Missile construction workshop An NGO conducts essay and launching contest competition for students of
Tamilnadu Nandini Voice for the Deprived (a Chennai based NGO), has organized an essay competition for students in Tamil Nadu on ‘what is needed to improve standards of school education in Tamilnadu’. All school and college students in Tamil Nadu are eligible to participate in the competition. The essay should be maximum of 1500 words and can be written in English or Tamil. The PSBB Millennium School (Gerugambakkam) had provided an opportunity for the students in the field of Aeronautics. On the 10th of October, as a tribute to Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, the school had organized for a workshop in collaboration with Raven Aerial Technologies, K.K. Nagar. The expert team screened and explained the types, the significance of missiles and Launching techniques. The participants were addressed by Prof. C. S. Karunakaran, Hindustan University, Hon, Sec of IAAA of India, Chennai branch. He interacted with students interest in the field of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The inauguration of launching contest was done in the presence of the Chief Guest, PSBB Millennium School, Mentor Mrs. HemaNagarajan, H. R Manager Mr. Shankar and PSBB Millennium School, Principal Mrs. BhavaniBaskar. Out of 70 models 3 best launches were selected as winning models. On Oct.14 the winners were awarded by Mr. T K Sundaramoorthy, Rtrd Mission Lead, ISRO. Participation shield was presented to the school.

A stretch of Eswaran Koil Street in Porur has been dug up and remains in a bad condition. Cars and two wheelers passing through this stretch are always in road is extremely narrow. Many residents and devotees finding it difficult to negotiate the slush and pot holes. This road is connection to Porur flyover and Madhanandapuram and Gerugambakkam.
