The PSBB Millennium School conducted free eye camp
Ashtabanthana Maha Kumbhabhishekam will be performed in Sri Sankara Narayanar Temple (Devaraj Nagar, Saligramam) on Aug.27 from 8.30 a.m. Following are programme: 7 a.m : Maha Poornahuthi 7.30 a.m : Special Deeparathanai 7.45 a.m : Yathradhanam 7.55 a.m : Kalasangal Purappadu from Yagasalai 11 a.m : Maha Abhishekam 11.45 a.m : Deeparathanai 12 (noon) : Annathanam 6.30 p.m : Mangala Deeparathanai 7 p.m : Light Music All are welcome.
Inner wheel club of Madras South donated diapers
Inner wheel club of Madras South distributed Rs 5000 worth diapers and 5kgs of sugar to Prema Vasam (Mugalivakkam) a home for mentally and physically challenged children. The PSBB Millennium School (Gerugambakkam, Porur) had conducted a free eye camp on Aug.26. The camp was organized in association with The Kalpana Eye Care Hospital, Gerugambakkam, Porur. The house keeping staff, bus drivers, attenders and the canteen employees were the beneficiaries of the camp as a part of “Staff Welfare”.
As a part of the camp, the staff were screened for eye defects, blood sugar, blood pressure and dry eyes to provide them with corrective measures and treatment. More than 115 employees were benefitted out of the camp under the guidance of Dr. Kalpana Suresh and her team. The camp included creating awareness of the
eye diseases, eye care and general hygiene through PPT presentation and the diagnosing tests. The results were revealed and post diagnosis support was assured for the employees. The student-members of The PSBB Millennium’s Interact Club were also trained for eye screening and were involved in the camp.

Vallal Pandi Durai memorial competitions held at Velammal School
Velammal Main School (Mogappair) celebrated its 31st annual Vallal Pandi Durai memorial competition in commemoration of classical Tamil on Aug. 19. The special guest was lyricist Mr. Arivu Mathi.
Around 30 leading schools of Chennai took part in this celebration. About 450 students participated in various competitions like Oratorical, Essay writing, Drawing, Singing and Dance Competition that reflected Tamil Heritage and Culture. The event was conducted in two phases and the first three winners were duly awarded and all the participants were given consolation prizes by the chief guest.
