NEW LEADERSHIP SKILLS FOR THE "NEXT NORMAL"
School leadership in these challenging times of uncertainty and rapid change demands difficult decisions, complex community engagement, selfless service and the mental and physical energy to carry the school through. To persevere and continue to contribute with purpose and joy through the "next normal", principals and school executives need a smarter, not harder, way of navigating these complexities. One that incorporates self-care as well as selfless service. This starts with developing a mindset that can remain calm, clear, curious and focussed amidst change, confrontation and chaos. Coupled with a “heartset” to lead from a place of openness, compassion and wise action.
