Velammal students form human National flag

Viluthugal and Vedanta Academy (CBSE), Chennai jointly hosted its Sports Fest’18 on Jan.26 for the students of in and around Chennai. Viluthugal a trust who motivates equal human rights ensure that children learn holistically through physical activity to improve their health and fitness level. Around 400 students from Government Schools, Government Aided and other schools participated. Certificates and prizes were distributed to the winners. The chief guest was Dr. S. Selvakumar, Asst. Commissioner of Police. The valedictory function was presided by The chief guest Dr. Mozhippriyan, Founder and Director of Akram Global languages institute. The entire competition was witnessed by the guest of honour K.Ramadoss, Chairman , SKR Engineering College, Director of Vedanta Academy, Sundeep Vasu, the members of the management and The Principal Lakshmi Venkat encouraged and motivated the participants to set other milestones in their journey of sports.

69th Republic Day celebration

In commemoration of 69th Republic Day celebrations on Jan. 26, 6900 students of Velammal students (Mogappair campus) joined hands to create a human national flag and a caption depicting ‘Velammal Salutes The Nation’. The Vibrant celebrations were conducted to instil patriotism among the students and also to understand the significance of the day.

“Divine twin months celebration”

The Schram Academy welcomed every one into the campus, imbibing in them patriotic fervor for the 69th Republic Day. The unfurling of the tricolor was witnessed by the guests from Netherlands Drs. Willem Bustran and Drs. Yohan Elgersma in the presence of the Founder Chairman Dr. Elizabeth Schram. Stanz Surro, an academician and an expert in IGCSE

curriculum was the chief guest. He took the salute at the march past, hoisted the flag and gave the 69th Republic Day message. The students reflected both patriotism and the rich Indian culture by their multi lingual songs and dance drama. The Ramanujan house contingents were awarded the best march past trophy, which was received by the captain Anish Seeniraj, Std. 11.

The PSBB Millennium School, Gerugambakkam, as a gesticulation of its spiritual expressions, celebrated “Thai Thiruvizha” and “Millenniumil Thiruvaiyaru” on the consecutive days 11th and 12th of January 2018, under the auspices of “Bharatiya Sanskriti”. First day – Thyagaraja Aradhana is presented by the school annually as “Millenniumil Thiruvaiyaru” to pay homage to the saint poet and the prolific Carnatic composer Thyagaraja. The students across all the classes from primary till the higher secondary took part in the musical rendition of Pancharathna Kritis. The teachers and parents contribution also added flavors to the divine treat. The accompaniment of music instruments by the students were the heart beat for the kritis rendered. Second day – Dance performance by school students that comprised of Pushpanjali, Ganapathy Kowthuvam, Alaripu, Jatheeshwaram, Shabdham, Thillana, Nachiyar Thirumozhi and Kurathi that were presented as sophiscated vocabulary of sign language with brilliant gestures, excellent foot-styles and the beauty-blend of mudhras. The students were trained by the school dance teacher Gokila Vani. Latter part of the program was a music recital presented by Srilakshmi, teacher in The PSBBMS, Gerugambakkam energized the gathering with her supernal rendition of Carnatic and Hindustani classics that were of a rare collection of ragas from North and South with mridangam as the accompaniment instrument. The two-days presented an absolute spiritual experience to all.
