S. Harshini (Std.12 of Velammal School, Mugappair West) represented India in the U-18 category in Asian Youth Chess Championship held at Sri Lanka recently.

Katrinelea programme held The Heartfulness Institute organised a lecture by international scholar – Dr. Sampadananda Mishra, Director, Sri Aurobindo Foundation for Indian Culture (SAFIC) on April 14.

Dr. Mishra spoke on ‘Serving the world through Spirituality,’ where the narrative he wove revolved around the relevance of meditation, ‘Abhyas’ (practice) even as the human beings continue their quest to become aware of consciousness and its evolutionary expansion in daily life.

The renowned scholar started the talk in an innovative way – by holding an instrument that when shaken threw up the sounds of nature and yet highlighting the importance of silence within.

In today’s world, when everyone is hankering for peace and happiness, Dr Mishra through his talk emphasized the need to be diligent in practice and tweak our understanding to accommodate changes (mindset) as required.

He also stressed that one

has to go ‘within’ to find the answers as the heart would provide the guidance.
