preferences. You are in control of your profile and settings, including whether you would like to hide or share your contact details.

You decide how you would like to be notified, whether it’s for everything, or mentions and direct messages only. You can also choose to Snooze your notifications and come back to them later.

Integrations

Do Not Disturb

Blink can be integrated with your other tools, allowing you to get your work done without jumping from one tool to another.

Don’t worry! Blink will not disrupt your free time and home life. You can set Do Not Disturb during certain times, so you will not receive notifications or alerts.

Search Not only can you search for things in Blink, you can even search for things from other services, like your emails and files, all without leaving Blink!

When you activate your Blink account, you will automatically be a member of the Teams that have been pre-selected for you. If you would like to be added to a specific Team, you need to speak to your Blink Champion.
