Two days free workshop for old precious kolu dolls
A resident of Brindavan Nagar (near 2nd Street) in Valasaravakkam Onam celebrated Lavi’s The Shades, No5, Kavarai Street, West Mambalam, is conducting free two days with colourful pookalam on Sept. 21. workshop on Sept. 25 and 26 from 10 a.m to 11 p.m to repaint and restoring old precious Kolu dolls, varnishing it thereby restoring its beauty. Namasankirtanam by Kumbakonam Ananthanarayana Bhagavathar
The Namasankirtanam was conducted by Kumbakonam Ananthanarayana Bhagavathar for Vidayatri utsavam of Sri. Sakthi Vinayaka Temple in Metro Nagar Alapakkam, Porur on Sept. 12. The audience were made to recite bhagavannama with full involvement in Namasankirtanam. Abhangs such as Nachata and Rangamma were sung with full tempo to enthrall the audience. ‘Sancharat Adara’ Ashtapathi, ‘Kshemam kuru Gopala’ Tarangini and few other pracheena sampradaya krithis too sung to delight the audience.
A Tribute to Shakespeare
The Students of The Schram Academy paid their rich tribute to William Shakespeare by participating in the cultural competitions Progressio 16 held to honor the great poet and playwright on his 400th death anniversary (1616). A wide range of competitions were held at the Velammal Bodhi Campus, Kolapakkam for KG to Std IX students to honor the English language and to
test their English Speaking skills by organizing Drama, Recitation, Declamation, Oration, Situation Presentation, Debate competitions. The Schramites competed with the top ranking city schools of Greater Chennai and excelled through their performances as judged by experts in the field. It was a proud moment for the Schramites as they
received the overall trophy for their outstanding performance from the chief guest Ms. Venkata Lakshmi, HOD of English, Anna University; Ms. Lakshna All India Rank, AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Mr. Charan Kumar, IIT Madras. The school was also honored with a cash award of Rs. 10,000 apart from the individual prizes and certificates to all winners.
