Save water rally held at Velammal

Students of Std.6 to Std.8 of Velammal Main school, Mogappair campus took part in the awareness rally to save water. The cheerful participants of the rally held placards that carried messages on water conservation.

The rally was organis.ed to educate the students on the importance of water and how to save it on daily basis. The rally aimed at generating awareness among the students on water wastage and importance of water in daily life.

Run for Peace

On commemoration of International Yoga Day on June 21, Brahma Kumaris organised ‘Run For Peace’ programme to promote Universal Peace and Harmony, on June 23 in Chennai. The Run commenced from Olcott School, Besant Nagar, continued via Malar Hospital and ended at the same venue covering 5 kms distance.

Dr.C.Sylendra Babu IPS (Director General of Police of the Railways (GRP) , Tamil Nadu) was inaugurated the event and participated in the run. V.Balakrishnan (Deputy Inspector General, Railways) also participated in the run.

Around 1350 people from various walks of life in the city, including 120 Police personnel from the Railways participated in 5km, 3km and 1km run in the event.

Human formation of World cup

In connection with the International Day of Yoga, 5001 students of Velammal Main School, Mogappair campus performed yoga in human formation depicting the World cup 2019 cheering Team India to win the cup.

They demonstrated yoga to insist the need for good health and healthy life style.

The programme shed light on the benefits of keeping fit, following a healthy diet and regular exercise. Special performance by International champions was an eye attraction.

Creative Kids Yoga Studio celebrates International yoga day

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, to create an awareness among people, Creative Kids Yoga Studio arranged free Yoga class under the guidance of Yoga expert Deepika on June 21 at the new Sri Lambhodhara Mini Hall, Madhanandapuram, Porur .

Deepika taught various asanas which includes Suryanamaskar, Tadasana, Trikonasana etc. and techniques of breathing exercises.
