Shelter
Written by Jackie Friedland Shelter A place to hide, to run, to escape One does not want to go to a shelter Shelters are a last resort Transitory, Impermanent, Fragile Yet in we go Fleeing, Sprinting, tripping The faster you get in, the quieter it gets The doors can then be shut Locked, Barred, Swallow the key But the thing is, you can’t stay in a shelter forever Something is gonna break it down Elections, Trolls, Reality You are going to have to come back out Face the things you were running from But for now Disassociate, Huddle, Breathe Shelter
