With our industry-leading technology treatments textiles stay fresh and have an extended lifespan.
Polygiene Freshness technologies are embedded in textiles to deliver long-lasting freshness across your entire product portfolio. That means garments can be washed less and last longer — good news for consumers, and for the planet.
Used by leading sports and outdoor brands, as well as in fashion, lifestyle, home, and pet products, our Polygiene Freshness solutions either inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria or eliminate existing odors — keeping products fresh, functional, and more sustainable.
Polygiene StayFresh inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria, stopping smells at the source.
Even with sweat or other moisture, Polygiene StayFresh makes it impossible for bacteria to multiply.
Reduced odor means you can wash less frequently, saving water and energy.
Polygiene Freshness offers class-leading performance and durability for all products.
Polygiene Freshness technologies work in two powerful ways to keep products fresher for longer. Polygiene StayFresh™ technologies inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria on textiles, stopping smells before they start.
Polygiene OdorCrunch™ captures and breaks down existing odors—like smoke, body odor, or cooking fumes—using natural silica particles. Together, they reduce the need for frequent washing, helping products last longer while saving water, energy, and wear and tear.
Polygiene StayFresh is based on silver chloride, a salt that is naturally present in water and soil. The silver ions in the salt make it impossible for the bacteria responsible for bad smells to multiply, stopping odor in its tracks. This advanced antimicrobial solution is integrated into the fabric, ensuring built-in freshness. And because it’s added during the finishing stage, there’s no additional energy or water required during the application, minimizing environmental impact during manufacture too.
Our industry-leading antimicrobial technology inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria, so garments need less washing, saving water, energy and wear and tear. Many leading brands have already made a choice to move from fast consumables to durables.
Is Polygiene StayFresh safe?
Yes. All our treatments have undergone extensive sensitivity testing and are completely safe – even when used for long periods. Polygiene StayFresh is only active in the material so it doesn’t interfere with any natural bacteria on the skin.

How does Polygiene OdorCrunch work?
Works by using natural silica particles to capture the odors that cling to fabric fibers. It’s 95% filtered river water and 5% modified silica sand particles combined using a patented formula. The silica attracts molecules of oxygen, nitrogen, and sulfur, the elements that create bad odors. Once absorbed, the silica ‘crunches’ them by cracking and breaking down each molecule, so it loses its potency. That way, the smell is permanently eliminated.
How does Polygiene OdorCrunch reduce your carbon footprint?
As well as producing no waste during the manufacturing process (all raw material is converted into the final product), adding Polygiene OdorCrunch odor control technology to fabric means they don’t need to be washed as often. That reduces water usage, the amount of detergents and other washing liquids used, and prolongs the garment’s life. It embraces our principle of wasting less, and wearing more.
Has Polygiene OdorCrunch won any awards?
We’re proud of the fact that Polygiene OdorCrunch won the Sustainability award at the 2019 Scandinavian Outdoor Group Awards. Polygiene OdorCrunch is also Bluesign® approved, and Oeko-tex® Eco Passport approved product.
Polygiene OdorCrunch is an odor control technology that works at the molecular level to capture, ‘crunch’, and eliminate the molecules that create odors. The process uses natural silica, the main ingredient in ordinary sand. Silica attracts molecules such as sulfur away from the fabric fibers and onto its surface.
Once that happens, the molecules are absorbed by the silica, which acts on the shell around each molecule and ‘crunches’ it to break it down. The molecule, now no longer able to remain active, is eliminated permanently, and that offensive odor, whether it’s sweat, cooking smells, or even smoke, is gone for good.
By cutting down on the frequency of washing required to keep clothes smelling fresh, Polygiene OdorCrunch helps reduce water usage and the amount of detergents and artificially-scented fabric softeners required to mask stale odors. The wear more, wash less principle also helps reduce the amount of electricity consumed while doing laundry. And the less you wash a garment, the longer it lasts.
At Polygiene, we believe that true comfort comes from feeling fresh and confident – no matter the conditions. Polygiene technology has traditionally helped people to stay fresher for longer by preventing odor in textiles.
Now, we’re taking it to the next level with StayCool by Polygiene, a cutting-edge cooling fabric technology that can be used independently, or in combination with our freshness innovations. By combining moisture-activated cooling with long-lasting odor control, StayCool by Polygiene ensures that your clothes, bedding, and gear keep you feeling cool, fresh, and ready for anything.
Heat and humidity shouldn’t stop you from performing at your best. Whether you’re pushing your limits in the gym, tackling a busy workday, or simply trying to get a good night’s sleep, StayCool by Polygiene is here to help. This moisture-activated cooling clothing technology keeps you fresh and comfortable by responding to your body’s natural heat and sweat.
Designed for activewear, everyday clothing, and home textiles, StayCool by Polygiene delivers an almost instant cool-to-the-touch sensation, allowing you to feel refreshed when it matters most. If you’re looking for the perfect balance between performance, comfort, and innovation, StayCool by Polygiene is the game-changer your fabrics need.
Our cooling fabric technology is proven to lower fabric temperatures by between 2 – 3°C (4.3 – 5.4°F) for a refreshing feel.
Maintains its cooling effect with proven wash durability and ensures continued freshness whilst maintaining fabric integrity.
Kicks in when you start sweating, keeping you cool when you need it most. When the temperature rises, don’t sweat it – StayCool by Polygiene has you covered.
Effective on various fabrics (synthetics, cellulosics, and recycled fibers) with flexible application methods like pad-dry, exhaust, garment-dip, or spray.
Which fabrics can be treated with StayCool by Polygiene?
It works on a range of fabrics—cellulosic (like cotton), synthetics (like polyester), man-made cellulosics (like viscose), and recycled fibers. This makes it suitable for everything from activewear to bedding.
Is StayCool by Polygiene the same as reducing sweat or odor?
StayCool primarily provides a cooling sensation by accelerating heat and wicking. While it helps you feel fresher, it does not directly control odor unless combined with Polygiene Freshness technologies.
Will StayCool by Polygiene still work if I’m not sweating heavily or if the weather is dry?
You’ll feel a cool touch even without heavy sweat. However, the eff ect is at its peak when moisture (e.g., light sweat) activates the cooling properties.
Our bodies naturally regulate temperature through evaporation, but traditional fabrics can trap heat and moisture, leading to discomfort. StayCool by Polygiene enhances the cooling process by actively transporting the moisture away from the body allowing it to evaporate, whilst creating a refreshing sensation on contact.
Utilizing a thermo-reactive polymer matrix, StayCool by Polygiene binds to fabric fibers and activates upon contact with sweat, cooling the fabric between 2 – 3°C (4.3 – 5.4°F) almost instantly. The result? A long-lasting cooling effect that keeps you feeling light, dry, and comfortable throughout the day.
Heat and moisture stays in fabric.

Sustainability matters to brands because sustainability matters to consumers.
Some businesses care about sustainability because their leaders believe it is the ethical thing to do. Other businesses view sustainability as a commercial opportunity - a niche to leverage. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that adopting more sustainable practices is now a financial imperative. Ignoring sustainability means ignoring a large and powerful customer demographic and rejecting compelling data on consumer attitudes.
78% OF US CONSUMERS SAY THAT A SUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE IS IMPORTANT TO THEM (McKinsey)
82% OF CONSUMERS WANT BRANDS TO PUT PEOPLE AND THE PLANET BEFORE PROFIT (Talkwalker)
PRODUCTS MARKETED AS SUSTAINABLE GREW 2.7X FASTER THAN PRODUCTS WITHOUT SUSTAINABLE MARKETING (TBS)
Awareness
Consumers are increasingly aware and knowledgeable of sustainability issues.
Revolution
A rapidly growing number of consumers say sustainability is important to them and influences purchasing decisions.
Marketing
This is reflected in the success of products that leverage sustainability in marketing materials.
There is a disconnect between consumer and retail leader attitudes, resulting in an opportunity for brands willing to engage with shifting consumer attitudes.
A generational shift is occurring in which sustainability will become an even more central issue and a significant determinant in purchasing decisions.
Younger consumers understand sustainability as more than material choice. It takes a much broader approach that looks at a product’s entire lifecycle.

AT POLYGIENE, WE HELP OUR PARTNERS LEVERAGE THE SUSTAINABILITY BENEFITS ASSOCIATED WITH OUR SOLUTIONS BY PROVIDING MARKETING ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORT.
This is all part of the Polygiene package and we work with partners in the following ways to ensure consumers are aware your products feature Polygiene technology and understand the benefits of it doing so.
Labeling: Polygiene provides partners with an extensive labelbook from which you can select permanent sew-in labels and hang tags. This enables you to promote the inclusion of sustainability-focused Polygiene technology in a clear and immediate way.
Polygiene offers point-of-sale (POS) materials to enable retail staff to clearly communicate the benefits of Polygiene technology and facilitate a better understanding among consumers.
Staff training: From printed materials, such as one-pagers and FAQ sheets, to plexi stands and bespoke in-store promotional videos, in addition to staff training and development, we work with you in the retail environment to maximize the value of Polygiene technology to your brand.
The previous section detailed how we can help new brand partners. Here, we highlight the work already done to help existing Polygiene partners. This is Polygiene support in practice.
We often leverage our own established and extensive PR and marketing channels to promote Polygiene-treated products, providing access to an audience with a clear interest in sustainable technology and more eco-friendly consumer products. From regular Polygiene newsletters and customer case studies to our welldeveloped social media presence, we regularly collaborate with brands to ensure they receive maximum exposure. This includes campaigns for our partners’ new collections, as well as materials for important calendar events and celebrations. We also work with our partners’ in-house and third-party PR teams to guarantee consistent value-add messaging.
We understand that greater public and industry awareness of Polygiene benefits those brands that incorporate our technology into their products. The more recognizable the Polygiene brand, the more effective the hangtags, labels and other marketing materials are. With this in mind, we dedicate significant resources to attending influential industry exhibitions and conferences, including the European Outdoor Summit and ISPO trade fairs, as well as consumer-facing events like the Appalachian Trail Days event in the US or The North Face Ultra-Trail Mt Fuji event in Japan.
Staff training has proven highly effective, enabling employees in the retail environment to talk accurately and confidently about Polygiene technology to customers.
We can offer direct in-store employee training to many brands and also work with businesses’ staff development teams, enabling retailers to deliver effective staff training for Polygiene-treated products in the future.
