SCHOOL SAFETY IS CRITICAL

Our hearts are broken for the community of Uvalde, Texas. We recognize and value the enormous amount of faith our parents entrust us with their children under our care. School is to be a safe place. We want to provide an update on the next steps to enhance security measures.

The following are past measures we have taken and will continue to refine:

• Continual employee training on school emergency procedures including lockdown drills, protocol systems, awareness, preparedness strategies including a renewed commitment to ensure all classroom doors remain locked. • Installation of Phase 1 of wrought iron fencing around the perimeter of our schools. • Updating our security cameras. • Limited entry—check in/screening for guests on all campus entry points.

• Diligent care of our students by ensuring teachers, coaches, administration, and support staff are aware and responsive to individual student needs.

The following are new measures now in motion:

• Formation of a new Campus

Security Task Force, which includes ongoing collaboration with Phoenix Police Department and other leaders with security expertise. • Hiring of armed security services to begin August 2022.

Our 2022/2023 Budget did not include the hiring of professional security personnel which will annually amount to approximately $200 per student. Please consider a gift to help us protect our children, a sacred responsibility, which requires our partnership.
