Tubby Bears This year, Tubby Bears Play Den, located at the rear of Carrington Court on Great Northern Road, Derby is celebrating 5 years in business. DIY Womens Course

"Sisters are Doing it for If you are you an independent woman wanting to learn to ‘Do it Yourself’ and avoid paying tradesmen or if you want to be able to show your husband or partner that you're sick of asking them to do those DIY jobs and you can ‘DO IT YOURSELF’, then Angelica and Jason have designed just the course for you! An intensive, 2 day, home maintenance course designed just for women. They ensure that you feel relaxed and confident. You can either bring a friend and learn useful DIY skills together, or attend on your own knowing that you will learn useful skills whilst having a relaxed and enjoyable time making new friends. The course is created to ensure that you learn many new skills, which will enable you to improve and maintain your home, including basic plastering, drilling and tiling. The American motor sensation comes to Derby in May 2011

Putting the demolition into Derby on 28 and 29 May 2011, Monster Jam is set to make its debut at the stadium. Beware poor imitations: MONSTER JAM, the original, biggest and baddest monster truck show in the world is coming to the Pride Park Stadium. The high octane MONSTER JAM is a stunning family show consisting of the coolest monster trucks and Freestyle Motocross with some of the world’s best drivers, sickest tricks and craziest stunts. MONSTER JAM is one of the biggest and most popular entertainment events in the US running around 250 shows and selling 2.3 million tickets annually. The Derby show will see the appearance of the iconic Grave Digger, the return of Maximum Destruction and Madusa, plus the crowd favourites Monster Mutt and El Toro.

As well as the tickets allowing access to the show, MONSTER JAM fans can buy tickets for the pre-show pit party. This is an exclusive chance to meet the drivers of the monster trucks and see the trucks up close. The Pit Party ticket (can only be purchased with a show ticket) gives access to the actual competition ﬂoor of Pride Park Stadium where fans can see ﬁrsthand where the action happens. The Pit Party is a great opportunity to get up close and personal with MONSTER JAM and see just how big the trucks really are. It’s also a great time to get pictures and autographs.

A monster truck is approximately 11 feet tall and 12 feet wide. They are unique custom-designed machines and weigh a minimum of 9,000 pounds. The tires alone are 66-inches tall! Monster trucks are built for short, high-powered bursts of speed; these beasts generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster trucks can jump a distrance110 to 115 feet (a MONSTER JAM is a one-of-a-kind distance greater than 14 cars side by side) experience. It is here for these shows and up to 25 feet in the air. only - don’t miss out! The monster trucks compete in two different competitions - side-by-side racing and freestyle. Side-by-side is the traditional format - the first truck, with the least penalties, across the line is the winner. Team Dragons Relocate to City Centre One of Derby's leading and most well known martial arts academy teaching Kickboxing, Krav Maga/Ninjutsu Concepts Defence and M.M.A. are combining their friendly, specialist classes with amazing dance group Trinity warriors, who recently made it to the semi ﬁnals of Sky TV's "Got to Dance" show! Classes in martial arts and dance will be held in their City Centre Studio and are available to anyone regardless of age and ability. In addition to these specialist classes, the Studio will be open from early in the morning for people wishing to perhaps use the treadmills, cross trainers, weights

or for those who fancy a few pre-work workout rounds on the boxing bags, with the guidance of staﬀ setting you a target or timing your work-out rounds. There will be cheaper daytime rates for the unemployed and reduced rates for N.U.S. and school leavers.

Lunch times may be a time when you may also wish to try your hand at boxing or have a mid-day work-out. After work classes will see circuit training and box-ﬁt sessions.

New group brings Creative Little People What do milk bottle tops, sticky backed plastic, a knitted Scarecrow and great company have in common? They can all be found at Creative Little People sessions in South Derbyshire and East Staﬀordshire. Launched in January this year, Creative Little People oﬀers interactive play sessions for children and adults run by owner and founder, Sarah Bittner. Throughout the year, Sarah runs fully interactive, 45-minute sessions with a mix of games, music, stories, arts and crafts that are themed weekly for children from nine months to 11 years.
