The Wise Step programme held at Vaishnav College for Women

About 2000 students of first year undergraduate courses trained in Yoga and Meditation gathered for the program on The Wise Step conducted on Feb 19 at S.D.N.B. Vaishnav College for Women, Chromepet with the emphasis on the importance of holistic living, ensuring that students find a purpose in their lives and are able to excel in their chosen fields, during studies and post studies as well.

The students completed a 12 week Yoga cum Meditation program delivered through Heartfulness Institute, Chennai.

The Principal presented an overview of the 12 weeks heartfulness Yoga and Meditation sessions conducted in the academic year 2018 – 19.

S. Prakash, Zonal Coordinator, Heartfulness Institute, addressed on the topic Designing Destiny (The book which was recently released and it was written by Daaji, Global Guide, Heartfulness Institute). As part of the talk, he gave a crystal clear 10 point action plan that is bound to be a Blue Print for success by rewriting their Destinies.

M. K. Anand, Heartfulness Trainer, delivered an experiential session on the topic LEAP – Learn, Experience, Apply and Progress and he has explained the modern scientific research in the areas of Neuroscience and Neuroplasticity.

Students underwent 20 minutes meditation session with Heartfulness trainers as well.

The session concluded with vote of thanks by the I year B.Sc. Students, Hema Suriya and Iswarya of Physics Department.

Thakkar Bapa Vidyalaya Samithi observed 64th death anniversary of Amarar A. Vaidyanatha Iyer and 75th death anniversary of Annai Kasturba Gandhi .

Event commenced with prayer.

As mark of respect and to rest our brave soldiers soul in peace and give us enough strength to cope up with the situation and to prevent such incidents in future, observed silence and prayed for the same.

Free dental checkup camp

Sri Krishna Sweets jointly with Basakar Dental Foundation, T .Nagar organized free dental checkup and awareness camp recently.

A team of senior specialist dental surgeons and para-medical staff carried out a comprehensive dental checkup in Parimala Padmanaban Old Age Home, Potheri, Chengalpattu.

The camp was initiated with dental awareness brochures educating people about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent from them. Totally 60 persons were checked in this camp.

The participants were highlighted about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay. The dental surgeons also highlighted about the possible formation of harmful acid which develops as plaque when bacteria get in contact with sugar in the mouth which ultimately results in tooth decay.

They were also given opportunity to interact with the dental surgeons to enquire and gain knowledge concerning oral incidents of Gandhiji’s Life. diseases.
