Alpha Arts and Science College celebrated Annual Sports Day

The 21st Annual Sports Meet 2019 of Alpha Arts and Science College (Porur) was held on Feb 27 in the college premises. S.Kevin Ananda Raj, Indian Fisttball Head Coach was the chief guest

for the event. Principal, Dr. D. Ashalatha, Vice Principal, Geetha Ravi and Coordinator of Shift II, Purnalakshmi were the other dignitaries present on the occasion. Sports Day began with

an invocation seeking the blessings of the almighty. This was followed by the welcome address by V. Bhuvanash Kurmar, III BCA, Sports Secretary (2018-19). Chief Guest S. Kevin Ananda Raj

delivered the inaugural address highlighting the merits of sports and declared the sports meet open. The events began in style with the muchanticipated March Past

by students of all the 4 Houses -Shakespeare, Shelly, Shaw and Spencer, the NCC and Sportspersons led by the respective House Captains and Vice Captains.

Velammal student bags first prize in Tennis tourney

Ravilla Kumar Krithi, Std. 6 of Velammal Main School, (Mogappair campus) participated in the State Level Inter School Tennis Tournament–2019 held at SDAT Tennis Academy from 23.2.19 to 24.2.19 and bagged the 1st prize among 100 players in the U-12 and U-14 category. She was awarded two trophies and a gift voucher worth 10,000. It was organized by Marina Sports Academy.

Vedanta Academy celebrated Annual day

The First Annual day was celebrated at Vedanta Academy (CBSE)on Feb 22 with a lot of grace and gusto, spreading the vibrant colours of the globe. The theme of the annual day was VRIKSHA - The International Year of Progress expressing that Nature holds the key to our holistic development which depends upon Physical, Mental, Emotional, Cultural and Social Enhancement. P. Benjamin, Honourable Minister of Rural Industries and Development was the chief guest for the occasion. The Chairman K. Ramadoss, The Director SundeepVasu, The Principal R. Pratheepa, other honourable members of the school governing body, distinguished guests and the parents also graced the occasion with their heartening presence. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp lending the occasion a ceremonious aura which was followed by an eclectic mix of cultural programmes. Around 300 students participated in the annual day.
